Naruto Birdcage

Chapter 347: Ch 347 : Intersecting Worlds

Moon, Mining Area.

Boom!

A gigantic black monster crashed to the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust.

With a calm expression, Hakumen dusted off the dirt that had settled on him and stepped onto the creature's body.

The monster stood over ten meters tall, wearing a strange white mask on its head.

What was even more peculiar was the gaping hole in its chest.

It was merely large in size, but not particularly powerful—its only ability seemed to be shooting energy beams.

Hakumen had easily taken it down without dealing a fatal blow.

"Lord Hakumen." A ninja approached—it was the overseer of the mining area.

"How did it appear?" Hakumen asked.

"It came from outside."

"Outside?" Hakumen was slightly surprised.

The mining area was sealed off, and most of the workers, even many of the ninjas, were unaware that they were on the Moon.

If it came from outside, did that mean this monster was native to the Moon?

But when he had first arrived with His Majesty, they had thoroughly explored this place…

Hakumen furrowed his brows in thought.

The creature was so massive that there was no way to transport it back to Earth via the teleportation array.

He issued an order: "Send someone to report to His Majesty. Reassure the frightened workers and give them a pay raise."

"Yes!"

Meanwhile, on Earth—Konoha.

The rain poured relentlessly.

The figure perched on the utility pole had also noticed Makoto and turned their gaze toward him.

In an instant, Makoto teleported right in front of the person.

The girl was startled and immediately leaped backward, but the moment she did, she realized with shock that she couldn't move—her entire body was frozen in midair.

"Who are you?" Makoto asked.

"Who are you?! Where is this?!" The girl shot back.

Clang!

The blade at her waist instantly left its sheath, now gripped in Makoto's hand.

It was no ordinary sword—Makoto could feel the energy pulsing from it.

Looking at the girl's appearance and attire, an absurd thought formed in his mind.

After a brief silence, Makoto asked, "Does it have a name?"

The girl's eyes flickered.

"Sode no Shirayuki."

Clang!

Makoto returned the sword to its sheath, then slowly guided the girl's body down to the open space in front of the Reincarnation Shrine.

His gaze lifted toward the spatial rift extending upward from the top of the shrine.

"Can you see it?" Makoto asked.

"See what?" the girl responded.

She was now able to move freely—Makoto had released his hold on her.

Am I the only one who can see this spatial rift…?

Makoto pondered silently.

The girl spoke again. "Where exactly is this place? Who are you?"

"This is Konoha."

"Konoha…" She repeated the unfamiliar name under her breath.

Makoto continued, "Did you come alone?"

A person from another world… yet she hadn't been summoned by the Solarity Tower.

What was going on with this spatial rift above the Reincarnation Shrine?

Just as Makoto was lost in thought, another figure suddenly appeared.

A member of the Anbu, kneeling on one knee in the heavy rain.

"Your Majesty, the monster in Guanghan Grounds has already been subdued by Lord Hakumen. He requests that you come take a look."

Your Majesty?

The girl was utterly shocked upon hearing those words.

She stared at Makoto—this man is an emperor?

Makoto slowly asked, "What did the monster look like?"

The Anbu replied, "Its entire body was pitch black, over ten meters tall, wearing a white mask on its head, with a hole in its chest."

"It's a Hollow!" The girl's expression changed instantly, her emotions surging.

"Take me there now! Otherwise, it's going to be dangerous!"

Makoto cast her a calm glance. "Didn't you just hear that it's already been subdued? What's the panic?"

The girl froze for a moment.

"Tell me your name."

"…Kuchiki Rukia." The girl finally answered, then asked in return, "And you?"

"Just call me 'Your Majesty'." Makoto said indifferently before heading straight toward the Reincarnation Shrine.

"Follow me."

Hearing this, Rukia quickly caught up.

Inside the great hall, souls continued to be transported in an unending stream.

Seeing this, Rukia was completely stunned.

"This…"

However, as soon as Makoto stepped inside, his brows furrowed.

Originally, these souls should have been transferred to the Pure Land upon arrival.

But now, the transfer technique was glowing with an eerie light—and the dark spatial rift had emerged precisely from this technique.

"What's going on with all… this?" Rukia couldn't help but ask.

By "this," she was referring to the souls.

"Send them to the Pure Land." Makoto commanded.

Rukia frowned. "Who exactly are you? This is supposed to be the job of us Shinigami."

Makoto examined the technique carefully and discovered, to his shock, that its connection to the Pure Land had been severed.

Alarmed, he quickly placed a soul coordinate on one of the spirits about to be transferred.

As the soul disappeared into the technique, the soul coordinate vanished along with it.

It had been completely erased—a fate different from what had happened to Sasuke and Hinata before.

Makoto frowned slightly and immediately severed the Solarity Tower's connection.

The souls within the Reincarnation Shrine were no longer restrained and began wandering about in confusion.

"What did you do?" Rukia couldn't help but ask upon seeing this.

Without hesitation, she drew her sword and used the hilt to perform soul burials for the restless spirits.

Soul burial, as the name suggests, is the process of sending souls to their rightful place—the cycle of reincarnation.

Makoto watched as a soul before him dissolved into shimmering light and vanished.

Once again, he applied a soul coordinate to one of the spirits.

Yet, after it underwent the soul burial, he realized that he could still sense it.

It's still in this world!

Without hesitation, he tore open a spatial gate and pulled Rukia—who had yet to finish performing the soul burials—inside with him.

The two of them emerged high in the sky.

Above them, blue skies and white clouds stretched endlessly; below them, densely packed buildings extended as far as the eye could see.

"This place is…?" Makoto murmured.

"The Soul Society," Rukia replied.

But inwardly, she was in shock.

He didn't use a Senkaimon…

He just directly traveled from the Living World to the Soul Society!

What the hell is going on?!

Before she could process it further, Makoto once again tore open a spatial gate and brought her back.

Inside the Reincarnation Shrine, Makoto gazed out the window, deep in thought.

The night was bitterly cold, and the rain poured down relentlessly.

It was as if the blue skies and white clouds from earlier had been nothing more than an illusion.

Makoto gradually pieced his thoughts together.

The Pure Land of this world had only recently entered a state of paralysis, and he had just begun working with the Sage of Six Paths to repair it.

Then, for some unknown reason, this spatial rift appeared—and people started crossing over…

Or rather, it wasn't just people crossing over.

The entire Soul Society had merged into this world!

Possessing mastery over space-time, Makoto was able to confirm it—right now, the Soul Society existed within the world of the Naruto.

But what had happened to the original Pure Land?

Had the Soul Society replaced it?

Beside him, Rukia suddenly raised her hand.

A black butterfly fluttered from an unknown source and landed delicately on her slender fingertip.

Her expression shifted slightly.

"A message from above?" Shin asked.

"…I need to go back. That Hollow… are you sure it won't be a problem?" Rukia still felt uneasy.

After all, her original mission was to deal with it.

"What do you think?"

Rukia's gaze flickered uncertainly.

This man was strong—so overwhelmingly strong that she had been powerless to resist him, manipulated by his will the entire time.

"Who… exactly are you?"

Makoto's voice remained calm and steady as he answered:

"I am Hyuga Makoto, the First Emperor of the Sun Empire, the ruler of humanity in the real world."

"The present world is no longer the one you once knew, and the Pure Land of this world is no longer the one I once knew."

"We will meet again soon. Your superiors will likely come looking for me before long."
