Chapter 59: Chapter 58.

Chapter 58.

But as the proud prince of Asgard, Thor naturally looked down on the idea of working a regular job. Aside from his incredible physique, immense strength, unmatched combat skills, and ability to summon lightning, he had no other talents suitable for Earth's workforce. No one was about to see Thor, the God of Thunder, hauling bricks at a construction site.

So, when he heard Tony promise to cover all alliance members' expenses, Thor didn't hesitate for a second. He immediately agreed to join the alliance—whose name hadn't even been decided yet.

'The mighty Thor, son of Odin, the mythical God of Thunder… selling himself out for money?'

Felix struggled to hold back his laughter. The image was too absurd.

"Alright then, seeing how happy Thor is to join, what are the rest of you waiting for?" Tony said enthusiastically, grinning.

"Thor, don't worry. I've got all your expenses on Earth covered from now on. Full sponsorship!"

Tony's prideful announcement was bold—perhaps a little too bold. But then again, what couldn't a billionaire do?

"I'll join too," came Steve's calm voice.

Everyone turned, a bit surprised. The stoic Captain America had been silent until now, clearly deep in thought.

Was it Tony's speech that convinced him? Or was it the promise of having his expenses covered?

Although he was a national icon, the truth was that Steve Rogers' existence had yet to be revealed to the public. He couldn't exactly go out and get a job, and he was currently relying on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s financial support. The cost of living in modern America was no joke—even Captain America couldn't afford a place of his own and lived in a modest apartment arranged by the agency.

Of course, that was just a surface-level joke. Steve would never compromise his principles for money.

In truth, what convinced him was the practicality and necessity of the alliance. Today's battle with Dormammu had left him deeply concerned. The Earth had faced something far beyond what any army or government could handle.

Who knew when another crisis like this might strike?

Forming a united front, preparing ahead of time, made perfect sense. And Steve had witnessed firsthand the strength of Felix and Thor. As much as his pride stung, he knew he wouldn't last a second in a solo fight against either of them.

Teamwork, especially with such powerful allies, was the –best way to protect Earth.

Sure, S.H.I.E.L.D. had plans to build their own Avengers, and Steve suspected he was meant to be part of that. But as Tony said—revenge is no substitute for prevention.

Besides, joining a government-backed group could eventually force him to follow orders he might disagree with.

"Felix, that just leaves you and Ms. Anne. What are your thoughts?"

All eyes turned to Felix as Tony posed the question.

If there was one person Tony really hoped would join, it was Felix. Not only were they friends, but Felix's ability to glimpse into the future would be an incredible asset—one that could help them avoid countless crises before they even began.

And when it came to raw power, with the Ancient One gone, Felix was easily Earth's strongest known combatant.

"Tony, I think Anne can join you," Felix said after a long pause. "But as for me... I'm afraid I'll have to pass. I don't like getting involved in too much trouble."

If this were the beginning of his time in the Marvel universe, he would have been thrilled at the chance to fight alongside Tony, Captain, and Thor. But after everything—especially Dormammu's early invasion—Felix had learned to tread carefully. The timeline had already shifted too much. Too many unpredictable elements now lingered, and it was safer not to bind himself too tightly to the center of the storm.

"Felix, don't be so quick to turn us down," Tony said with a grin. "If you don't want trouble, how about this—you become a special non-member."

"A what?"

"A non-member who doesn't have to attend meetings, follow any protocols, or take orders from anyone. But when the big stuff goes down, we call you. You get all the benefits, none of the bureaucracy."

Everyone chuckled. Felix sighed.

'A part-time Avenger, huh?' It wasn't a bad deal.

"When we run into threats we can handle, we won't bother you," Tony explained, his tone sincere. "But if it's something beyond us, that's when we'll need you to step in and take care of it yourself."

"In that way, you won't be burdened with all the day-to-day stuff, and we can rest easy knowing we have a real trump card in our corner. After all, if something comes along that you can't beat, well... then we're probably screwed anyway."

Tony looked directly at Felix as he finished his pitch.

"I…"

Felix hesitated, clearly torn. But Tony wasn't finished yet.

"Felix, I know you've seen the future of this world. And I understand you've been reluctant to tell me what dangers lie ahead—maybe you have your reasons. Maybe you think interfering will only make things worse."

"But the truth is, your presence has already caused massive changes. You've triggered a butterfly effect none of us know and can fully predict. Just look at what's already happened."

"The Captain was found and awakened two years earlier than he should have been. My armor development skyrocketed in speed. And Thor... well, I don't know what he was supposed to be at this point, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't dual-wielding divine weapons this early on."

"Clearly, you've been preparing us. You've been nudging the future in subtle ways—maybe to make sure we survive what's coming."

Tony paused for a breath, then leaned in just slightly, lowering his voice.

"But here's what I want you to understand, Felix. You keep seeing yourself as an outsider. But you're not. Not anymore. You've got friends here—us. And your girlfriend is from this world too. Whether you like it or not, this is your home now."

"So the survival of this world… is your survival too."

"Alright, alright! Enough already, Tony! I get it, okay? I'll join!" Felix sighed, rubbing his forehead in exasperation. Tony's speech had started to sound like a sermon from a certain monk in a certain ancient legend.

Tony beamed. "Could've saved us all some time—and my breath—if you'd just said that in the first place."

With that settled, Tony clapped his hands and grinned at the group. "Now that we've got our founding members, it's time for the most important part… We need a name for our alliance!"

He looked around with anticipation.

There were only five of them now, but each one was a powerhouse in their own right. With the addition of Felix and Thor, Tony was confident that this alliance would be the force standing between Earth and annihilation. But a great team needed a great name.

"I think we should call it The Strongest!" Thor declared confidently.

Everyone blinked.

Well... with Thor's level of human-world knowledge, no one was exactly surprised.

"'The Guardians' might be better," Captain America suggested diplomatically. "It reflects our mission—to protect the Earth."

Tony shook his head.

"Too generic. What about 'The Light Council'? Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"

"The Light Council sounds like a shady cult, Tony," Steve replied bluntly. Then he turned to Felix.

"What do you say, Felix?"

Felix, caught off guard, blinked. He hadn't been paying full attention and now everyone was staring at him.

"I can't seem to call—" he started instinctively.

But something sparked in his mind…

Would you like me to help you come up with a fitting name for their alliance, perhaps with meanings tied to their mission or characters?
