One Piece: Infinite Treasure Chest System.

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Three Days Later

Ben sat by a campfire, roasting a rabbit he'd hunted. He glanced at the ring on his finger—a gift from the Special Chest he'd opened three days ago. After some practice, he'd finally gotten the hang of using it.

The Special Chest had contained Water Dragon's Affinity, an Imperial Arm from the Akame ga Kill! universe. It granted him the ability to control water and other liquids, with a devastating ultimate move called Blood Blade Kill.

When he first obtained it, Ben had been ecstatic. He'd rushed to the beach, summoning water dragons and showing off like a kid with a new toy.

But his excitement was short-lived. After a brief display of power, Ben collapsed from exhaustion. Using the Imperial Arm drained his mental energy, and he wasn't used to its demands.

Thankfully, the unique physiology of the One Piece world kicked in, and Ben recovered quickly. Determined to master the weapon, he spent the next few days practicing.

His training came at the expense of the local wildlife—rabbits, snakes, and other small creatures became his meals. To his surprise, his appetite had grown significantly. He could devour three rabbits and two snakes in one sitting without feeling full.

Guess that's just how things work in the One Piece world, Ben thought. Everyone here seems to have a bottomless stomach.

"Splash! Splash!"

Just then, a small boat pulled up to the shore. An old man stepped off, his presence commanding yet relaxed.

"Hey, kid. Mind if I borrow your fire to roast some rice crackers?"

Ben looked up, startled. His eyes widened as he recognized the man.

"Holy—! Vice Admiral Garp?!" The name slipped out before Ben could stop himself.

"Oh? You know me, huh? Guess I'm not as old and forgotten as I thought!" Garp laughed heartily, his trademark grin spreading across his face. "Here, have some rice crackers!"

"Uh, thanks, Vice Admiral Garp. But… what brings you to a place like this?" Ben asked, trying to hide his nervousness. What's a legendary figure like Garp doing in the East Blue? There aren't any pirates here worth his time.

"I'm here to visit my grandson. Say, kid, ever thought about joining the Marines?" Garp, ever the recruiter, didn't waste any time getting to the point. As he spoke, he skewered a rice cracker on a stick and held it over the fire.

Ben's heart raced. Vice Admiral Garp himself is inviting me to join the Marines! The idea was thrilling, but Ben quickly reminded himself of the downsides. Joining the Marines meant following orders from the World Government, including protecting the despicable Celestial Dragons. The thought of men like Aokiji leaving and Garp distancing himself from the organization made Ben hesitate.

"Vice Admiral Garp, I'm honored by your offer, but I can't join the Marines," Ben said firmly.

"Dad, we're leaving."

A voice called from the boat, and Ben's eyes nearly popped out of his head. That's Monkey D. Dragon! So, Dragon hadn't left the Marines yet, which meant Luffy and the others were still just kids.

"Alright, alright. Can't even enjoy a warm snack in peace," Garp grumbled, tossing the rice cracker into his mouth and heading back to the boat.

"Vice Admiral Garp, could I hitch a ride? My ship got wrecked, and I've been stranded here. I don't even know where I am," Ben said, putting on his best pleading expression.

"We're heading to Windmill Village in the Goa Kingdom. That on your way?" Garp asked bluntly.

"Yes, absolutely!" Ben nodded vigorously. Home? My home's on Earth, so nowhere's really on my way. But Windmill Village? That's where Luffy, Ace, and Sabo grew up! Plus, there's bound to be treasure chests there.

The thought of treasure made Ben's mouth water.

"Hahaha! Thinking about home-cooked meals, huh? Let's go, then." Garp tossed another rice cracker into his mouth and boarded the boat. Ben quickly followed, leaving his makeshift campsite behind.

Three Days Later

"Uncle Garp, stop the boat! I smell treasure!"

Garp and Dragon both groaned at Ben's words. Over the past few days, Ben had made a habit of stopping at every island they passed, always coming back with some strange item. The first time, he'd brought back a crate of Guojiao 1573 liquor, which Garp and Dragon had thoroughly enjoyed. But the next time, he'd returned with a can of something labeled surströmming. The moment they opened it, the smell nearly knocked them out. Even now, the memory made them shudder.

"Kid, if you bring back another stinky can, I'm throwing you overboard," Garp growled.

Ben shrugged helplessly. It's not like I can control what's inside the chests! That last one was a disaster.

Using Water Dragon's Affinity, Ben quickly made his way to the island. According to the system, there were three chests here: one Bronze and two Iron.

As expected, the Bronze chest was guarded by a massive rhinoceros. Through his previous experiences, Ben had learned a valuable lesson: Bronze-tier chests and above always had guardians. He hadn't encountered a Silver chest yet, but he could only imagine the kind of monster that would guard one.

After a fierce battle, Ben defeated the rhinoceros and collected all three chests.

"System, open them all."

"Congratulations! You have obtained 'Jeanne d'Arc's Hat,' from the Fate universe. It's useless."

"Congratulations! You have obtained a crate of 'Smooth Skin Body Wash,' from Earth. Using it will make your skin incredibly smooth."

"Congratulations! You have obtained the Devil Fruit: Mera Mera no Mi (Flame-Flame Fruit), from the One Piece world…"

"Holy—! I hit the jackpot! The Mera Mera no Mi?!" Ben stared at the flame-patterned fruit in his hand, barely able to contain his excitement. He hadn't expected the last Bronze chest to contain a Devil Fruit.

But his excitement was quickly tempered by a nagging thought. Isn't there supposed to be only one of each Devil Fruit in existence? If I eat this, what happens to Ace?

"Well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it," Ben muttered, tucking the fruit into his inventory. After recycling Jeanne d'Arc's hat, he made his way back to the boat.

"What'd you bring back this time?" Garp eyed the crate on Ben's shoulder with suspicion. The memory of the surströmming incident was still fresh in his mind. That smell had ruined his appetite for rice crackers for an entire day.

"This time, it's something good. But it's not really for you two. It's…" Ben handed them a bottle of the Smooth Skin Body Wash and explained its effects.

And so, under the protection of two of the world's strongest men, Ben continued his treasure-hunting journey as they made their way to Windmill Village.
