It felt like a fan convention.
It was a little awkward at first, but once Parker's talkative style took over, even the smooth-talking Tony didn't know how to react. He often glanced at Arthur, silently pleading for help.
But Arthur was lost in his own thoughts and paid no attention.
In fact, Arthur was thinking about something important.
The key character in the plot of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was Harry Osborn.
Harry's situation was unique; he had a genetic disorder that was far from easy to cure.
Moreover, the boy suspected that Spider-Man's genes were the key to everything, but Parker knew that those genes were poison to him, not the cure.
As a result, Harry would eventually take an extreme path.
"This is a story about the heart!" Arthur muttered to himself. "I can't exactly go up to Harry and tell him, 'Harry, be nice,' can I? It's not like I'm watching a drama and sending comments."
After thinking for a while, Arthur realized that in order to solve this problem, he needed to cure Harry's genetic disorder before he went too far.
"Do I need to restart the Super Soldier Serum project?" Arthur frowned. That was a bit difficult.
With the current resources, it seemed insufficient to restart the project.
"Then... focus on his genetic disorder... Wait, old Osborn left Harry a legacy before he died... maybe that's the key."
With this thought, Arthur began to form a plan in his mind.
When he came to his senses and looked up, he saw Tony looking completely exhausted, his energy completely drained.
"What's going on?" Arthur asked in confusion as he looked at Tony and then at Spider-Man, who was still eagerly explaining the significance of his suit. Arthur couldn't help but smile wryly.
He slapped his forehead, stood up and said to Parker, "All right, you've got your license. Let's go."
"Go where?" Parker was startled; right now he didn't want to go anywhere, he just wanted to spend more time with his idol.
"You're leaving already? I actually have a meeting to attend!" Tony said seriously and got up.
Arthur couldn't help but twitch his lips. If he didn't know that Pepper had already taken over as CEO and was handling all the company's affairs, leaving Tony as the idle boss, he would actually have been fooled by Tony's convincing acting.
Parker, not knowing any of this, quickly got up when he heard Tony had something to do, not wanting to disturb him. "All right, we'll go then."
Tony was a little hesitant as he watched them leave, but after a moment he thought of something important and said to Spider-Man, "I'll leave you my number. If you need anything, you can call me."
After he said it, he regretted it. Wasn't this just asking for trouble?
"Alright!"
Parker didn't give Tony a chance to back out and immediately rushed forward to take the number.
Tony winced, but then remembered something and turned to Arthur. "Oh, by the way, I got something for you."
"What?"
Arthur had the feeling that every time he met Tony, he always ended up with a gift.
"This."
Tony walked over to the bar and picked up a laptop.
"This... is really unnecessary. I can just buy one myself," Arthur blinked. While Tony's computers were certainly better than what was for sale outside, getting a laptop as a gift... was he trying to encourage Arthur to study better?
Tony didn't waste time talking. After launching a program, Arthur felt a flash of light on his wristband. A moment later there was a "beep" followed by the message: "Program loaded successfully!"
"A communications program," Tony explained. "The core technology is not much different from a regular phone, but it allows you to make calls."
Arthur tapped it, and immediately a virtual screen appeared. "Advance technology!"
"This is the crystallization of wisdom," Tony said. "The biggest benefit is the wide signal range. Of course, the exact effective distance is still unclear. But it works globally, and even if you're outside the atmosphere, you can still receive calls. Besides that, the rest is for you to figure out. My expected goal is to be able to make video calls with you in Asgard. Of course, considering the satellite issue, let's just say I hope it will be possible."
Arthur nodded and then said, "So, should I carry two satellites with me to Asgard next time?"
"Great idea! Do you think they'd allow it?" Tony's eyes widened with excitement.
"Well... probably not," Arthur replied. "How about we try to persuade Odin by proposing to improve Asgard's living environment and policies for convenience?"
"I think you might get punched," Tony said.
"Then never mind."
Arthur quickly ushered Parker away. After Parker received the phone, he walked away contentedly.
---
When they arrived at the bottom of Stark Industries, Parker carefully tucked the phone away and said sincerely, "You and your uncle really have a great relationship."
"How can you tell?" Arthur asked.
"He made a program just for you so you could stay in touch with him no matter how far you are. That's caring."
Parker said excitedly, "It's really something to be jealous of."
"Uh..." Arthur thought for a moment. It seemed like he couldn't really refute that.
He smiled and said, "Alright, we're leaving."
In fact, they didn't have a specific destination. They just spent some time testing Parker's abilities and confirming his rapid growth. After some casual conversation, Spider-Man took his leave.
Arthur escorted him back but didn't say much. Talking about Harry's situation now wouldn't help, and warning Gwen about the dangers she might face was meaningless to do.
The best course of action was to dissolve everything without making a fuss.
But for now, nothing was likely to happen— at least not tonight.
Arthur figured, since the night was still young, it was a good time to go back and get back his things.
"An idiot (Abomination) has been staying with others for this long. It's time to bring my stuff back. I can't keep inconveniencing them."
He checked the time; it was still early. So, he first grabbed some food and by 8 PM, he was on the road.
After nearly two hours of driving, he arrived at his destination.
A research facility!
"A purely military facility, or...?"
Under the cover of night, Arthur donned a brand-new black battle suit and a black mask. Two points of starlight flickered from his eyes as he exhaled lightly, "Why do I have this sudden feeling that something unexpected might happen tonight?"
