Naruto: I Became Sakura and Accidentally Got a Nuke

Chapter 22: Chapter 22

Hiashi Hyuga sat silently with his head bowed, but Sakura noticed the bulging veins on his tightly clenched fists, and his body trembled slightly.

"However, I'm here to inform you all that I've already asked Shikaku Nara to send a reply to Cloud Village. They must explain their abduction of the Hyuga clan's young lady and prepare reparations, or Konoha will go to war with them directly!"

The Third felt a migraine building from pure frustration. Why can't these morons in the Hyuga family stop causing trouble? He hadn't even mentioned asking the Hyuga to make sacrifices yet, and they had already rushed to kill one of their own? What kind of nonsense was this?

"Eh?!" Hiashi shouted, suddenly lifting his head in shock. "So you mean Hizashi didn't actually need to die?!"

"That's right," said the Third. "Sakura and I came here specifically to inform you about this, though who could've imagined you'd do something like this?" The Third sighed heavily—Hizashi had died completely in vain.

"There's no need to be troubled, Lord Third. If Cloud Village is determined to wage war against us, Hizashi's corpse can still prove useful when the time comes." Hyuga Great Elder remained expressionless as he spoke, showing absolutely no sadness over Hizashi's sacrifice.

"Lord Hiashi, please have Uncle Hizashi's body brought over briefly. Konoha doesn't need him to make this sacrifice yet!"

Sakura frowned slightly; Hyuga Great Elder was truly annoying.

"Do you really believe you can save Hizashi?" The Third asked in surprise.

"I have some confidence. Let's just hope we aren't too late," Sakura replied uncertainly. However, if Hizashi hasn't been dead for too long, there might still be a way to bring him back.

"Is it really possible?" Hiashi became very emotional—he was talking about his own younger brother here, someone driven to death just for him. "Hizashi's body was just sent home earlier. I'll immediately have someone bring it here!"

"Let's just go there ourselves instead. Sending someone else will waste more time!" Sakura stood up, ready to rush over immediately. Every second mattered now—time was running out.

"Young lady, the affairs of the Hyuga are not for outsiders like you to meddle in. Hizashi gave his life for Hiashi—that was a death with meaning. Besides, with the current uncertain situation between Konoha and Cloud Village, we may still need Hizashi's corpse to pacify Cloud's anger."

Hyuga Great Elder strongly opposed going to war. Once conflict erupted, the Hyuga would surely be expected to fight too. If sacrificing a member of the branch house could spare the main house from battle, such a trade would be well worth it.

"Wasn't Uncle Hizashi a Hyuga himself? Are you saying your conscience feels absolutely no pain at exchanging your comrades for temporary peace?"

Sakura's expression darkened; Hyuga Great Elder's attitude made her feel deeply disappointed.

"It is the fate—and honor—of the branch family to sacrifice themselves for the main household!" Hyuga Great Elder stated proudly. The Hyuga clan had lived by this code for years; they'd gotten used to this system long ago.

"Gramps, can I hit him just once?"

Sakura didn't bother arguing with the stubborn old man. Instead, she turned a cold gaze toward the Third.

The Third remained silent—the Hyuga Great Elder irritated him too.

"In that case, good enough." The Third's attitude was clearly one of tacit agreement. A faint smirk curled Sakura's lips, a red gleam flashing in her eyes. Dozens of kunai launched from around her.

"What bad manners for a young girl."

Frowning deeply, the Hyuga Great Elder snorted coldly. Ignoring the Third's reaction, he quickly raised his hand and unleashed an Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm to deflect the kunai.

"You're too naive, big guy," Sakura sneered. The chakra erupting from the Hyuga Great Elder's palm instantly vanished.

"What?! Eight Trigrams: Heavenly Spin!"

Startled, the Hyuga Great Elder barely had time to think further when the kunai were already nearing his face. Without hesitation, he activated the secret technique of the Main House—Heavenly Spin.

A pale blue chakra erupted from the acupoints around the elder's body, rapidly rotating along with his movements and forming a large chakra sphere right at the spot.

"You're really too naive. Did you actually think my attack could be blocked by Heavenly Spin? Don't you know art is for idiots like Patrick?!"

The moment the kunai collided with the Heavenly Spin, purple energy flashed across their surfaces. Before anyone could react, the kunai exploded.

"Boom!"

The explosion hurled the Hyuga Great Elder backward. Though unharmed, the elder now wore a look of deep fury.

Normally speaking, the detonation power of these kunai absolutely shouldn't have been strong enough to send the Hyuga Great Elder flying. However, he hadn't unleashed his full strength from the beginning, using Heavenly Spin hastily. Plus, no one had expected that the kunai released by Sakura would actually explode—all these factors made the elder suffer a huge embarrassment.

"Grandpa Third, Uncle Hiashi, let's go. Hurry up and check whether Uncle Hizashi can still be saved!"

Ignoring the black-as-a-coal expression on the elder's face as he climbed back up, Sakura floated upward on her own, standing atop her Demonic Weapon. Because of her small frame, walking was far too slow—flying straight there was much faster.

Neither the Third nor Hiashi Hyuga paid attention to the furious elder nearly bursting with anger. Hiashi waved off other clan members who had rushed over upon hearing the explosion, then eagerly ran together with Sakura toward the residence of the Branch House.

At Hizashi Hyuga's home, young Neji Hyuga stood filled with confusion and helplessness. He couldn't understand why his father had simply gone to attend a meeting, only to return dead. Looking at Hizashi's corpse, sorrow welled up inside Neji.

"Neji, where is your father's body?"

Hiashi directly leapt down from the wall. Seeing the dazed boy in the courtyard caused a pang of pain deep within his heart.

"Lord Hiashi, Father's body is inside the house." Although still very young, Neji already somewhat understood the distinction between Main and Branch Houses. Thus, facing his uncle Hiashi, he maintained a respectful, obedient demeanor.
