Chapter 191: Chapter 191: Awakening the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan
"Fifth Hokage, we must stop Nagato from becoming the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki," Jiraiya said gravely.
"According to the Great Toad Sage, the power of the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki is akin to that of the Sage of Six Paths. Such power could destroy the entire shinobi world!"
"The Infinite Tsukuyomi is far too dangerous!" Jiraiya added, his tone heavy with concern.
"Rest assured, we in Konohagakure have been working tirelessly to prevent Nagato from collecting all the tailed beasts," Akira replied firmly. "However, Sunagakure and Takigakure remain skeptical of our intentions."
"It's a shame," Jiraiya lamented. "The Great Toad Sage foresaw a future where Nagato succeeds in becoming the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki."
"The future is not set in stone," Akira responded confidently. "Don't worry, Jiraiya-sama. As long as we act decisively, Nagato becoming the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki doesn't guarantee his invincibility."
Though immensely powerful, the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki was not unbeatable. The tailed beasts Nagato had gathered were incomplete fragments. Reviving the Ten-Tails in such a state would undoubtedly result in a weaker version, incomparable to the Ten-Tails of ancient times or even the one from the Fourth Great Ninja War.
Furthermore, Akira was on the verge of unlocking the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, a step that would elevate his power even further. Even if Nagato succeeded in his plan, Akira was confident he could hold his own. And besides, there was no guarantee Nagato would achieve his goal anytime soon.
The longer this dragged on, the more the odds tilted in Akira's favor. The Tenseigan was still maturing, and once it was fully awakened, Akira was confident he could go head-to-head with the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki.
Seeing Akira's unwavering confidence, Jiraiya felt a weight lift off his shoulders.
As the Great Toad Sage said, Uchiha Akira has both the strength and determination to face Nagato.
After a moment of thought, Akira asked, "Did the Great Toad Sage specify when this future might occur?"
"No," Jiraiya replied, shaking his head. "The Sage only saw fragmented glimpses of the future and couldn't determine the exact timeline."
"That's unfortunate," Akira said with a sigh.
Not long after Jiraiya left, Tsunade entered Akira's office. She looked directly at him and asked, "So, that idiot Jiraiya is back?"
"Indeed," Akira confirmed. "And he brought news from the Great Toad Sage."
"What kind of news?" Tsunade asked, frowning. "Judging by your expression, I'd say it's bad."
"The Sage foresaw a future where Nagato becomes the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki," Akira replied.
"What?!" Tsunade exclaimed, her eyes widening. "Does that mean Konohagakure will lose in the end?"
"Not necessarily," Akira reassured her. "But it's likely that Nagato will acquire the chakra of the Nine-Tails."
"That's definitely not good news," Tsunade said, her brows furrowed. She let out a deep breath, her mind racing.
"It isn't," Akira agreed. "Which is why our only option is to grow stronger."
Taking a deep breath, Tsunade seemed to come to a decision. "It's our best shot."
She paused for a moment, then said, "By the way, the results of the Wood Release experiments are in."
"How did they turn out?" Akira asked.
"The results are excellent. Once the conditions are met, the success rate of the transplants is nearly 100%," Tsunade said, a rare smile crossing her face.
"That's great!" Akira exclaimed. "Let's start arranging transplants for suitable candidates as soon as possible. We need to make Wood Release widely available!"
"The Wood Release itself isn't the most important part," Tsunade added. "The real benefit lies in the significant chakra boost and the ability for recipients to master both Earth and Water Release on their own."
Akira nodded in agreement. Chakra was the foundation of everything. With greater chakra reserves, shinobi could perform techniques previously beyond their reach. The mastery of Earth and Water Release would also provide an invaluable edge.
...
As the year 54 drew to a close
Over a year and a half since the reforms began, Akira stood in the ShinTen Biotech, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
"The Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan is finally complete!" he exclaimed.
In the mirror, he saw a pair of intricate, glowing Sharingan. The design featured three solid tomoe connected in a circular formation, with a triangular shuriken-like figure extending from the center. The pattern was mesmerizing, a true testament to its overwhelming power.
After carefully assessing the eyes, Akira muttered to himself, "As expected, the Eternal Mangekyō's ocular power is leagues above the standard Mangekyō. The chakra reserves are immense, comparable to the legendary Rinnegan."
He could feel the sheer strength emanating from the eyes. The immense chakra stored within was unmistakable, and it coursed through him like a raging torrent. With these new eyes, Akira knew his abilities had taken a giant leap forward.
'These eyes can finally support prolonged combat,' he thought. 'Even using the Shadow of Time technique in both eyes simultaneously won't exhaust me as quickly.'
Previously, his ocular powers were strong but limited by the Mangekyō's constraints. Techniques like the Temporal Shadow consumed far too much chakra to use freely. But now, Akira could wield them to their full potential.
"Kamui hasn't changed much, though," Akira mused. "After all, it's a transplanted technique."
After a moment of contemplation, Akira called for Fugaku and Shisui. Their Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan had also been successfully cultivated.
It didn't take long for the two to arrive, their excitement barely contained.
"Akira, judging by that look on your face, our new eyes are ready!" Fugaku said with anticipation.
"Correct," Akira replied with a nod. "Your Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan are complete. All that's left is the transplant."
Fugaku and Shisui's excitement was palpable. The Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan represented the pinnacle of the Uchiha Clan's power. It was the key to unlocking the Perfect Susanoo and wielding unparalleled destructive might.
After hours of delicate work, Akira successfully transplanted the new eyes for both men.
The Uchiha Clan's power had reached new heights, and the future of the shinobi world was about to change.
