Chapter 486: Gifts Exchange.
Han Lingshi and Hao Ren danced in the void for a couple of hours, they were totally immersed in each others embrace and had forgotten about the world. Ye Si had used her spiritual pressure to hold the candle floats in one place, and to sustain their illumination time.
She sighed as she looked at the two people surrounded by the candle floats and mumbled, "Come on, guys. Even if I am strong, it does not mean I can keep the wick go on forever."
Hao Ren suddenly smiled and said, "Lingshi, let us return. The wicks of the candle float is about to run out and someone is complaining a lot."
Han Lingshi chuckled and they both stopped before the young lady said, "Thank you everyone, for your warm wishes."
The young couple bowed to the crowd and the citizens cheered in reply. Their well wishes echoed throughout the city and Hao Ren and Han Lingshi returned to the palace. The young man then thanked the disciples of Ye Yue and complimented their skills with the instruments. Han Lingshi called up someone from the treasury department and gifted them all with a few pills and spiritual items for their performance.
The people wanted to refuse, saying that the performance was their gift to the couple, but they were not given the chance. After a few minute, the Ye generals were also rewarded and then they were joined the entire family for a meal.
As soon as Hao Ren was about to sit down next to Han Lingshi, Hao Mei cleared her throat and asked, "Ren, where is the gift?"
Hao Ren froze and then he nodded confidently as he walked to the center of the room and said, "Over the past few years, Lingshi had been traveling to distant places of the world and she had been facing dangers and fighting people. So, after careful thought, I decided to forge her an armor."
The people all leaned forward, and Hao Ren took out an armor, and Han Lingshi was so surprised that she stood up from her seat and ogled at the armor. Hao Ren said, "The breast plates, Pauldrons, Braces, Corset, tail plate, thighs and shin guards, all of them are made from one single metal only, the Celestial Cotton Steel. This metal is the lightest of the metals that exist in the world, but at the same time, it has a property that makes it worthy.
When circulated with heat it becomes the most malleable metal, and when channeled with cold, it turns so hard that even if a mountain hits it directly the person inside would stay safe. The helmet is made of the same metal but I gave it several layers so that it can keep your face covered through the most part yet you would be able to see everything clearly.
The crescent moon on the forehead is actually a defense armament, it can disable the attacks directed to your soul and spirit completely. Even a world expert might not be able to hinder your spirit."
The people sucked in a deep breath and they sat silently. Hao Ren paused and caught his breath before he spoke once more, and said, "The wings that you see in the back, they are made up of Silver Star Iron. Every feather is covered with a wind elemental array and if you channel the spiritual energy inside them, they can cast a grade seven tornado with a flick and if you wish to escape, they will fire a stream of air current that will make you go Mach three in a blink."
Han Lingshi was shocked and asked, "Is that all?"
Hao Ren chuckled and replied, "The armor has water arrays carved on every single piece, they can form a wall around you if you activate them. The walls will not stand stationary, if you manipulate the array inside, the tsunami will drown the enemies. It is a passive attack."
Han Lingshi walked over to the center and she moved around the entire armor with a gaze that screamed joy. Hao Ren understood that his task has been completed and he asked, "Can I get a kiss now that you have watched the presentation and liked the efforts I put in this time?"
Han Lingshi walked closer to him, and embraced her arms around his shoulders before she tip-toe and kissed his lips before everyone. Tang Zhen sighed and said, "Shall we all leave you two alone?"
The kiss broke and Han Xinyuan said, "Don't blame Lingshi, you are the one who has led her astray."
Hao Ren chuckled and asked, "Where is my gift?"
Han Lingshi, smiled, raised her head and said, "Well, I have been traveling around a lot of places and I know that you are now a Sword Saint. So, during one of the trials in a secret realms. I came across a sword. For this we were hunted by many, and Ye Lan almost got injured seriously."
She took out a sword from her space ring and this blade looked very domineering. Han Lingshi said, "I am not sure what metal is used in this, but the blade is inscribed with some ancient text. We could not read it. All you need to do is drip a drop of your blood on it."
Hao Ren took the blade from her, it was three feet three inches long, two inches wide on the base of the hilt and one inch at the tip. He flicked his finger on the blade and it let out a sharp chime. The young man smiled and said, "Good Sword."
He scrutinized the ancient text on the blade and found that it was something that even he could not read. He asked, 'System, can you read this?'
*Of course, I can.*
Hao Ren waited and asked, 'Tell me what it is?'
*Why should I?*
The young man said, 'As a system dedicated to make me an invincible husband, you have not even given out a single anniversary bonus reward, you wanna ask the same question again?'
*I see, you have finally exploiting loopholes, fine, I will give you something. You can take an accumulated reward, or you can have me translate this inscription.*
Hao Ren raised his brow and said, 'The inscription please. Translate it.'
*Fine, the inscription says, inside the blade lies the spirit of a fallen entity. The entity that rules over flame, and reincarnation. In the year, eight hundred, an artifact refiner named Ouyang Ye, captured the soul of this beast and sealed in inside the blade, however, after the completion when Ouyang Ye's son tried to refine the blade, the spirit swallowed the person and since then it has been sealed away.*
Hao Ren smiled and raised his brow, the system asked, *Why did you chose me to translate? You could have asked me to give you something better.*
The young man replied, 'Your gift is nothing compared to what my wife has given me. Even if it is dangerous.'
*Are you not afraid that the spirit inside will kill you?*
Hao Ren shook his head and said, 'I am a little scared, but imagine, if this didn't kill me, it will make me stronger.'
The system was speechless. Hao Ren didn't wait, he pricked the tip of his left index finger, which caused many to raise their brows, and as the drop of blood was dripping along the blade, he said, "I have given you the blood of my heart, and I will take you to soar the higher skies. Come out, to be my partner, and battle the heavens with me."
He didn't use the terms like submit, or 'for me'. Hao Ren knew that the spirit inside the blade was a strong and prideful one. So much that ever since Han Lingshi took out the weapon, the Dragon he had contracted earlier was gazing at him with her calm eyes.
She was in her human form, but the blade gave her a really off feeling. The next second, all the text inscribed on the blade surface began to glow up with a red baleful light. The spiritual energy in the room swirled and condensed the phantom of a might phoenix. The spirit phantom cawed loudly, and shook the walls of the palace, before it charged at Hao Ren.
Han Lingshi was shocked and she yelled, "NO!"
However, Hao Ren chuckled and said, "Burn!"
He unleashed the Phoenix flames directly against the spirit phantom and the beast essence found itself lacking in terms of destructive power. It tried to attack Hao Ren's spirit but everything was rendered useless.
Hao Ren said, "I respected you, but you sought to kill me. Since that is what you desire, then I shall erase you and make space for a much cordial spirit inside the vessel."
The spirit flames surrounded the spirit phantom and began to refine it, and after a few minutes the spirit phantom's voice sounded from the flame cloud, "I give up! Stop these flames, they burn!"
Hao Ren intentionally delayed a few moments before taking back the flames, and found that the spirit phantom had shrunk into a smaller size. The color had also turned from red to faint amber, and the lines have become more distinct. As if a real phoenix was flying inside the dining hall.
Hao Ren smiled as he turned to Han Lingshi and said, "Thank you, Love. Yours is better."
