Chapter 141: Christopher vs The Knight II
Christopher vs The Knight II
As Christopher walked towards the knight, it held its shield in front of its body and bashed its sword on its front twice. It was an obvious attempt to taunt him.
'Oh?' Christopher found the gesture amusing. He was going to attack anyway. There was no need to taunt him now. Was there?
With that thought, he leaned forward and shot towards the knight like an arrow.
The knight braced itself, and Christopher unleashed a vicious kick into the shield that caused the ground behind the knight to explode into countless ice blocks.
However, the knight wasn't deterred in the slightest as a biting Aura of cold covered its sword, which it swung with incredible force and precision.
Christopher kicked off the shield to avoid the slash, which released a massive slash of ice that sliced through the air.
Christopher flipped and landed on the ground before shooting forward again, this time with Norn in front of him
He reached the knight in an instant, and the two of them pulled their weapons back and swung, the class resulting in a titanic explosion that shook the entire arena.
Ordinarily speaking, using a dagger to clash with a one-handed longsword, especially one as big as the one the knight wielded, wasn't wise.
However, that only applied to ordinary blade fights. These two already transcended the realm of normal by a lot, so it wasn't all that surprising when Christopher managed to match the force the knight unleashed with relative ease.
After the initial clash, their bodies immediately blurred as they started moving far faster than before, their bodies blinking across the arena to the point that it seemed like they were teleporting.
Now, Christopher no longer stood on the defensive as he moved to match the knight in whatever it threw at him, Norn dancing skillfully in his hand as they traded blows.
But as they fought, he couldn't help but be impressed. The knight truly was an incredible fighter.
When it equipped its shield, its combat style changed, and it went from a chilling and precise offensive style to a style that made it feel like he was facing a steady mountain.
It exercised incredible patience as it blocked and deflected Christopher's attacks while using insidious means to lead him into positions it could use to counterattack.
No movements were wasted, and every action was well thought out and executed, giving one the feeling that they were fighting a true veteran. Which they were.
Needless to say, it was impressive.
Still, with the way things were going, the fight wasn't going to end anytime soon.
The knight knew this as well, as it wasted no time and took things up a notch.
Its aura suddenly surged before becoming deeper, and the blue of its body became darker while the cold it let off became even colder.
Its speed and strength instantly multiplied, and Christopher was almost caught off guard when his current strength started to get overwhelmed.
"Good!" He was nowhere near deterred though, as he allowed himself to use a little bit more of his strength.
His stance changed, and he exhaled before taking a step.
Then he appeared in front of the knight, seemingly instantly, and swung Norn, which was glowing.
The knight raised its shield to block, and it did. However. The knight still staggered.
Christopher took advantage of this and dropped down, and performed a leg sweep. Any other person would have had the bones in their legs shattered. But Christopher had the Duality Nexus Physique. Every cell in his body was of a different caliber than most people.

As such, he effortlessly swept the knight off its feet. But instead of falling, it rotated its body back and performed a backhand spring, which allowed it to create some distance between itself and Christopher.
The knight then looked down slightly, and in its armor below, where its ribs would be, fine white powder could be seen falling out, almost like blood.
The knight tilted its head, and Christopher watched as the armor mended itself, and the knight stood back up.
Christopher wasn't perturbed. He was just satisfied that what he did worked.
He'd been trying to think of ways to use Norn without automatically killing his opponent, and he allowed the thing with his sheath's energy accumulation since, realistically, he could use it just once in a fight, so it wasn't too overpowered.
Other than that, though, there wasn't a whole lot he could use without immediately taking out his opponent. So he came up with something himself.
So that move he used just now to hit the knight despite it having blocked Norn was something he called Fated Strike, and to sum it up, using it meant that it was the enemy's fate to get hit, even if they blocked or dodged.
Moreover, it was flexible, so Christopher could tone down the amount of power it expressed. Which was why the knight was damaged on its side and not its brain.
