My Real Job is Spying on Konoha, but I'm Also its Hokage

Chapter 74: Chapter 76: Mei Terumi's Defeat

"This is the end for me!" the young man thought, staring at the sea before him with despair. A dead end in front, pursuers behind—there was no escape.

"Don't resist. I won't kill you," Scallop's voice followed. The young man was a Konoha spy who had escaped the Hidden Mist with intelligence. The best course of action was to capture him alive and extract the valuable information from his mind.

"You won't succeed!" the young man said, a look of defiance on his face.

"Hmph, not so easy," Scallop said, knowing he intended to take his own life. He flickered and appeared right in front of him.

Hmm? A fist the size of a sandbag suddenly filled Scallop's vision. The next thing he knew, he was flying. His body hit the ground like a cannonball. BOOM! The earth cracked around him, dust flying everywhere.

The young man's eyes widened. The sudden turn of events was bewildering. He instinctively turned his head and saw Tsunade standing not far away, her green haori with the 'gamble' kanji fluttering in the wind.

"L-Lady Tsunade?!" he recognized her, his face filled with the ecstatic joy of a survivor. It's Tsunade? Is the intel I brought out that important? Though he didn't understand, he knew he was saved.

"Follow me," Tsunade said, turning and heading into the forest. She was worried about Haneul facing two opponents. The young man quickly followed.

Soon, Tsunade arrived at the battlefield. She stopped, surprised. The situation was much better than she had imagined. Haneul actually had the upper hand against a Chunin and a Special Jonin. Tsunade smiled with pride. As expected of my student.

The next second, she frowned slightly. It wasn't that Haneul was at a disadvantage, but she had sensed someone else nearby. It seems the other side has the same idea as me—bringing out their village's genius for some training. We just happened to run into each other. This is a bit troublesome. She wasn't afraid of a fight, but she had two liabilities with her.

In the forest, the battle shifted again. Although Mei had been intimidated by Haneul, she quickly recovered. Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet Technique! She formed hand seals rapidly, channeling her chakra. But just as the jutsu was about to form in her throat, Haneul was already in front of her.

"Too slow!" Haneul said, slashing at her with his two-handed grip. Mei's hand seal speed wasn't actually slow, but against his Body Flicker and 100% speed boost, it wasn't fast enough.

Just then, a terrifying sound of rushing wind filled the air, as if a meteor had been dropped into the sea. Haneul's expression stiffened. An enormous blade was swinging towards him, nearly twice his height. Its features were too distinct for him not to recognize it. The Executioner's Blade!

In the original story, it was Zabuza Momochi's sword, and before him, it belonged to Juuzou Biwa. Damn it! I've become the substitute! Haneul realized he was now in Naruto's shoes, encountering a Jonin-level enemy on his first mission outside the village. The only difference was that Naruto's was a C-Rank mission, and his was B-Rank.

A graceful figure appeared. Tsunade stood in front of Haneul and threw a punch. The Executioner's Blade was sent flying back.

"As expected of Princess Tsunade," a young man said, catching the blade, his arm going numb from the force. He had short black hair, a cross-shaped scar on his right cheek, and red stripes painted on the lower half of his face.

"Juuzou Biwa," Tsunade said, casually grabbing Mei. Mei struggled for a moment but eventually gave up. However, her wild spirit was untamed, and she glared fiercely at Haneul.

"What are you looking at?" Haneul was not intimidated. He reached out and, to her enraged glare, patted her head. "This is the treatment for losers," he said with a grin. He could finally be the one to pat someone else's head!

"You bastard! Just you wait!" Mei's body trembled with anger. If she weren't restrained by Tsunade, she would have bitten him.

"Oh yeah?" Haneul raised an eyebrow and snatched her wallet.

"You shameless thief!" Mei gritted out.

"Keep talking," Haneul threatened. "You believe I'll..." He didn't finish, but Mei immediately fell silent, sensing he was capable of much worse.

"Princess Tsunade, let's make a deal. You return her to us, and I'll let you leave," Juuzou Biwa said, glancing at Mei. "You're strong, but we have numbers. In a fight, you won't be able to protect the other two." As he spoke, another squad of Mist Anbu appeared nearby. As for the stolen intel, a single Chunin wouldn't have anything particularly important. If not for Mei's training, they wouldn't even be here.

"Fine," Tsunade agreed without much thought.

"Thank you for your cooperation," Juuzou said, holding out his hand. "Please."

"You two go first," Tsunade said to Haneul and the injured operative.

"Yes, ma'am," Haneul wanted to protest, but seeing Tsunade's look, he knew there was no room for negotiation. The two of them turned and ran towards the coast. Tsunade stood her ground, waiting.

Juuzou, Cod, and the others kept their promise and didn't pursue. "It seems you all value this little girl quite a lot," Tsunade said, sizing up Mei with a chuckle. "Her performance just now was indeed impressive."

"Likewise," Juuzou said, his eyes narrowed. "Your student also performed admirably, Princess Tsunade."

"Here," Tsunade casually tossed Mei out, then retreated backward and vanished. Cod quickly moved to catch her.

"I'm fine," Mei said, landing steadily on her feet. She looked towards the coast, her expression shifting between anger and frustration.

"His name is Haneul. He's Tsunade's student and quite famous in Konoha," Juuzou said with a sinister smile. "Losing to him is no disgrace."

Haneul? Mei clenched her fists. I'll remember you! You damn bastard! She swore she would one day repay the humiliation she had suffered today.

On the boat at the coast.

Haneul was anxious until he saw Tsunade, then he finally relaxed.

"Let's go," Tsunade said, boarding the boat. "Our objective is complete. There's no need to get entangled with them." There was another reason she didn't say. Given how much they valued Mei, if she were killed, it could spark a war between Konoha and the Hidden Mist. While the Mist was weaker than the Leaf, she feared the Hidden Cloud would take advantage of the chaos. Of course, her top priority was Haneul's safety. She was unwilling to put him in danger.

"Yes," Haneul nodded. He understood why she hadn't fought. Just then, two lines of text appeared before his eyes. He was stunned for a moment, then overjoyed.

[D-Rank Talent Trait: A Lot of Water.]

Activation Condition: Defeat a young Mei Terumi.

Effect: Water Style talent increased by 30% from its base rate.

As expected of the future Mizukage! He had skipped E-Rank entirely and gone straight to D-Rank.
