Chapter 3: Chapter 3
"I'm Shanks, the captain of this ship," Shanks said casually, while his crew moved past him, unloading supplies without missing a beat.
Lucy quietly sized them up, curiosity flickering in his gaze. 'How strong am I compared to them?'
It was a fair question. He was strong—ridiculously so, thanks to his cheat. Born with the 100x reward buff, Lucy entered this world already 100 times stronger than a normal newborn. Every push-up he did gave the results of a hundred. Every minute of training rewarded him like he'd been at it for hours.
And the results showed. "If you cause trouble, I'll make you pay!" Luffy declared, stepping forward without a hint of fear. Lucy sighed, already feeling the headache forming. Of course, he said that. With a twin like Luffy, Lucy was almost certain his cause of death wouldn't be some legendary foe—it would be this idiot's mouth.
"What's your name, kid?" Shanks asked, his easygoing smile never wavering.
"I'm Luffy! And I'm gonna be a pirate one day!" Luffy yelled, chest puffed out with pride. Lucy stood there, speechless. Of course, he'd say that.
For a moment, silence hung in the air. Then Shanks and his crew burst into laughter, doubling over like Luffy had just told the world's funniest joke.
Luffy's face twisted in confusion, quickly shifting into anger. "Stop laughing!" he snapped, fists clenched.
Shanks waved a hand, trying to calm him down, but the faint tear in the corner of his eye betrayed how hard he was holding back.
Desperate to change the subject, he glanced at Lucy. "And what about you, kid?"
Lucy shrugged. "I'm Lucy. I guess I'll be a pirate too."
Of course, he would. Why not? He might not remember much about this world, but one thing had slowly clicked over time—this used to be his favorite anime. Why? He wasn't sure., sure he would figure that out over time.
"So, Luffy and Lucy. Want to show us around?" Shanks asked with a sigh, clearly humoring the situation.
Luffy nodded eagerly, determination shining in his eyes. He wasn't just showing them around—he was keeping an eye on them, making sure they didn't "cause trouble." Lucy sighed, knowing what that meant for him: he'd have to tag along, like it or not.
As they walked, Lucy glanced at Shanks. "So, what's the world like outside this small village?" His tone was casual, but he ignored the weird looks from Shanks's crew. It probably didn't help that Luffy was still holding his hand like they were toddlers.
"Well, it's dangerous," Shanks replied, his grin widening. "There are Sea Kings out there—massive ones. Some could swallow a ship like mine whole."
Luffy's eyes immediately sparkled like stars. "Whoa! Really?!" He let go of Lucy without a second thought, practically bouncing as he begged Shanks for more stories.
"Someone as weak as you would get eaten by the smaller Sea Kings," Uta sneered, clearly aiming to provoke Luffy. It worked like a charm.
"What did you say?!" Luffy snapped, fists already clenched as he stomped toward her.
Just as the two were about to clash, Shanks stepped between them, placing a hand on each of their heads.
"Enough, you two," he sighed, giving Uta a knowing look. He could tell this wasn't malice—Uta had never been around kids her age before. This was just her awkward way of trying to make friends.
"Lucy, where are you going?" Shanks suddenly called out, spotting Lucy wandering back toward the dock.
Lucy froze mid-step, glancing behind them in confusion, then at the dock, eyes widening in shock. Without a word, he spun around and sprinted back toward the group.
"Lucy has a poor sense of direction," Luffy explained with a shrug, like it was the most normal thing in the world.
"We were walking straight… on a road," Benn Beckman muttered, a cigarette hanging from his lips as he gave Lucy a speechless look.
"Shut up!" Lucy snapped, face flushing with embarrassment. He was already self-conscious about his terrible sense of direction—he didn't need someone pointing it out.
But his reaction only made things worse. Shanks's crew burst into laughter, some doubling over while others slapped their knees like it was the funniest thing they'd seen all week.
Lucy gritted his teeth, fists clenched in frustration. Without another word, he spun around and stormed off—only to freeze when someone called out.
"Oi, kid! Wrong way!" Lucy stopped dead, his face burning as he realized he'd been walking back toward the dock.

Shanks didn't just stop at Foosha Village—he stayed for a few days. And those days were anything but boring. Luffy, unsurprisingly, spent most of his time with Uta. The two hit it off fast, bickering like old friends one moment and laughing together the next.
Meanwhile, Lucy found himself hanging around Shanks's crew, prying what little knowledge he could from their tightly sealed lips. They were friendly but cautious, clearly not the type to spill secrets to a curious kid.
"You're hopeless. Can't you go one second without getting lost?" Uta sighed, dragging Lucy along by the arm toward the bar where Shanks and the rest of the crew were gathered.
"Shut up," Lucy snorted, clearly annoyed. But not at Uta, but at his poor sense of direction.
"The least you could do is say thank you! I had to go searching for you!" Uta snapped, her patience clearly worn thin. Without warning, she punched Lucy square on the head.
"What the hell?!" Lucy cried out, clutching his head. He glared at her, furious—but that only earned him another punch.
"Don't look at me like that!" Uta huffed, crossing her arms as Lucy groaned, rubbing the fresh bump forming on his scalp. Snorting in satisfaction, Uta pushed open the bar door, and Lucy followed, grumbling under his breath.
But all complaints vanished the moment they stepped inside. Lucy froze, eyes widening in horror. Luffy, limp in Shanks's arms, suddenly slumped forward—his head hitting the floor with a sickening thud, seemingly severed from his shoulders.
"Luffy!" Lucy roared, panic surging through him like wildfire. Shanks spun around, equally shocked, but the red-haired pirate barely had time to react before a powerful aura exploded from Lucy.
It ripped through the bar like a shockwave, shaking the ground and splintering the walls. Cracks spread across the floor, spiderwebbing outward from Lucy's feet. Outside, across the village, people with weaker wills collapsed where they stood, eyes rolling back as unconsciousness claimed them.
The air grew heavy, suffocating, as Lucy stood trembling with fury, his gaze locked on his fallen twin.
"…This kid," Benn muttered, shock evident in his usually calm expression. But he wasn't alone—Shanks and the entire crew stood frozen, eyes locked on Lucy in disbelief.
Lucy, however, didn't notice. His mind was blank with panic as he exploded off the ground, rocketing toward Shanks with frightening speed.
"Whoa, kid! Luffy's alive!" Shanks shouted, quickly holding Luffy up like a shield. "Look!"
Lucy skidded to a halt, eyes widening as he saw Luffy's head stretch unnaturally, still very much attached to his body. Luffy's eyes met his causing Lucy's eyes to almost pop out.
"Nani?!" Lucy screamed, jumping back like he'd seen a ghost.
"This dumbass ate my Devil Fruit!" Shanks roared, shaking Luffy by the shoulders. "Spit it out! Cough it up!"
But the more he shook, the more Luffy's body stretched, arms and legs flailing like rubber bands.
After a few more useless attempts, Shanks slumped with a resigned sigh. "…It's gone."
"What's a Devil Fruit?" Lucy asked, eyes darting between Luffy and Shanks, worry clear on his face. Luffy, on the other hand, just stood there, looking confused and oblivious to what had just happened to him.
Shanks let out a helpless sigh, rubbing the back of his head. "A Devil Fruit is one of the rarest treasures of the sea. Eating one gives you unique powers… but it takes away your ability to swim. Forever."
"What?!" Luffy screamed, eyes bulging in horror. "I'll never be able to swim again?!"
"You dumbass," Lucy muttered, speechless with his brother.
