----------------------------------------------------------

After being knocked to the ground, the Daywalker quickly flipped over and stood up.

The vampire's attack followed him like a shadow.

Gwen shot spider silk from her wrist, knocking away the approaching enemy and covering the Daywalker.

"Bang!"

The Daywalker stood up and pulled the trigger, sending the bullet whizzing towards the vampire.

The strong shock force knocked the screaming vampire back, and blood splattered into the air with a foul smell.

The Daywalker, with an unchanged expression, pulled the trigger and drew a dart from his palm, stabbing it into the vampire's side.

The silver dart pierced the opponent, then he kicked out, sending the vampire crashing to the ground.

With a "bang," the ground shook slightly.

Turning the dart in his hand, he quickly shot it out.

The dart pierced the vampire's chest and embedded itself deeply into the wall.

Though the Daywalker quickly dispatched several vampires, more continued to appear.

The new breed of vampire, capable of instantaneous movement and possessing remarkable strength, was entirely different from the cannon fodder vampires he had fought before.

On the other side, Gwen felt uneasy.

She had thought that, with her strength, she could handle a few vampires.

With the help of this person called the Daywalker, she believed they could easily clear the group of vampires. But she hadn't anticipated that the enemies would be so formidable.

With a "bang," Gwen spun around and kicked, concentrating all her strength into the blow to the vampire's head.

Although her power had greatly increased after becoming Spider-Woman, she lacked systematic training and was fighting purely based on her natural talent.

This method of combat was obviously less efficient than Daywalker's.

Just as the two were starting to fall behind, something happened suddenly.

A figure descended from the sky.

Peter, clad in a black exoskeleton, appeared on the battlefield.

"Bang!"

His swift and powerful punch struck a vampire's head.

The immense force caused it to explode in a burst of blood mist, instantly killing the vampire.

Then Peter leaned forward, and countless black rainstorm bullets emerged from behind him.

The corrosive rain of bullets, carrying immense power, rained down on all the enemies present.

It was like a sudden downpour, striking every blood-sucking creature with precision.

The corrosive bullets instantly pierced the bodies of the vampires.

The grating sound of corrosion echoed, accompanied by the agonized roars of the vampires.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The sounds rang out in rapid succession, and countless vampires fell to the ground, slowly being corroded while howling in pain.

More vampires rushed forward, but their fate was the same as those already writhing in agony.

The entire alley was filled with an increasingly unpleasant stench.

Gwen breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Peter appear.

She had complete faith in Peter's strength.

The outcome was as expected: Peter had successfully wiped out the group of vampires.

The Daywalker, observing Peter's sudden arrival, lowered his shotgun after a brief pause.

But he still eyed Peter with caution, sensing something ominous about him.

He could smell the scent of a blood-sucking creature on Peter.

Though the scent was unusual.

"It seems you're in trouble."

After eliminating the vampires, Peter said to Gwen.

"It's not a big issue, but thank you for the help."

Gwen almost called out Peter's name.

But, considering the presence of others, she had to pretend not to know him.

This act of wearing a mask and pretending not to know someone felt strange to Gwen.

It felt like performing on stage with a mask.

Peter, unaware of the chaotic thoughts in Gwen's mind, turned his attention to the man in sunglasses, wearing a cool expression.

Seeing the man's attire, Peter quickly recognized his identity.

Blade, formerly known as Eric Brooks.

His mother had been bitten by a vampire while pregnant, and she died shortly after giving birth to him. As a result, he has both human and vampire blood. He became a vampire hunter as he grew up.

He possesses strength, speed, heightened senses, and endurance far beyond that of an ordinary human. His weapon of choice is a silver sword, and he's also proficient in various firearms.

The man in front of him was Blade, no doubt about it.

"Are you Blade?" Peter asked.

"I prefer the name 'Daywalker,'" Blade replied, slinging his silver sword behind his back. "I've heard of you, Spider-Man."

Peter, noticing Blade's wariness, replied, "Really? It seems my reputation isn't so bad, but why do you still have a dart in your hand?"

Peter pretended to be confused. "Am I your hunting target too?"

Blade didn't expect Peter to notice the dart in his hand. He held it out and said, "No, but you alerted me. I smelled a vampire-like scent on you. Though it's different, it's more dangerous."

