"I really don't understand why you like to read books all the time; my head hurts just by looking at them," Anna complained, watching me study. ...Well, I really have been studying a lot these days.

"You're right, maybe I should take a break. I've been too focused lately, and there are some other things I need to take care of," I responded with a smile and closed the book.

And indeed there were many things I needed to do. My Devil Fruit powers have clearly reached a breakthrough point, which I need to focus on just a bit more for it to awaken. I also wish to find the Flower Flower Fruit for Anna before Robin eats it, as for Robin, I could find some other, more suitable Devil Fruit for her later.

So, after spending some time with Anna, I went out for a stroll and soon found a secluded place. I was out to find the Flower Flower Fruit—it might be difficult for others to find, but for me, it wasn't.

"Hidden ROOM!"

And a transparent, invisible sphere surrounded the entire island. This was a move I had developed, which traded the strength and control powers of the Room for stealth and range. This move was essentially useless in a fight, but the reason I developed it was to collect blood samples from afar, since even teleportation was limited to only small objects within the hidden room.

But it had one specialty: its extreme stealth. Unless even top powerhouses are actively using their Observation Haki and focusing on the room, they won't notice anything wrong, since this move is too weak to harm them. However, using it, if there is a fight on an island, I can collect whatever I want from outside the island. And with the surveillance aspect, I can sense everything within the room just like the original version.

So, I used a scan on the entire island and, soon enough, I found the Flower Flower Fruit, which was on the outskirts of the forest. I went and collected it—the most beautiful Devil Fruit was in my hand. But what surprised me was that there was another Devil Fruit on the island. So, I went to fetch the other fruit too. Unlike the first one, this was surrounded by a den of rabbits, who seemed to protect it. I created a room, teleported out the Devil Fruit, and also teleported myself away, leaving the rabbits in a frenzy.

With the two Devil Fruits in hand, I could finally focus on awakening my Devil Fruit. Once it awakens, my combat power would likely soar to that of a pirate with a bounty of around 2 billion berries—and that, too, is only because I have yet to learn Armament Haki.

With that, I went to a secluded part of the forest and started to activate my Devil Fruit power. I created a room—a small one, since I didn't need range—and began to exert my will within the domain. This was certainly the most concentration-demanding thing I had ever done. I attempted to remove gravity from within the room, but could only produce flickers. After hours of continuous practice, suddenly I felt as if some barriers were broken. It was hard to describe how I was feeling right then, but I could say it felt like freedom.

Until now, whenever I used my powers, I felt something within me adhering to my will and producing the effect. But now, it was directly my will that produced the results. It could be said that before awakening, the 'devil's soul' (no, there is no soul; I'm just using it to explain it to you) acted as a middleman between my will and my powers, and now, the 'devil's soul' had completely merged with me—the middleman had vanished.

A load of new information also appeared in my mind—several types of operations, including the immortality surgery. I knew them all now. Basically, as long as one was not dead, I could save them. One of the biggest reasons for me choosing the Operation Fruit was fulfilled at this moment: I wouldn't have to spend my immortality alone now, which was one of my biggest fears.

But I felt that awakening wasn't the limit of a Devil Fruit. I think that awakening is the point from which a Devil Fruit can truly start showing its miracles. I believe the powers would become more conceptual and powerful from now on, and whatever I can imagine would be much easier to accomplish.

And one of the many plans I had was to induce evolution through operations. I wanted to first perfect my body and fuse it all together, forming a perfect bloodline for myself—and then I could evolve it even further. It's a simple but perfect plan.

Now, the next thing to do would be to awaken my Armament Haki. With my current physique, awakening it would surely be easy. So I started to punch a tree. I focused all my will into my fists, and after a few punches full of pain, I felt wisps of Haki appear on my hands. Soon, my hands turned black. This was, without a doubt, the first stage of Armament Haki—hardening.

I continued to practice Haki for a while. Now, I was fearless even against Logia Devil Fruit users... well, I could manipulate seawater and strike them with it, but Haki hits differently. Of course, I wasn't going to study advanced Haki right now—it was only 1496 by my estimates. I believed I would be above Pirate King level by 1510. It would have been so much simpler if I had a system with me, but it is what it is. Besides, my ability is nothing short of a cheat.

I walked back home with satisfaction at my day's work. I had been out for over 10 hours, and Anna must have been worried too—after all, I told her I would be back in a while. As soon as I entered home, I was met with a worried Anna.

"Master, you're back. Did you finally go crazy and stroll the entire West Blue? I told you those books are harmful for the mind. You should have listened to me. Don't worry—I won't let a book come near you for a week," Anna said with a smirky smile....

She had a strange character. I still remember how shy she was when she first came here, but ever since I 'bought' her from her family, she has turned... well, complex. She calls me Master and acts like a proper maid too, but that is until she opens her mouth—she likes to tease me and speak dominantly while acting submissive.... It's really hot, to be honest. Maybe the fact that I like her could filter out her quirks for me, but I like her, and that's all I care about.

"Well, I was practicing my Devil Fruit—scanning the island—and I found two Devil Fruits here. One is the Flower Flower Fruit, with the power to generate multiple body parts, like many hands and legs that you can control, but the pain caused to any body part is transferred back to your body. As for the other Devil Fruit, I don't know; I'll go and check it in the Tree of Knowledge. There should be a Devil Fruit encyclopedia in there. You can eat one when I find out which Devil Fruit the other one is, but it should probably be a Zoan related to rabbits," I explained to Anna.

"Well, since your excuse is convincing enough, I guess you can go back to the library in five days only. And I made you Grilled Steak and Chicken Biryani for dinner. And no need for me to have such an expensive Devil Fruit—I am already indebted enough and have nothing to offer, after all, you've already bought me," she said the last part with a wink.

"It is because you are mine that you will eat this fruit; as for repayment, the Devil Fruit powers can be used in some special ways too." Now was my turn to wink at her, and she started blushing.
