Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 622 Hooded individual

When one of the draco soldiers began to fall, the others were paralyzed for a moment, but soon they charged at Reca again… the others surrounded Jori nas well to avoid his intervention.

Both groups began to fly around to surround them while using Fire breath. In the end, Rain enveloped Jori in ice armor as well to withstand the flames… but neither of them could move their arms that much anymore.

"I can tell that they will complain a lot about this," Rain thought.

Most of the warriors had escaped already. The ice golems were now charging at Rain, so he didn't have time to waste.

While Jori and Reca were waiting for Rain's next move, hoping that they would attack one of the enemies again, Rain suddenly passed by them in the air… he crossed a thick wall of flames to grab one of the draco soldiers by the neck.

When he began to fall, the soldier began to agonize thanks to the pressure on his neck… but soon the enemy made up his mind… he began to emit a dangerous aura, one that Rain knew very well.

A fire and violent aura began to spread around the target and then Rain tossed the guy toward their friends and then Rain pulled Jori and Reca sway. In the next moment, a massive explosion took place in the air…

The explosion expanded itself for one hundred meters radius instant and Rain and his friends were caught on it, but soon they left the fire… Rain's body was emitting a lot of steam and the ice armors on his friends had mostly melt as well, but they escaped…

The blast of the explosion sent the draco soldiers flying in the distance… but before they could land on the ground, they stopped in the air while emitting smoke from their bodies… of course a fire attack wouldn't hurt them…

"Don't do that again… my back…" Jori said when they landed and used Impulse to escape.

The draco soldiers didn't try to chase them… Rain should have known that they could that self-destruct skill as well since they also could use Fire Breath. Rain immediately understood why they were tougher than before… it was because they were using Dragon Rage.

"We barely achieved half of the goal," Reca said when they reached the troops.

"It is fine, they got a lot of experience and so did we… we still have some time and the enemies already lost more than ten percent of their army of monsters," Rain said. "This is just the beginning of this war."

While Rain and his friends were returning to their base. Things were getting tense in the magic people's camp. The draco soldiers returned and while they were missing two of them and that didn't seem too much of a loss when Rain killed several of them before, the situation was like that for several reasons.

Several of the new tribe leaders watched the Draco soldiers returning to normal and then their bodies began to emit a lot of steam when they became humans. It seemed that they had overheated their bodies by fighting too much, but the battle didn't even last five minutes after they arrived.

In the heart of the camp, the newly appointed tribe leaders had gathered inside a massive tent. Their numbers, which had once exceeded thirty, were now reduced to just ten. This reduction was a result of some tribes voluntarily merging with others, their resolve improved by the recent attacks from an unknown human adversary.

Leading this effort was the newly designated representative of the council, a man who had also assumed leadership of the Gemini tribe. His name was Losar, the son of Josar.

Losar was a young man in his twenties who had ascended to his position following a tragic incident that had shaken the tribe. His father, Josar, had lost much of his prestige due to his staunch defense of Rain and the humans. Losar's unparalleled talent with the crystals further contributed to his father's diminished standing within the tribe. Explore more at empire

The circumstances surrounding his father's demise were especially tragic, as he had lost his life at his own hands, because even him deemed his father as a traitor.

"Did you get enough combat information?" Losar asked while looking to the side.

Among the gathering of tribe leaders, there was one individual who stood apart from the rest. Cloaked in a mysterious hood that concealed their face, this enigmatic figure exuded an aura that left those in attendance feeling somewhat uneasy.

While the magic people were generally cautious about strangers thanks to the recent events, they quickly welcomed this hooded individual, having benefited from various offerings and information provided by the mysterious guest. The power and knowledge the person wielded ensured that no one dared to raise concerns or objections, allowing them to operate with an air of secrecy and authority.

"Not yet, he keeps showing talent at being crafty when it comes to magic, the fact that your people made him fight for so long and obtain so much power and knowledge for war is a problem," The hooded person said.

"In other words… " Losar said.

"Defeating him will be nearly impossible when he is with his army," The hooded person said. "The beast people will have to do their part and we will have to give them the chance to do so. We can keep him busy here only with monsters, but by the time the beast people can make their move, we will have lost most of them.

Even with the help that I gave you all, you will have a hard time dealing with that army."

This hooded individual offered the magic people two choices before working with him now or working with him later. They couldn't defeat the humans without his help, or so he declared. He even helped them get stronger by making a bunch of them lose their minds and the result of that was the war that lasted two days.

Total annihilation of their forces and the reserves didn't even have the chance to join the battle…
