Chapter 3: Ch-3 Arriving at Shell Town!!
Near Shell Town,
A small, very beat-up boat drifted toward Shell Town's harbor. Onboard were three familiar faces — Luffy, Lucen, and Koby.
"WOW! Look at those towers — they look like power plant chimneys!" Lucen exclaimed, excited.
"How can you be so energetic after all that?" Koby groaned, lying flat like a dried fish.
"Shishishi~ That was hilarious! I wanna do it again!" Luffy beamed, the morning sunlight glinting off his goofy smile.
After Luffy's "brilliant stunt" with the WindGod Fan, they'd been sent flying across the sea. Luckily, they were thrown in the direction of Shell Town. Unluckily, being launched into the air didn't mean they were safe — crashing into the sea would have splintered their boat like a matchstick.
"Good thing Lucen used the WindGod Fan in time," Koby muttered. "Otherwise, we'd be fish food."
Right before they hit the water, Lucen had swung the fan gently downward, creating a gust of wind that slowed their fall. But the fan only pushed air forward, and redirecting it was tricky, so they still slammed the sea hard. Their boat survived... barely.
"Still, if we'd had a real sailing boat, we would've arrived yesterday," Lucen said, rubbing his back.
They'd even travelled through the night — which was normally dangerous, but stopping would've been worse. With a map and compass, at least they didn't drift aimlessly.
Soon, they docked at the harbor.
"I'm so hungry," Lucen groaned, his stomach growling.
"Ooh! Lucen!" Luffy's eyes sparkled. "You said you get cool stuff every day from your pocket, right? Let's see today's!"
"Eh? Oh yeah, let's check it out!" Lucen was curious too — even he didn't know what surprise he'd get.
Koby also leaned in with interest.
Lucen reached into his hoodie's center pocket — not an ordinary pocket, but a 4D pocket, a cheat item from the mysterious being who sent him here. The pocket didn't auto-summon the item; it just stored whatever he got safely. Which was smart — you never knew what might pop out.
"DETECTIVE ROBOT 2.0!!" Lucen yelled as he pulled out a 1-meter-tall robot. It had a humanoid shape, a detective hat, and a glowing magnifying glass over one eye.
"WOW!!" Luffy and Koby exclaimed in unison.
"What mystery shall I solve today?" the robot asked in a calm, robotic voice.
"IT TALKS?!" Luffy shouted, immediately reaching for the robot's hat — but the robot responded by pulling out a tiny pistol and zapping Luffy's hand with a burst of electricity.
"OUCH!" Luffy rubbed his hand. Luckily, being made of rubber made him practically immune to electricity... mostly.
"Hmm. Interesting. 20mA and still standing... increasing to 30mA." The robot, unfazed, zapped Luffy again — this time at 30,000 volts.
Koby looked on, panicked. "Uh, Lucen... should we stop him?"
"HAHAHA! WHY? This is hilarious!" Lucen laughed, barely able to breathe.
Average people in this world might be strong, but their electrical resistance was average at best. Even 50 volts could be fatal if they were wet. But Luffy, made of rubber, seemed to just treat it like a mosquito bite.
Though... even a rubber man has limits.
"That's it!" Luffy yelled, stretching his arms and wrapping the robot up like a burrito.
"Hmph. Impressive skills," the robot muttered. Then, he tilted his hat, and a small black ball launched out. It hit Luffy — and instantly turned into an iron net, trapping him like a sausage roll.
"HEY! Lucen, help me!" Luffy shouted, wriggling.
Lucen just kept laughing, tears in his eyes.
Finally, Lucen stopped and turned to the robot. As always, when a new item appeared, a brief description entered his mind.
"Hello. I'm Sherlock Holmes, activated at your command," the robot introduced himself, tipping his hat politely.
"Yes, Sherlock. We're heading to the Grand Line... could you gather useful information about it for us?"
Lucen honestly didn't need anything from him yet, but it felt awkward to just send him back. Besides, the robot looked too cool to keep locked away.
"Mission accepted." Sherlock turned, but before heading off, he casually deactivated the iron net trapping Luffy.
"That guy was so cool!" Luffy cheered, even after getting wrecked.
"Right? So badass," Lucen nodded. Sherlock was calm and collected — probably thanks to his programming — but still awesome.
Koby, however, might've had a different opinion.
"Alright! Let's go to the Marine base!" Luffy declared, ready to charge.
"Can't we just eat first?" Lucen asked, clutching his stomach.
"Why do we even have to go?" Koby groaned.
As they walked through town, Lucen scanned the people — especially the women — and nodded to himself. Not because he was checking them out, no! It was just… after seeing Alvida's face, he'd briefly feared all women in this world might look terrifying.
He wasn't shallow, but he came from a world where beauty was… well, valued. Thankfully, he concluded: "The golden ratio here is pretty high."
The men, on the other hand… looked like they'd lost a fight with a frying pan.
"Why is everyone staring at us?" Luffy asked, confused.
"They're not staring at us..." Koby said with a sigh. "They're all staring at Lucen."
Women were blushing, whispering, and practically melting as Lucen passed by. Married women gave him affectionate "mom energy." There were a few exceptions — but the attention was overwhelming.
Lucen was visibly harassed by swarms of admirers. Luffy and Koby watched from the sidelines with very different flavors of envy.
"Damn! I want food too! Why's no one offering me anything?" Luffy pouted.
Even random men nearby looked at Lucen with jealousy. Luffy, ignoring everything, turned to one of them and asked: "Hey! Do you know where Roronoa Zoro is being held?"
The moment he said the name, everything froze. The man who'd been about to respond ran away like his life depended on it.
"What was that?" Lucen returned, arms full of bread and meat.
"Listen," Koby whispered. "We can't say Zoro's name out loud here!"
"OH! Though I seem to have seen a street poster about some Captain Morgan at the Marine base," Lucen said, chewing.
The moment he said "Captain Morgan," everyone scattered. Shops closed. Windows slammed shut. Women even threw Lucen worried glances before running.
Luffy and Lucen looked around... and burst out laughing.
"Shishishishi~ These people are hilarious!"
"HAHAHA! Right?!"
"That's not funny!" Koby said. "I get being afraid of Zoro... but a Marine Lieutenant? What kind of justice officer inspires fear like that?!"
"Maybe he's done something bad," Luffy said, munching on Lucen's meat supply.
"No way!" Koby protested. "A Marine is supposed to be a symbol of justice!"
"Still… being scared by just hearing a name? What is he, a no-nose man or something?" Lucen mumbled through a bite.
"Shishishi~ I don't know what that means, but it sounds funny!" Luffy laughed, and Lucen joined in.
Koby looked at them both — laughing, carefree — and felt a mix of envy and admiration. Their hearts were so... strong.
And with that, the three made their way toward Shell Town's Marine Base.
TO BE CONTINUED…
