Lust System: Sword Genius in Women's World

Chapter 77 The Duel [Part 4]

I forced myself to my feet, grabbing my sword again. The sand crunched beneath my boots as I steadied my stance. My body ached, but I wasn't finished yet. I had to outthink her.

I couldn't get close enough to attack her, my wind spell was too weak to do anything to her, and I couldn't keep disrupting her spell since she could use a spell without any hand movement like what she just did.

A smile formed on my face and Mirabel noticed, she had the advantage and the momentum so me smiling was a surprise to her but I had something else up my sleeves.

I activated War Buff and immediately felt a surge of strength rush through my body. My muscles felt lighter, my reflexes sharper, my eyes were focused on Mirabel and in my head I was already in front of her.

I charged toward her again, faster than before, unbelievably fast that Mirabel was so shocked and launched another blast of ice shards, but I dodged them easily this time. The wind whipped at my clothes, but I ignored it, focusing on her.

The next moment I was in front of her.

Her eyes widened in shock, and I saw the flicker of panic cross her face. She wasn't expecting me to get this close so quickly, especially after how she'd been controlling the fight. For a split second, her guard was down.

I slashed my sword diagonally toward her, but she reacted faster than I thought.

She threw up a barrier of wind, and my blade clashed against it with a loud crack. The force of the impact reverberated through my arms, but I pushed harder. The wind shield started to crack, splitting like glass under the weight of my attack and finally my sword broke through it hitting her at the side of her face and sent her flying.

Mirabel landed with a thud but surprisingly she stood up almost immediately and I saw a crack while I just hit, her entire body began cracking and falling off.

Mirabel coated her entire body with ice, it was unbelievable, I knew the weight of my attack and I infused Mana to make it strong, even though her barrier slowed it down it was still enough to knock her out.

I charged forward again and Mirabel gritted her teeth and summoned more ice, swirling it around her like a protective cocoon.

I stepped back, narrowly avoiding a sharp ice spike that shot toward my chest. It grazed my side.

Her spells were powerful, but I knew she was burning through her mana. All the spells she cast was powerful so, it must've taken a toll on her reserves.

That gave me the edge I needed, and since I had war buff for the next hour, I was going to win.

"Not bad," I called out, circling her. "But how much longer can you keep this up?"

"I can keep going for the next three days, that's how powerful I am" Mirabel spoke as she placed her hands on the ground.

This time bigger ice spikes formed from the ground and shot towards me, but it wasn't a problem as I cut through them and used my speed to charge Mirabel.

I feinted to the left, drawing her attention, and just as she shifted to defend that side, I kicked off to the right. My sudden change of direction caught her off guard. I swung my sword again, aiming low this time, hoping to break through her defense and I did but she kicked off the ground and leaped backwards.

But this was even worse, I was going to get her when she landed

Mirabel landed stumbling back as she tried to reinforce her defenses, but it was too late. I didn't give her time to recover. With my enhanced speed from the War Buff, I pressed forward, swinging my sword with calculated precision.

She raised her arm, casting a gust of wind to try and push me back, but I was ready for it. I shifted my stance, using the force of the wind to spin around and come at her from the other side. The ice she summoned wasn't fast enough to block me.

My sword met her ice shards head-on, and I slashed through them like they were nothing and finally I hit her, this time I didn't use any of the blunt edge, just the side and sent her flying.

This time she rolled on the ground and once she stopped rolling she raised her head up, she was bleeding from her nose.

I stopped as I saw this, I thought she was just going to crack and shed an ice skin like the first time but this time she was bleeding, then I looked through Miss Sofia.

"I'm still in the fight" Mirabel spoke as she stood up.

"You are bleeding pretty badly, I was going to knock you out but you are quite stubborn" I muttered.

"You know, I didn't think you were this powerful, if you were a mage with this level of swordsmanship, I'm sire you'll be a Royal knight, but did you think you won" Mirabel spoke.

"I haven't won yet, but I'm going to"

"Ohh, I'm just getting started" Mirabel spoke as she placed her hands on the ground.

I held my sword and took a stance but I didn't rush in, I had no idea what she was going to do so I stood there and a mirror appeared in front of her and I could see myself in the mirror and the next moment an exact replica of me emerged from the mirror.

Though it was made out of ice, it looked human, it stood up and cracked it's neck and holding it sword tight.

"This is currently my best spell, I'm able to replicate my opponent with exactly his powers, now it's two against one" Mirabel chuckled.

To be honest I kinda lost hope for a second, I couldn't possibly be facing a clone of myself which had the same power I have and be facing Mirabel at the same time, but I had no choice, I couldn't possibly give up.

Mirabel had really upped the stakes, and now it was two against one.

The clone made the first move, charging at me with blinding speed. I barely had time to raise my sword to block as our blades clashed with a sharp, ringing sound. The force of the impact shot up my arms, nearly knocking me off balance. It felt like hitting a wall.

I gritted my teeth, pushing back, but the clone didn't give me a second to recover. It swung again, faster and harder, aiming for my head. I ducked just in time, the blade cutting through the air above me. Before I could counterattack, it was on me again, this time driving its sword toward my gut.

I twisted out of the way, feeling the edge of the blade graze my side. Blood trickled down, but I didn't have time to think about it. The clone was relentless, pressing me from every angle, each strike as precise as mine would be. I tried to create some distance, but every time I stepped back, it closed the gap instantly, mirroring my movements perfectly.

It felt like the clone was trying to kill me. I was getting nowhere. I had to do something fast, or I'd wear myself out before I even got to Mirabel.

The clone feinted a high strike, and I fell for it. Its real attack came low, sweeping my legs. I crashed into the sand, my sword flying from my grip. The clone didn't hesitate and leapt into the air with it's sword.

I rolled to the side just in time, grabbing my sword as I came up. The clone's blade buried itself into the sand where I had been, but it recovered immediately, turning to face me again.

This wasn't working. I couldn't keep up like this. Every time I moved, it anticipated me. I needed to change the pattern of my strike, I need to be even faster and stronger than I was some seconds ago.

When the clone rushed me again, I didn't move. Instead, I stood my ground, waiting until the last possible moment. As it raised its sword for a powerful downward strike, I stepped in close, too close for it to swing properly, and slammed the hilt of my sword into its chest.

The clone staggered back, surprised.

That was my opening. I followed up with a quick horizontal slash, but the clone blocked it — barely. I pressed harder, forcing its blade aside. Just as it began to recover, I delivered a sharp kick to its knee, sending it stumbling backward.

But it wasn't over yet. The clone recovered almost instantly. It slashed toward my head, and I ducked. The next attack came low — I parried, but the force nearly knocked the sword from my hand.

Sweat dripped down my face as I struggled to match its speed and power. I was fighting myself, and it wasn't getting any easier.