Gwen, who was standing nearby, looked puzzled as she overheard Blade's remark about Peter's vampire scent.

"No, that's not true," Gwen frowned and said to Blade. "He's not a vampire."

Peter nodded but didn't deny Blade's words. Instead, he took a step closer to Blade and asked, "Then why do I smell a stronger vampire scent on you?"

Peter spoke casually, "Maybe... because we're of the same kind."

Though Peter appeared calm, Blade felt the presence of a formidable opponent before him.

He wanted to throw the dart, but his instincts warned him.

If he threw the dart, he might be counterattacked by this man.

Though Blade trusted his own strength, at this moment, he felt that the half-vampire before him was the most dangerous opponent he had ever faced.

Just as Blade hesitated, a siren suddenly wailed in the distance.

Realizing it was unwise to stay much longer, Blade put away his dart, glanced at Peter one last time, then turned and left swiftly.

"Stop spacing out!"

After Blade departed, Peter patted Gwen on the head. "Unless you want to get caught red-handed by your dad!"

Gwen immediately snapped to attention upon hearing Peter's remark.

"That would be really bad!"

As Gwen spoke, she shot out spider silk from her wrist and swung from the alley to a tall building, following Peter's lead.

"Why did he say you smell like a vampire?"

Standing atop a high-rise building, Gwen asked Peter, still confused.

"Probably because I've killed a lot of vampire creatures," Peter replied absentmindedly, watching Gwen's expression to gauge if she would ask about the black cat advertisement.

Gwen, lost in thought about vampires, likely didn't know about the ad and hadn't fully processed what had just happened.

Vampires, Daywalkers.

These new revelations made her feel like she had stepped into a whole new world.

"Anyway, Peter, thanks for coming to my rescue."

Gwen said, slightly frustrated. "I was still thinking I'd be dealing with minor problems, but if I really faced these dark creatures, I wouldn't have the power to handle them."

"No one is born mature, not even superheroes," Peter comforted Gwen.

Feeling the mist and rain, Gwen raised her head and asked Peter, "Why don't you need to grow up, Peter? It seems like you were mature and better than me from the start, and I've always relied on you."

Peter, with a hint of mystery, replied, "Maybe I'm different."

"Different? How so?"

"Or maybe I'm something more powerful, something that exists outside of your understanding. Maybe I'm Death, maybe I'm the Lord of Hell, the Lord of the Dark Abyss, or Shiva, the Destroyer of Worlds, or maybe I'm just a thread that fell from Atropos's scissors, lying at your feet."

After saying this, Peter's black mask slowly faded.

He reached out into the mist, paused, then said to Gwen, "It's starting to rain. Let's go."

"Alright."

Gwen obediently followed Peter's lead.

In her mind, she thought, If Peter is the thread that fell from Atropos's scissors, then I am the one who spins the web.

I must weave Peter into the web of my fate.

---

In a dim room, Blade removed his leather jacket and sat heavily in a chair.

The blinds were torn, and cars sped by outside, their headlights flashing across the room.

In the converted warehouse base, Blade struggled to pull out a bandage and wrap it around his arm.

His reflection in the nearby mirror showed a tired, expressionless face.

He seemed to see another soul in the mirror.

A soul that belonged to a vampire.

Panting, Blade wrapped his wound and took out a hemostatic tool.

Though he could heal himself, his regenerative abilities were limited and couldn't instantly restore him to full strength.

After bandaging the wound, he stood up.

He grabbed his silver sword to defend himself.

The young man was right. Blade could smell a stronger vampire scent on him.

Because he himself was half-vampire.

He possessed the abilities of a vampire, but none of its weaknesses.

He could choose between the human or vampire camps.

He chose to hunt vampires, hoping to one day return to a fully human life.

Listening to the rain outside, Blade took out a photo from his pocket.

A smiling black woman appeared in the photo.

It was his mother.

Blade leaned forward in his chair, staring at the photo.

His mother had disappeared after being bitten by a vampire, and he had been searching for her ever since.

He always believed she was still alive.

This was the reason for his hatred of vampires.

Putting away the photo, Blade gazed at the rain outside.

Spider-Man.

Are you truly the same as me?
