Kaguya-sama Wants Me to Surrender

Chapter 57: Chapter 57: See you, I want you to help me practice

[Players of The Evil of This World, Cancer of the Earth, and Buds of Capital have completed the game.]

[All players, please be prepared. The game will close in ten seconds.]

"Huh?"

Fujiwara Chika's eyes opened wide in surprise. "How did we clear the level in the blink of an eye?"

Shinomiya Kaguya's brows knitted slightly as her gaze fell on the hospital bed.

"It's actually very simple..."

Ten seconds flashed by, and before Amamiya Natsuki could finish his sentence, the world in front of them froze.

The gloomy, dim ward suddenly transformed into a sunny classroom. The three of them found themselves seated there, as if everything just now had been a dream.

The game's summon preparation time was only ten seconds—barely enough to gather one's thoughts.

Amamiya and the others were stuck in the classroom, unable even to visit the board game club.

Previously, an unlucky player had complained about being summoned while showering—wearing nothing but underwear—and nearly mistaken for a pervert.

So preparing weapons in advance was impossible. Everyone had to attend school as usual, without the luxury of carrying an arsenal around. Except for props obtained from blind boxes, items from reality couldn't be stored in the game backpack—like the leash and collar from before.

Also, it seemed that only their consciousness or soul entered the game, while their bodies remained in the real world—otherwise it would be a full transformation of a living person.

"I'm back."

Amamiya pressed his fingers between his eyebrows and looked out the window.

The sun shone brightly outside.

Members of many sports clubs were sweating and training hard on the playground—except a few evil spirits practicing together, which was unfortunate.

"Natsuki-kun, what happened just now? Why did the game end so suddenly?"

Fujiwara clasped her hands in front of her chest, curiosity sparkling in her eyes. "Where's the boss battle we agreed on?"

Amamiya crossed his fingers and glanced at the girl with the butterfly knot.

"You want to know?"

Fujiwara's eyes gleamed with anticipation. "I really want to know."

Amamiya leaned back in his chair and said, "I won't tell you."

"…Natsuki-kun, you're such a bully!"

Opening the game mailbox, Amamiya checked the completion rewards.

First was the basic clearance reward: ten game coins.

Players who just coasted through could only get the basics—enough to open a single blind box.

Then came side quests. Each vengeful spirit in each ward triggered a side quest. Due to time limits, Amamiya only completed Miss Sadako's, the Beast Girl vengeful spirit's, the Mirror spirit, and Harley Quinn's ghost card game. Other vengeful spirits were roughly handled by anti-pornography and organized crime crackdowns, yielding no rewards. Total earned: 80 game coins.

Next was the hidden mission, Hydrangea Wish, rewarding fifty game coins.

Finally, the game's hidden worldview, Flat Light.

For Sakurai, a girl with ALS, the hospital only had a fourth floor.

She lay alone in her ward, able to move only her last finger. Whenever the tablet's screen went dark, she would use that finger to light it up again, allowing faint illumination to fill the ward.

[You have cracked the hidden worldview and will receive special rewards.]

[You have successfully unlocked the Guardian Spirit column. You can now bind a Guardian Spirit.]

[After binding, you can command the Guardian Spirit to fight for you.]

[Note: Guardian Spirits include evil spirits, vengeful spirits, earthbound spirits, and heroic spirits. Consent must be obtained before binding.]

Wait—no problem with that note?

Evil and vengeful spirits make sense, but what's this about heroic spirits?

So heroic spirits still exist in this world?

Why only unlock the Guardian Spirit column? Why not hand out something like the King of Silence as a reward?

"Guardian Spirit…" Amamiya muttered, reading the description carefully. "Isn't this basically a Stand from JOJO?"

Crimson King, Platinum Heart, Golden Requiem... it was clear Guardian Spirits weren't necessarily overwhelmingly powerful.

After pondering a moment, Amamiya had his ideal candidate in mind.

Turning quietly, Fujiwara Chika happily chatted with friends. Naive and big-hearted, she had already forgotten the game entirely.

"What a pity."

Amamiya sighed helplessly.

The best Guardian Spirit was clearly the bow-tied girl in front of him—but unfortunately, humans didn't qualify.

Once separated from their anti-pornography and anti-crime combo, they were nothing.

"Hmm?"

Noticing his gaze, Fujiwara tilted her head and looked over.

Suddenly, Amamiya's little finger twitched again.

Apparently, the red string's effect worked in the real world too.

Fujiwara quietly raised her right hand to her face and made the scissors gesture:

"Hey~"

Hey what? Has Barbatos's curse spread across the multiverse?

Time flew by.

Before they knew it, it was time to go home.

The weather shifted from sunny to cloudy, threatening rain.

Shinomiya Kaguya exited school and approached a sleek black luxury car.

"It's going to rain."

The blonde girl with a lollipop opened the door for Kaguya. After Kaguya got in, she circled to the other side and sat beside her.

The driver was a gray-haired man with decades of experience and zero accidents—a true veteran.

"Let's not go back to the villa yet." Kaguya's voice was cold and calm. "I want to go somewhere."

The driver blinked, then glanced at the blonde girl.

Pop.

The blonde pulled her lollipop out, lips tinted like cherries, and tilted her head curiously:

"Where do you want to go, Miss? The mall to buy clothes?"

"I know a great lingerie store. Their winning bras come highly recommended."

"What's sexy lingerie for?" Kaguya complained. "Why would I buy that?"

The blonde answered casually,

"After reading the Manual for Raising a Loyal Boyfriend, Miss wants to practice training the boy she likes to be loyal. I get it."

"I've only read half the book. Haven't finished it!"

"And there's a boy you like..." The blonde paused, then deadpanned, "Not at all."

"Tsk~"

The blonde popped the lollipop back in and said, "Miss, tsundere has retired."

Kaguya turned away as rain and fog began falling outside the window.

"Anyway... I just want to go have a look."

Meanwhile, on his way home, Amamiya met Miko and her good friend Yurikawa Hana.

"Good afternoon, Natsuki-san."

Yurikawa blushed deeply. The button incident two afternoons ago still weighed on her mind. Now she blushed every time she saw Amamiya.

I didn't care at the time... but looking for buttons under the bed in such an embarrassing pose—my panties must have been seen!

"Good afternoon." Amamiya greeted as he approached. "Why only one umbrella?"

Miko still had dark circles and looked as lazy as a salted fish. She said weakly,

"Hana went out this morning and forgot hers."

"I was so busy reading horoscopes that I forgot my umbrella this morning," Yurikawa said, patting her chest. "Don't worry, Miko. Next time I won't forget."

Amamiya grumbled beside her,

"People who say that usually forget again."

Yurikawa puffed her cheeks. "Natsuki-kun, you're really mean."

They chatted until arriving at Miko's house. Yurikawa waved goodbye and didn't come in to study. Borrowing Miko's umbrella, she went straight home.

Amamiya held the umbrella over Miko's slender figure and said seriously,

"Miko, I need you to help me practice."

Yotsuya Miko blinked, confused: "???"
