Chapter 109: : The Thorn Duel & The First Deathmatch

📘 Chapter 109

🌿 Scene 1: Zui vs. Fiora of Thorns

In the tranquil heart of Bloomshade Forest, the leaves began to rot.

Zui stood inside Verdion, now upgraded with the forest's blessing. In front of her floated a massive biomechanical mech made of thorny vines and metal petals—a creature fused from corrupted nature and machine.

Its pilot was Fiora, a once-promising eco-engineer who had gone rogue.

"You're too soft," Fiora spat from her cockpit. "Nature isn't about peace. It's about dominance."

Vines struck like whips.

Zui blocked with Verdion's newly formed Petal Guard—a shield made from regenerated crystalline flora. But Fiora's attacks came too fast, too wild.

"You bonded with the forest?" Fiora laughed. "I own it now."

Suddenly, Verdion began rejecting Zui's commands. The forest around her was being corrupted—Fiora had infected its roots.

Zui closed her eyes.

"Then I'll cut the infection."

She overrode Verdion's safety—activating the Bio-luminal Core Overload, temporarily pushing its abilities beyond limit.

The petals on Verdion's arms became blades.

With one powerful charge, Zui sliced through Fiora's vine tendrils and dove straight into the heart of the corrupted growth.

"Verdion… cleanse it."

A burst of green Krono energy surged outward—pure, dense, and healing.

Fiora screamed as her mecha was consumed by purification. Her core broke, and she ejected, unconscious.

The forest slowly began to regrow, whispering its thanks.

But Zui fell to her knees in exhaustion—her mech's systems overloaded.

From behind the trees, someone clapped.

It was Aeson, the shadowy operative of the Mecha Guild, who had been secretly observing her growth.

"She might be ready after all."

🕳️ Scene 2: Tenebra Omega's Revelation

Deep beneath the Martian vault, Aeris, Yen, and the mysterious child stared at the reawakening Tenebra Omega.

Suddenly, the mech spoke—not through voice, but through memory projection.

The chamber filled with images.

A much younger Kael injecting an unknown Krono into a prototype mech.A secret lab.The death of a scientist… who looked exactly like Zeron and Kael's mother. And a sealed memory where a child Zeron cried as his mother whispered:

"When the purple awakens, don't fear it. Fear what it's hiding."

Tenebra's core pulsed, syncing momentarily with Aeris.

"He is the key," the mech whispered. "But he is also the gate."

"Gate to what?" Aeris demanded.

But Tenebra fell silent again, and the child in the pod suddenly opened his eyes—revealing dual-colored irises, one purple and one black.

⚔️ Scene 3: Zeron's First Deathmatch Begins

In the underworld arena known as the Rustpit, thousands of voices roared.

Zeron, still wearing a patched-up uniform and old gloves, stepped into the battle pit.

Across from him towered Kragg the Slicer, a brutal mech-pilot known for triple Krono cores—Blue, Red, and Black. His robot was a modified Crush-Drill, armed with rotating saws and high-velocity thrusters.

"You sure you belong here, paper boy?" Kragg sneered.

Zeron nodded calmly.

"I'm not here to win. I'm here to learn."

The match began.

Kragg rushed with speed unnatural for his size. Zeron barely dodged—no weapons, no powers, just agility and study.

But then Zeron used his intellect.

He hacked a signal frequency mid-battle, using arena sensors to predict Kragg's movement patterns.

"Left feint, then mid-torso swing… predictable."

Using scrap metal debris as makeshift tools, he rerouted a signal into Kragg's balance sensors.

Kragg stumbled.

"What the hell?!"

Zeron jumped on his mech's arm and jammed a servo plug into a joint—disabling one drill.

The crowd gasped.

"He's winning… without a robot?!"

Kragg roared and unleashed his Black Krono mode—but Zeron, anticipating the core burst, jumped backward just in time to avoid the self-destruct shockwave that Kragg hadn't expected from overclocking.

Kragg's mech exploded.

Zeron stood alone in the smoke, scratched and bruised, but smiling faintly.

"Not power… but precision."

The audience was stunned. Zeron had won Round 1—as a powerless tactician.

💢 Scene 4: Kael Confronts the Past

Kael dragged the captured Obscura general into a memory chamber.

"You erased my past," Kael growled. "You'll give it back."

"You volunteered," the general whispered. "You asked us to make you forget."

Kael flinched.

Suddenly, a memory fragment shot into his mind—

His mother crying.A dark experiment.A voice: "One of your sons must bear the burden of the Purple. Choose."

Kael fell to his knees.

"I… chose to protect him."
