Darkness.
That's all Ethan saw, floating in a void of nothing. His thoughts were hazy, memories flickering in and out — the mutated monsters, the trap, that thing that looked at him like he didn't belong… and then—
Light.
He gasped as cold air rushed into his lungs.
His body dropped roughly onto a bed of snow, the impact knocking the breath out of him. His vision blurred from the sudden change. For a moment, he thought it was just another illusion, another twisted trick by the Dungeon.
But the icy wind was too real.
The forest around him was thick, the pine trees tall and layered in frost. Snowflakes drifted from above like falling feathers, and a heavy silence blanketed the world.
Ethan slowly sat up, groaning as he held his ribs. "What… the hell…"
His breath misted in the freezing air. His adventurer cloak did little to protect him.
[SYSTEM BOOTING...]
He flinched as the familiar voice returned, flickering in his mind like a broken radio.[Location: UNKNOWN.]
[World Signature: UNRECOGNIZED.]
[Analyzing dimensional energy... ERROR.]Ethan blinked. "System, where the hell are we?"[Processing...]
[Apologies. Current world data is not registered in the system's archive. This location is not part of Gekai (DanMachi World).]That hit him harder than he expected.
He stood up, wobbling slightly. The snow crunched beneath his boots. "What do you mean… not part of Gekai?"[Estimated conclusion: Host has been transported to another dimension. Cause: External interference from an unidentified entity. Forced transfer bypassed all failsafes.]"...So that thing did something," Ethan muttered, rubbing his arms for warmth. "Damn it. Why? Who was that? And why—"
His words stopped.
Because in the distance, he heard something.
Voices.
Not monsters. Not growls or footsteps. But faint human voices. Singing?
He strained his ears. It was far, but it was definitely coming from beyond the forest — the soft notes of people talking, working, maybe… preparing for something.
He squinted through the trees and caught sight of faint smoke rising into the sky. Chimneys?
Civilization.
His first sign of people.
A strange mix of relief and caution welled up in his chest. Wherever he was… at least it wasn't completely deserted.
"System, any data on the people here?" he asked.[Unable to access local culture or magic infrastructure. This world does not follow the same energy patterns as Gekai. Mana exists in low concentration. Caution advised.]"Of course it does…" Ethan muttered, pulling his cloak tight. "No magic stones. No falna. No gods. Just me and whoever lives out here."
He began walking toward the voices, stepping through snow and branches. Each step was heavy, his mind still trying to piece together what had happened.
He didn't recognize this place. It wasn't just a different dungeon level or surface town.
It was a different world.
A world he had never seen… or even imagined.
Elsewhere, in a nearby kingdom
In the heart of Arendelle, preparations for the coronation were slowly beginning. The castle buzzed with quiet anticipation. The royal staff moved with purpose, unaware that something — someone — had entered their world from a place beyond understanding.
High above, in her room, a silver-haired young woman stood by her window.
She frowned slightly as she watched the snowy horizon, feeling something shift in the world around her.
Something… unusual.
Her name was Elsa.
And something in her heart whispered:
You're not alone anymore.
