Watching Gwen's retreating figure, Raven couldn't help but laugh at the little one's words. But then, a trace of concern crept onto her face.

"Will she really be okay on her own? Shouldn't we follow her?"

Mike pointed to his eye and said reassuringly, "Don't worry, I'm watching her."

Raven nodded and hugged Mike's arm, smiling. "Alright, let's go enjoy our alone time—don't let Gwen down."

A few minutes later, Gwen stood in front of a game stall, patting her pockets as she eyed the plush toys on display. Her gaze swept across the shelf until it stopped on a fuzzy panda-shaped hat with dangling legs. Her eyes lit up.

"Ha! That's perfect for Daddy," she muttered, imagining Mike wearing it—and couldn't help but giggle.

She pulled five yuan from her pocket and handed it to the stall owner. "Sir, I want to play once."

The owner smiled warmly and handed her ten darts. "Which prize are you aiming for?"

"That one!"

Gwen pointed to the fluffy panda hat.

"You'll need to score at least ninety points to win that," the owner said. "It's not easy—the bullseye's only worth ten."

"No problem! Watch me!" Gwen replied, full of confidence.

How hard could this be? Just aim and throw, right? Looked simple enough.

She closed one eye, took aim at the target, and threw her first dart with determination.

Thunk!

There was a soft thud as the dart hit the board—but that was all.

Gwen waved it off. "A little harder than I thought. Alright, second dart, here we go!"

Whoosh!

The dart sailed... and missed entirely.

Gwen's face darkened.

At this rate, she wouldn't even come close to getting that hat.

"No worries, no worries. That was just a warm-up. I'll get it this time," she whispered, trying to cheer herself on.

She threw again and again—whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!—but the more darts she threw, the darker her expression became.

Not even twenty points.

Fuming, she slammed another five yuan down on the counter. "One more try!"

"Alrighty!" the stall owner laughed. "Good luck, little miss!"

A moment later, Gwen slapped down another five yuan—her fifth attempt.

She gritted her teeth in frustration.

She'd managed to get fifty points now. Just two more decent throws and she could do it!

She couldn't just give up now—that would mean wasting all the money she'd already spent. The more she thought about it, the more annoyed she got.

Just as she reached for the darts again, a charming female voice spoke up behind her.

"Little one, how about I throw them for you?"

Gwen turned around and saw a woman with golden hair and a strikingly pretty face smiling at her.

But what puzzled Gwen was that the woman was wearing a long white dress... covered by an old, worn-out suit jacket.

The woman's smile was gentle, and her light green eyes were captivating.

Gwen gave her a quick once-over and said, "Sure!"

She handed the darts over.

The woman took them and began throwing—one after another, each dart hitting the bullseye with perfect precision, as if the flight path never changed.

A full hundred points!

"You're amazing!" Gwen's eyes widened in awe, gazing at the woman with admiration.

The woman lifted her chin slightly. "Which prize do you want?"

"That one, that one!" Gwen pointed excitedly at the panda hat.

The owner laughed as he grabbed the prize. "It's yours."

"Thank you!"

Gwen gleefully placed the hat on her head—only for it to be a bit too big. With a soft plop, it slid down and covered her eyes.

She took it off again and mumbled, "This'll fit Daddy perfectly."

"Thank you, big sister!" Gwen beamed up at the woman.

The woman crouched down with a smile. "Can you tell me your name?"

"Gwen Kent."

Kent, huh?

The woman silently repeated the name in her mind, and her smile grew even warmer. "Do you happen to have a dad named Clark?"

If she had just been suspicious earlier—because Gwen gave off a familiar "scent"—now she was almost certain.

"Daddy?" Gwen blinked, then a mischievous glint appeared in her eyes. "How do you know that?"

The woman smiled mysteriously. "Because you carry his scent."

Of course, by "scent," she didn't mean anything you could smell with your nose. It was more like a feeling—a unique energy that her ability allowed her to sense.

"Smell?"

Gwen looked down and sniffed her clothes.

There was no real scent—just the fragrance of laundry detergent.

"You know me—uh, I mean, my dad?"

She quickly corrected herself.

"We were classmates," the woman said with a warm smile. "How is he these days?"

"Not great," Gwen sighed. "He got divorced and now raises me on his own."

"Oh?" The woman's eyes lit up. "Is he here? Could you take me to see him?"

"You like him? Even though he's divorced... and raising a kid like me?"

The woman was momentarily stunned—she hadn't expected Gwen to ask something like that. But after a brief hesitation, she nodded.

Gwen gave her a thoughtful look, then suddenly grinned. "Alright, big sis—you passed!"

"Passed?"

"Uhh, I lied just now. Clark's actually my older brother. He's not married yet."

Gwen stuck out her tongue mischievously.

The woman let out a soft laugh.

Instead of being angry, she found Gwen even more adorable.

Just then, two men appeared behind the woman.

Her expression instantly turned cold. She rose to her feet and moved to shield Gwen behind her.

"Well, well... found yourself a new toy, Carrie?"

A buzz-cut man and a dripping wet man stood before them, eyes filled with malice as they stared at Gwen.

"Back off," Carrie said flatly, her voice ice-cold, eyes full of disgust.

"Don't think that just because Blackheart likes you, you can boss us around, you bitch!"

The buzz-cut man sneered, and cracks began forming on his skin.

"Hey, hey, Dirt Fiend, chill out!"

The soaked man—who looked like he'd just crawled out of a river—raised a hand and said, "Carrie might be Blackheart's, but this little girl…"

He gave Gwen a sideways glance and noticed her watching curiously.

Licking his lips, he said darkly, "How about you hand her over and let us have a little taste?"

"Hahaha!"

Dirt Fiend laughed gleefully and reached out to grab Gwen.

Carrie's eyes flashed—and in an instant, an invisible force froze his arm in place.

Dirt Fiend's face paled. The water-washed man's expression darkened too, his hands twisting into unnatural shapes.

"Don't forget why Blackheart summoned all of you in the first place," Carrie said coldly, locking her sharp gaze on them. "Besides…"

She narrowed her eyes with a cruel smirk. "You two trash bags think you're a match for me?"

A surge of invisible power radiated from Carrie, locking both men in place.

Dirt Fiend and Water Fiend could feel the overwhelming force threatening to crush them at any moment.

"Spare us!" they cried. "We're allies!"

"Allies?"

Carrie tilted her head slightly.

But when she noticed Gwen watching, her expression softened. With a wave of her hand, she said dismissively, "Get lost."
