Chapter 32: Chapter 32: It's Called the Philosopher's Stone
Secret?
Noah found it a little strange. This might be a secret to Harry, but it was definitely not a secret to him, right, Mr. Potter?
Noah, being someone deeply involved in the main storyline, naturally knew why Harry was looking for information about Nicholas Flamel.
To be honest, coming to ask them wasn't a bad choice—it was actually the right one.
Unfortunately for Harry, aside from himself and Hermione, Evan, Kenn, and Lance were all very interested in this so-called secret!
It was obvious that unless Harry revealed the reason for his curiosity, they wouldn't tell him anything!
Seeing Harry's embarrassed and uneasy expression as he hesitated to speak, Noah found the situation quite amusing.
Harry was adorable as a child, but unfortunately, he didn't age well. Noah didn't mind teasing him while he still had that innocence.
Stroking his chin, Noah suddenly said, "Actually, this so-called secret of yours might not be a secret to us, Harry."
"Huh?" Harry looked at Noah in confusion. I know you're really smart, but there's no way you can guess what I'm thinking just from a name… right?
"Noah, have you figured something out?" Hermione asked, turning to look at Noah curiously.
"Maybe. We all know Nicholas Flamel, right? Everyone knows his achievements."
"Of course, he's a legendary alchemist."
"Then, let's assume his greatest achievement is hidden within Hogwarts. That would explain Harry's so-called secret."
"Oh my god! How is that possible?"
Kenn immediately connected the dots after Noah's explanation.
What was Nicholas Flamel's greatest creation?
That would be the magical stone capable of granting immortality!
But if that thing was actually in Hogwarts, wouldn't that mean Nicholas Flamel was basically signing his own death warrant?
"Nothing is impossible. Do you all remember the night we dealt with the troll? Professor Snape seemed to have injured his leg, didn't he?"
Noah didn't hesitate to explain his theory. He had been in this world for quite a while, yet he hadn't witnessed much of the story unfolding. That, in itself, was a failure. He was more than happy to stir things up a little and tease young Harry.
"Yes, he was limping," Evan recalled, nodding in agreement. Kenn and the others also remembered.
"I observed it at the time—there were bite marks and blood, and it wasn't a small wound. Whatever bit him had to be a large dog. Of course, he might have been in a hurry; otherwise, given his level, he wouldn't have been bitten so easily."
"Oh my god, it's the three-headed dog!"
Hermione suddenly realized something. "Harry and I got caught by a trick staircase and ended up in the forbidden corridor. We had to hide from Filch, so we ducked into a random room, and inside… there was a three-headed dog!"
"Wow, cool! Hermione, I didn't expect you to have such an adventure."
Evan laughed, but upon noticing Hermione's disapproving look, he quickly straightened his expression.
"Noah, if I remember correctly, three-headed dogs are used to guard treasures. Could it be that…"
"Uh-huh, exactly. The troll incident was likely planned. Professor Snape must have realized something was wrong. Since he's probably one of the people protecting the treasure, he rushed to check on it. And in his haste, he got bitten."
"Wait… why assume he wasn't trying to steal the treasure?" Harry asked.
To be honest, Harry was feeling completely overwhelmed.
When Noah first mentioned Snape's injured leg, he felt a little nervous. When Evan brought up the three-headed dog guarding something, he started to feel lost.
And now?
Noah just casually pointed out that Snape had likely been bitten while protecting the treasure.
Harry felt completely numb.
What kind of monsters are these people?
He had spent so much time researching this. He had flipped through who knows how many books in the library. He had wracked his brain for weeks. He had even pried information out of Hagrid!
But these people? They pieced everything together in just a few sentences.
Am I really that slow?
And the fact that they were defending Snape… that made Harry even more uncomfortable.
Did they not realize Snape had almost killed him during Quidditch?
Wait… do they even watch Quidditch?
"It's not a good habit to suspect your professors. Of course, it's not impossible either… I did hear he was a former Death Eater," Noah said with a shrug. He knew exactly who Snape was, but he wasn't about to explain.
"Noah, are you saying someone is trying to steal the magic treasure?" Kenn asked, deep in thought.
"Maybe. Even though I didn't grow up in the wizarding world, I study all subjects seriously, so I know a lot. Lately, haven't there been rumors about him returning?"
"Whoa… that's not good news."
The atmosphere suddenly turned heavy.
Everyone had thought of something unpleasant. But soon, they shook it off.
After all, their headmaster was Professor Dumbledore, the greatest wizard of their time.
And besides, they were just students. They had no business getting involved in such dangerous matters.
Their real job was to study hard and improve their magic.
That way, when the time came, they wouldn't be helpless.
"It looks like we need to train even harder from now on," Lance said, suddenly motivated.
"Yeah, maybe one day, we'll be the heroes," Evan added with a grin.
"Hah! You guys? Please. If anyone here is going to be a hero, it's me. I'm the strongest after Noah, so if you want to save the world, you better get in line behind me," Kenn declared confidently.
"What are you all talking about?" Hermione asked, still a bit lost.
"We'll discuss it later," Noah said with a smile. Then, he stood up, ready to leave.
Kenn and the others followed suit. They had lost interest in lunch.
Noah's revelation today had been shocking, but it hadn't shaken them.
If anything, it only motivated them to prepare for the future.
With enough training, they would be ready.
"Hey, wait!"
Seeing them leave, Harry panicked. He still didn't fully understand everything.
"Who's that person? And what's this treasure you're all talking about?"
"You idiot!" Lance rolled his eyes. "That person is that person. Think about it! He's connected to you. And as for the treasure? Ugh, how bad are you at studying? That thing is called the Philosopher's Stone!"
