My Daily Life As A Hybrid Succubus

Chapter 6: Poor Lumi...

Kaelen had a gut feeling that something was wrong. It first started the moment he met the beautiful athletic woman, who saved his son, even though he didn't need saving.

He was simply grateful that someone would even try. The thing that made him have this wrongness with the situation was because although he saw with his own eyes that the woman was ten times more beautiful than his wife, he felt nothing.

Kaelen had never once thought of himself as an unfaithful man, he loved his wife. But he did appreciate beautiful woman when he saw them, and sometimes fantasized about them, but those were harmless dreams.

The wrongness continued to persist when that woman met his wife, there was a sort of connection that instantly formed between them. He had observed the woman's minute change of expression, but he could swear at one point he saw her smirking.

But what made everything more wrong was that although, he himself didn't feel anything for that woman, it seemed she provoked some kind of long repressed feeling in his wife.

But although he felt all those wrongness, he sensed no danger whatsoever in that girl, so he left her with his wife. Who used to be a capable bandit and had slaughtered and plundered from powerful man who were skilled in killing stronger men than her.

That should attest to how strong Zahra was in her prime and still is in her current age. When they were bandits they had fallen in love in spite of the fact that their love would be dangerous for the both of them.

To preserve their love they did a very dangerous thing, they planned a big job, and betrayed their friends, and were able to run away with their lives intact. And have since been in hiding.

They came to live happily, and very much in peace. Their lives became even better when Zahra got pregnant, it was the happiest day of their lives.

And ever since then, they have continued on being content, even though there were some problems, such as the fact that his wife didn't seem to enjoy any of their sexual activities which made him feel less of a man.

And other problems having to do with the isolation that kept them from the world. It was hard sometimes to be honest, but at the end of the day, they had eachother and nothing was more important.

Kaelen sighed, as he dragged his son with him back to their home, as his gut feeling told him, something happened. When they reached their home, they saw the beautiful woman coming out of the house with an urgent expression which reminded Kaelen of the day he and Zahra had to run away after they betrayed their friends.

It was the same expression of someone having done something, they knew they shouldn't. Kaelen this time was certain, something had happened to Zahra. He took out his bow and arrow, drawing the string back with steady hands, whilst his eyes became sharp as he glared at the woman.

"Where's my wife?"

•••

"Where my wife?"

The husband asked me about Zahra with a cold expression and a drawn bow aimed at me, with a steady hand. For now I chose to ignored the deadly weapon aimed at me, and started to think about how I was going to respond to this man's question.

His eyes told me there won't be reasoning with him until he sees his wife with his very own eyes. Closing the distance to attack would also be impossible due to the fact his definitely cautious of me.

And even if I could close the distance, would I really be able to kill him in front of his son? I don't see myself orphaning an innocent due to my own mistakes I should be paying for.

"I said where's my wife?!!"

Seeing me not reply to his previous question, his expression changed and he took a few steps closer to me. I glanced at the boy, as he also took out his own bow and arrow to back up his father.

I don't want to do this, but what other choice do I have? I don't want to die, even at the cost of orphaning a child. If some day he was to take revenge on me, I'll be ready to receive it, but for now all I care about is my survival.

"I sai—"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it, you want to know about your wife, well.. she's still alive if that's what you're asking, although I am stalling for some time so that she can get dressed up, if you know what I mean."

I smirked at him, as realisation flashed in his gaze when he understood what I was implying. I slowly reached into my pocket, and grasped my knife, as the man dropped his bow and arrow, and ran towards his house.

The moment he was about to pass by me on my left, I used my reaction time and huntress speed as well as my Huntress strength to grab him by the back of his neck, I brought him forward and used him as a shield so that the boy doesn't shoot an arrow at me.

Before Kaelen could react to my strength, and get himself out of this situation, I channeled his flaring emotions of betrayal, anger and frustration into myself draining him of every reason to fight.

As I did all that in mere seconds I also unsheathed my knife, and instantly stabbed him in the neck, striking perfectly at the jugular. The boy screamed for his father, as he let go of his weapon and ran up to me.

I took out the knife, and blood sprayed out of his neck, as he felt limp and I let him fall on the ground with a thud. The boy got to his father and begged for him to wake up, while hugging his head, but he was long gone.

Tears were streaming down his face, as he cried like any child would seeing the parent they loved die right before their very eyes. I shook my head pitifully, full of remorse, before deciding to walk around the body and leave this cursed place.

It was truly pitiful how easily I disposed of him, if it were not for the fact he loved his wife enough to let down his guard, it would've been a different story with that bow aimed at me.

I might be really fast, but if the boars death is any indication, his a real archer who could match my speed with ease. As I walked away, I heard the boy's voice.

"Big sis, w-what have you done?"

That question hit me straight in the gut. It's the same question I've been asking myself since killing Zahra. I don't know what I've done, all I know is that I had to survive no matter the cost.

"I did what I had to do," I said.

I was about to take the first step out of here when I heard.

"I will kill you, you hear me. I'll kill you!!"

I smiled, an empty sad smile. Yes, you will kill me, because I deserve it. That's why you have to live, become stronger, and come back for me, little one. I took a deep breath then took my first step.

"No matter what, I will find you and kill you and everyone you love!!"

My entire body froze and I snapped my head towards the boy. The look on my face must've terrified him, because his pants became we. And his expression was one beholden by genuine fear.

"You shouldn't have said that," I heard myself whisper as I felt my vision darkening, "you shouldn't have threatened mama, the one person I love."

*Poor Lumi, I'm taking over this time.*

Plea...se n-no..
