Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Looking for Trouble
Although Harry was confused, he got the answer he wanted, but the students of Ravenclaw didn't seem to be very friendly to him.
Of course, he didn't care. What he cared about was that he now knew the key item: the Philosopher's Stone. He decided to investigate its effects and then go to Hagrid to ask about it.
Harry acted as he thought. He took Ron and ran back to the Gryffindor table, grabbing some food casually.
After chatting with Noah for so long, he was already starving, and this time, he sincerely felt how vast the knowledge gap between him and Noah was.
Noah didn't know what Harry was planning, nor did he have the time to care.
Right now, the six members of the Wizard Alliance were all very busy. After Noah explained the Dark Lord and what happened today to Hermione and Ernie, they were initially scared but soon began to exude unimaginable enthusiasm!
Indeed, Voldemort, the Dark Lord, had an infamous reputation in the British wizarding world.
But he was only a threat in Britain. Professor Dumbledore had once defeated Grindelwald, a dark wizard who terrorized Europe and even the United States!
So, as long as they were under Dumbledore's protection, they would be fine. Of course, if they just relied on that, Noah might seriously question whether he had chosen the right people for his group.
Noah didn't even need to say anything; they immediately realized that just because they had Dumbledore's protection didn't mean they could afford to relax!
If they worked hard and kept improving, maybe one day, they could become heroes themselves!
"You know, it's better to rely on yourself than on others. So if we work hard, maybe we can defeat that guy ourselves!"
When this thought appeared in Kenn and the others' minds, they all became excited.
Before, they might have thought they were crazy. But now, things were different. They had access to knowledge and resources beyond their wildest dreams, plus plenty of time.
And Noah had discovered a method to improve their magic and mental strength—though they weren't entirely sure if it worked yet, seeing how powerful Noah was, they had to believe in it.
So, as long as they put in enough effort, their future would be bright!
"By then, our Wizard Alliance will continue to grow, and maybe we'll be the ones leading the fight against Voldemort and his Death Eaters!"
Once they understood this, Kenn and the others became even more motivated. Now, the Room of Requirement was constantly filled with duels between young wizards and enormous magical creatures!
This made it impossible for Noah to find a quiet place to read. In the end, he had to make a decision.
"One at a time! I'll see if I can expand this place later. Otherwise, try practicing in pairs! And if that doesn't work, summon a real professor to practice with! Stop crowding the room!"
Noah's suggestion wasn't perfect, but at least the others agreed with it.
After discussing, they decided to find a professor to practice with, but before that, Noah had to demonstrate a real wizard's duel so they could see what it was like.
Noah didn't refuse—he was also curious to test the strength of a professor summoned by the Room of Requirement.
If the professor turned out to be too strong, Noah would abandon this plan immediately because it wouldn't be suitable for their current level.
Noah walked to the center of the room and took out his wand. He considered what kind of opponent he should face.
After hesitating for a moment, he gritted his teeth and decided to pick someone stronger than himself—someone he had no chance of defeating anyway.
Professor Snape.
"Summon Professor Snape. I want to duel him."
Professor Snape was one of the best duelists at Hogwarts, and Noah had learned a lot of magic from him.
So, he decided to challenge Snape's projection. As for Dumbledore? Forget it. That old man could probably defeat him with a single spell, so Noah wasn't even going to try.
A thick black mist appeared opposite Noah, swirling before slowly condensing into a human figure.
Dressed in flowing black robes, with shoulder-length greasy hair and a sharp, pale face, Professor Snape appeared, his expression unreadable as he silently drew his wand.
"Diffindo!"
Noah took a deep breath and gathered his magic. Without any hesitation, he attacked immediately!
This wasn't a duel—Noah treated it as an actual battle. There was no point in following formal dueling rules. The most important thing was figuring out how to defeat the enemy as quickly as possible!
But Snape's projection didn't seem surprised.
The magic Noah used was nonverbal magic, something Snape himself was a master of.
So, Snape attacked at the exact same time as Noah.
His spell was also nonverbal—but his casting speed completely outclassed Noah's!
Two streaks of silver light collided mid-air, dispersing into a spray of ashes.
"It seems like this 'Professor Snape' is at his peak strength. His spellcasting speed is terrifying!"
Noah thought to himself, but he had no time to dwell on it. He immediately layered multiple defensive spells on himself.
It turned out to be the right decision.
Because just as he finished, Snape's next spell struck him!
In an instant, Noah felt his body stiffen—his limbs locked in place!
"Damn it! Petrificus Totalus!"
Snape had used the Full Body-Bind Curse, and he did it nonverbally.
Noah knew that nonverbal spellcasting was an advanced skill—usually only accessible to third-year students and beyond.
But Professor Snape was a master of nonverbal magic, and the summoned projection inherited his skill at its peak.
This was bad.
"Damn it, I really screwed up—this is terrifying! And he hasn't even used any of the Unforgivable Curses yet!"
Noah broke into a cold sweat. His defensive magic had been shattered with a single curse!
This forced him to pour even more magic and focus into rebuilding his defenses.
But this also meant that Noah was now completely on the defensive.
And in a duel, offense is always stronger than defense.
Noah had to keep expending his energy just to maintain his defenses, while Snape could freely attack. Even if Snape only used weaker spells, constant offense would eventually break through Noah's barriers.
At this rate…
Noah wouldn't last much longer.
