Past Vergil stood up, at incredible speed and appeared in front of the current Vergil.

Current Vergil blocked the palm strike from past Vergil, but the aftershock sent him a couple meters back.

Current Vergil: did you think I'll allow myself to be hit, without throwing them back in turn.

Past Vergil: it seems, you've been active, in your quest for gaining more power.

His eyes gleamed at the thought of it (power) and he became more determined to take control over the current Vergil's body.

He pulled out his Yamato as did the current Vergil, and they started walking in circles around one another, both waiting for an opening on each other, while spinning their Yamato's.

The two Vergil's had wild grins.

On Dante's side.

He too was pulled into a similar space, and was just staring at his other self, that was sat lazily on a couch, that was alone in the pitch black space.

Current Dante: Who are you, why do you look like me.

Past Dante who was swaying his leg, while it was dangling on the edge of the couch he then looked up, upon the voice coming to his ears.

Past Dante: ah, so your the me, who has finally come to talk, well I've got nothing to tell you, just know I've been watching from behind your eyes.

Current Dante scratched his head looked elsewhere "you, er, didn't see the personal stuff, did ya".

Past just showed a wild smile, which sent a shiver down his spine, and he cursed loudly "aghh!, that's personal dude, c'mon".

Past Dante shuffled himself on the couch for a more comfortable spot, he looked back at his other self before saying.

Past Dante: oh, and by the way, it's the other way around, you look like me.

Current Dante just felt stupor'd "the hell is he saying".

As if he could read his mind he smiled further and spoke again "just think of it like this, it's like seeing your very long past life".

Current Dante: past life.

Past Dante: yep, now enough with this nonsense come over here and grab my hand because your little lover is coming.

Current Dante: what?

Past Dante just ignored his surprise stood up quickly and grabbed current Dante's hand, he turned into a bright light and just before disappearing he said with a smile "remember, Vergil ain't so bad, just make sure he isn't doing anything evil alright".

After a while Dante woke up, his body was steaming and he felt memories of the other Dante flood through his mind, while also feeling like his strength had increased again.

He muttered "so, that's how everything was, it all makes sense now", as he was in his thoughts the door to his room slammed open.

Ayame: you finally came back and you didn't even come to say hi.

She looked like a wild beast ready to tear apart it's prey, and Dante who was still steaming looked at Ayame with a wry smile "I was tired and needed to rest up, you know, plus I needed a bath and a clean shave".

He didn't want to appear in front of her looking like a hobo, so he did just that but, fell asleep due to exhaustion.

Ayame was just staring at Dante who had finally stopped steaming, and thought back to the words going around the village, about monsters appearing in the hospital.

She walked over grabbed his ear and pulled him out of the room "your taking care of our daughter, you got that", she decided to forgive him and ask about that situation another time.

Back in Vergil's dream.

Both Vergil's were forced back into a slide after slashing towards each other, current Vergil said with a hint of annoyance "are we gonna do this all day".

Then they started spamming judgment cut against one another, if one were standing there they'd be dumbfounded, even though it was at impeccable speed, they'd still hear "scum" "too slow" "die" repeated by them.

After what seemed like weeks in the dream world only a couple of hours passed outside.

They were seen with cuts marks all over their clothes, breathing heavily.

Past Vergil: just give me your body, it won't change anything, we'd still be one.

Current Vergil: sorry, but there's only room for one of us.

Past Vergil after a while of thinking, thought of something and said "how about, we settle this the good old fashion way, we arm wrestle, loser dies.

Current Vergil: fine by me.

They Sprinted towards each other and grabbed each other's hands.

Current Vergil pulled out his Yamato and stabbed past Vergil in the stomach.

Past Vergil: ghhh!. You bastard.

Current Vergil: the loser dies.

Past Vergil hearing this smiled and looked at the current Vergil with a hint of victory "hehehe, I forgot, even if this were to happen, we won't truly disappear".

Current Vergil: what?

Past Vergil started disappearing with small light blooms in front of the current and still he had a smile "you will see everything I have been through, and understand, why I seek power, why I hold it to my very being".