"How was that? Surprised that I cut through your armor?" Christopher taunted, and the knight simply tilted its head.
Then the blue light in its eyes blazed, and a bone-chilling Aura erupted from it.
The Aura swept through the arena in an instant, and Christopher tensed a little.
'Oh?' He felt the Aura of the knight undergo a qualitative change. It was still at the peak of the mortal stage, which Christopher decided to call the level before transcending, but it felt fundamentally different.
Now, the knight's armor had turned completely glacial blue, and its height had increased by a few inches.
'Now that's impressive looking.' Christopher thought before leaning backward, and a glacial blue sword passed over him an instant later. Then the sword swung down and Christopher ignored physics and moved to the side to avoid the strike, and when it hit the ground, the force made it explode and travel forward, continuously shattering the floor until it reached the edge of the area which exploded.
Christopher backed away, but the sword seemed to follow him like a ghost that wouldn't leave him alone no matter how much he retreated. Moreover, it was getting closer.
Without much choice, Christopher paused to deflect the attack. But when he did, the force behind it caused his arms to tremble fiercely and Norn almost flew out of his hands. But he managed to deflect the attack, and in doing so, deflected the force which destroyed another part of the arena when it was sent away from him.
He then sidestepped a shield bash that destroyed the ground and tried to retreat to get some breathing room, but the knight was on him relentlessly.
In a few moments, Christopher could be seen dodging and deflecting attacks like his life depended on it, and wherever he and the Knight passed, untold destruction littered the area.
Moreover, it only got worse.
After dodging a particularly fierce slash, Christopher was halted for a moment as several ice hands grabbed his feet. He shattered them, but it halted him just enough for the knight to perform a swing that he wouldn't be able to dodge.
Clicking his tongue, Christopher raised Norn and blocked the hit head-on. But he didn't try to resist the force and let it carry him along. As such, he was sent flying, and the knight chased after him.
It leaped above Christopher and propelled itself with ice, its blade being suffused densely with the element and growing several times larger before it thrust down with devastating power.
Christopher spun and pointed his free hand at the descending blade, and a complex magic circle appeared before a multi-layered barrier formed between himself and the knight, each layer becoming denser.
The knight collided with it and the first few barriers shattered like glass, but the difficulty ramped up after that and each one broke after the knight increased the force they used. But even if the speed at which they broke slowed down, they were still breaking.
In the last three, Christopher increased his Mana output, but so did the knight, and the frigid energy surrounding it erupted and entered the sword which pulsed and descended.
The final three barriers shattered and the knight descended on Christopher.
A titanic explosion of ice and snow erupted and the whole mountain shook dangerously. Numerous avalanches were triggered and many beasts ran for cover as the apocalyptic scene played out.
Most would think that anyone who endured such a devastating onslaught would be nothing but frozen meat paste, and they'd be correct. It was just that, Christopher wasn't anyone.
When the snow finally receded, a shocking scene could be witnessed.
Christopher was standing calmly as his cloak flapped in the wind. There wasn't any sort of damage on him whatsoever, and his free hand was raised, and amazingly, it had caught the sword of the knight.
There was no damage on Christopher, and the only sign that the attack had even affected him slightly was the fact that the glove on that hand was torn apart, revealing his flawless skin.
"You're filled with surprises huh?" He said with genuine amazement and gently pushed back against the sword.
It was gentle, yet it effortlessly flung the knight nearly a hundred meters away.
Christopher stared at his unharmed hand and sighed.
He could get rid of every barrier he possessed, but his Transcendent barrier was a passive skill. One that endured Lenax's full power Dragon's breath. Meaning that unless one was at the Apex rank, they had no hope of hurting him.
Still, that was fine.
"Let's say you won round one." Christopher said and cracked his neck and started to walk forward.
For the first time since he began his new training, he was doing his beloved elemental fusion.
Light, Gravity, and Fire all condensed around his body as Christopher uttered calmly.
"Hypernova Drive."
