"Come, let me see who this mad dog is," Moody muttered to himself, removing the mask of the Death Eater he had just killed. "So it's Evan Rosier. I should have known. I didn't expect him to be so deeply corrupted by the Dark Lord. It seems he and Wilkes, who was captured upstairs, were classmates. To resist arrest, he truly deserves to die."

Moody grumbled as he dealt with the bodies, but suddenly something occurred to him and he murmured:

"Speaking of which, that young wizard Anduin I saw just now, was he performing silent spellcasting? And the Death Eaters taken down here are more than those left on the main battlefield. They really are an impressive bunch."

Meanwhile, the group coming down the stairs had just returned to the main hall. The front door and the interior walls of the house were battered and scarred, clear signs of many fierce battles. Numerous Aurors and members of the Order of the Phoenix were helping with repairs. At the other end of the hall, a crowd had gathered around Sirius and Peter Pettigrew.

"James!" Lily and Alice exclaimed, each holding a child as they hurried to embrace their loved ones.

"Lily, thank God we won! You wouldn't believe what we just went through," James and the others said, unaware that Death Eaters had broken into the underground safe room, holding Lily with lingering fear.

The crowd also turned to greet the newcomers. Anduin recognized Edgar Bones, Emeline Vance, and Gideon Prewett, whom he already knew, and a man unmistakably resembling Gideon, who must be his brother Fabian. There was also a woman whose demeanor reminded him of Charles; she was likely Marlene McKinnon, Charles's aunt, whom Anduin had heard about.

Sirius and Peter Pettigrew, surrounded by people, had bandages wrapped around Sirius's torso and Peter's right arm, indicating both had been wounded in the recent battle.

Peter kept boasting about how brave he had been, telling how he rolled to dodge a spell but cut his right hand in the process. Sirius, meanwhile, bore a more serious injury but said nothing, even managing to make a funny face at Anduin when he saw him.

After hearing Peter's bragging, Anduin couldn't help but think it was ridiculous. How could he hurt himself by falling, and right on the hand holding his wand? That meant he was useless for the rest of the fight after the fall, didn't it?

Seeing the two injured men, Lily handed Harry to her husband James and stepped forward to hug them both.

"Thank you, thank you, Peter, Sirius, you are both heroes today."

Sirius tried to smile, though the wound probably hurt. With a twisted grin he said:

"It's nothing, Lily, just chasing away some riff-raff. A shame only three were left; the others were rescued, hmph!"

Augusta Longbottom, standing nearby, laughed heartily:

"Not necessarily. There are four more lying in the basement downstairs."

"Ah?" several asked at once. "There are Death Eaters in the basement too? What happened?"

Everyone then realized someone had infiltrated the basement and there had likely been a fight with Lily's group.

James's reaction was the strongest. He quickly pulled Lily close and asked anxiously:

"What's going on? Did Death Eaters get into the safe room? You weren't hurt, right?"

Augusta, again nearby, interjected:

"Can't you tell if they're hurt just by looking? For God's sake, you wouldn't believe how dangerous it was fighting those Death Eaters in the basement."

Feeling pulled by James, Lily feared Augusta might exaggerate and reveal the story about the possessed Death Eater who rose and attacked, which would surely terrify everyone. So she quickly clarified:

"Don't worry, I cast protective magic in the safe room downstairs. We were prepared thanks to Anduin's idea. As soon as they broke through the protective magic, we took care of them."

She downplayed the severity to avoid causing alarm, but the truth was that the situation had been extremely dangerous, especially with two children under one year old.

However, Augusta understood Lily's intention and said no more. Instead, she shot a severe look at her son Frank. Since they arrived, Frank had been holding Alice, touching her and looking around nervously, as if afraid she might get hurt, completely ignoring his elderly mother.

"Hey, Lily, do you know who that Death Eater who died in the basement was? He was an old classmate of yours." Mad-Eye Moody's voice arrived before he did. Limping, he moved to the front of the crowd with four Death Eaters floating behind him. Three were bound together and the other, or rather the other corpse, floated separately.

"What?" everyone exclaimed, surprised that another Death Eater had died in the safe room.

"Why did another Death Eater die? What exactly happened in the safe room? Did you kill him, Lily?" James asked anxiously.

Moody, who had just arrived, laughed loudly:

"I killed that guy. It was really dangerous a moment ago. If it hadn't been for Anduin's quick reaction, that guy who took the Blood Frenzy Potion, his Avada Kedavra could have hit your precious son."

James was stunned and looked at Lily with questioning eyes.

Just then, three people entered the house: Dumbledore, a middle-aged man with a small mustache, and a dignified-looking middle-aged woman.

Seeing them, Moody nodded and greeted:

"Dumbledore, Minister Barnold, Director Crouch."

Seeing that the Minister of Magic and the Director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement were with Dumbledore, everyone also greeted the three.

Minister Millicent Bagnold, looking at the crowd, spoke slowly and kindly:

"Everyone has worked hard today. Tonight is a victory for us against the Death Eaters. Two were killed on the spot and one Death Eater was officially arrested."

Moody, standing beside her, chuckled:

"Minister, tonight's haul is even greater. One more person was killed and three more Death Eaters were arrested."

It was then that Minister Millicent Bagnold noticed four people lying at Moody's feet and exclaimed in surprise:

"Some still slipped through?"

Barty Crouch, beside the minister, also looked with surprise at the four lying at Moody's feet. After recognizing one, he exclaimed:

"Is this Evan Rosier?"
