Otaku Witch

Chapter 398: 356. Such Moon God

Swiftly, the very first collective prayer session of the newborn Moon Worship Cult came to a successful completion.

In the square, the Moon Rabbits showed a variety of reactions—some overjoyed, some disheartened, some confused. After the diverse dispersal, the Moon Goddess Statue that was initially just a jade sculpture suddenly came to life. She first shrank in size, then leapt down from the high pedestal she stood on, and made her way beside Dorothy.

"Reporting, comrade of the original body, my task is complete."

The Moon Goddess Incarnation suddenly stood at attention and saluted, then spoke to the Homebody Witch.

Indeed, she gave off the crisp and efficient aura of a military officer.

Dorothy couldn't help but grimace beneath her mask, feeling a toothache coming on. "You're a Moon Goddess; what do you need with a soldier's temperament? I'm telling you, joining the military is out of the question. Don't even dream about embarking on the path of the armed forces."

However, she also looked at this brand-new Deity Incarnation with some curiosity, seeking the differences between it and herself.

Even if in essence, an Incarnation and the original body are the same person, due to different traits composing the Incarnation, there are many differences in appearance. Take for instance the Fairy King who has a half-human, half-dragon appearance, and possesses the typical stature of a pure-blooded Dragon Witch: tall and robust.

Now, this Deity Incarnation, with the Angel Halo as its core, faith as its soul, and jade as its body, also exhibited significant differences from the original.

First and foremost, there was a distinction in race. The Moon Goddess Incarnation looked more like an Angel that was genuinely born from faith. Although her Angel's Ring had transformed into ribbons, and the four snow-white wings extended from her waist unlike Sophia's classic Angel figure.

In reality, not all Angels in heaven look like that. In fact, classic figures like Sophia's are actually in the minority; they symbolize noble blood and status, owned only by High-Order Angels. As for other middle and Low-ranking Angels, they come in all sorts of bizarre shapes.

Some have heads not on their necks but growing out of their hands or swords; or some have no bodies at all, instead, they're just a bunch of eyeballs with several wings...

Some Angels' appearances can truly exceed the limits of human imagination, not even falling short compared to the adorable creatures created by senior Fanny.

Apart from the Angel wings and the Angel's Ring that every Angel possesses, it's hard to say if there are any definitive common features amongst them.

Therefore, if this Moon Goddess Incarnation were to go to heaven, nobody would doubt that she is an Angel; at most, they might find her a bit unconventional.

Apart from race, another difference was stature. Dorothy's original self has that authentic Goddess physique: gain a pound and she'd be too plump, lose an ounce and she'd be too thin, perfectly just right.

However, this Moon Goddess's figure slightly hinted at voluptuousness. The armor over her chest and hips was noticeably enhanced, while that around her waist was somewhat diminished, creating a striking visual of slender branches supporting hefty fruit, an impact on par with Senior Mia's allure.

Ah, is this the manifestation of maternal traits?

Goodness gracious, the cart before the horse is I.

The temperament was the last thing to consider. Most Moon Gods typically have a serene and cool aura, and that was the impression given by the Moon Goddess statue Dorothy previously sculpted.

Yet, after this Moon Goddess sprang to life, that serene coolness of her statue phase faded significantly, replaced by a compassionate softness. She didn't seem like a Moon Goddess at all, more like a Female Bodhisattva from her past life, with kind eyes and a benevolent face—a sense of the Holy Mother in the flesh.

Just...

Dorothy recalled the array of militaristic traits absorbed by this Moon Goddess Incarnation. The more she looked at this Holy Mother, this Female Bodhisattva, the more she found her eerily off-putting, as if she were a wolf in sheep's clothing.

The Homebody Witch thought of Senior Mia and felt that this Moon Goddess Incarnation would get along famously with her. Both were deceiving Big Sisters with faux gentleness; it's just that Senior Mia was a noble Lady of elegance, while this Moon Goddess seemed more like a simple village girl, akin to a White Lotus.

Indeed, a village girl—no mistake about it. Despite inheriting Dorothy's beauty, this Moon Goddess lacked the unapproachable aura that typically comes with it. Somehow, she managed to give her divine features a vibe more like that of the belle of the village.

It's pretty much like the impression Dorothy gives off normally with her braids, black-framed glasses, and long bangs.

This is probably the manifestation of that earthy characteristic. (Refer to the combination of Shasheng Academy and Joan of Arc.)

"I always feel this avatar is a real hassle, even more than the Fairy King."

After examining this new incarnation, Dorothy felt her Inspiration going crazy with warnings. But alerts were useless now, Little Five had already taken shape, and it's not like she could shove it back in for a do-over.

Oh well, just suck it up and use it.

The Homebody Witch sighed, thinking this to herself.

"Why didn't you bless everyone just now? There should have been enough Power of Faith available, right?"

She asked out of curiosity.

The previous blessings from the Moon Goddess weren't bestowed upon all the Moon Rabbits. In fact, only a small part received the Divine Arts, which puzzled Dorothy a great deal.

After all, her goal was to save the world, not to hoodwink people. What's with this hunger marketing ploy?

"Comrade Incarnation, haste won't get you hot tofu, and the grievance lies not with scarcity, but with uneven distribution. That's just the way of the human heart. If we were to grant Divine Arts to everyone all at once, some people would inevitably take such easily gotten things for granted,"

the Moon Goddess responded. She reached behind her wings and pulled out a large white porcelain jar with a Red Sun emblazoned on it, added some goji berries to the hot water inside, and then, looking like an authoritative figure, shook her head and blew on the cup before taking a sip of water and finally answering.

"Comrade Incarnation, our goal is to save the Moon Rabbits, but it's not enough to just defeat this looming apocalypse. More importantly, we need to awaken the mechanical and numb hearts of these Moon Rabbits."

"Even though Moon Rabbits are loyal and obedient, if you tell them to work, they will, but that's because of orders, not because they want to. So, Comrade Incarnation, what we need to do first is establish an exemplar among the Moon Rabbits, for the power of an exemplar is boundless."

Dorothy: "....."

Looking at the Moon Goddess, who appeared to be an experienced official spewing one policy after another, the Homebody Witch remained silent, without words.

Good grief, no wonder my Inspiration was going off. What else did you inherit from me aside from those flashy combat effects?

"Alright, Comrade Incarnation, it's getting late, you should head back. Don't worry, I've got this under control,"

the Moon Goddess said confidently. Without waiting for the Homebody Witch's reply, she strode forward to consult with the nearby High Priest and Knight Commander.

"It's because you're in charge that I'm worried."

Dorothy was utterly numb.

She wanted to tell the Moon Goddess Incarnation to take it easy, but watching how, in just a few sentences, she managed to earn the serious admiration of both the High Priest and the Knight Commander, the leaders among the Moon Rabbits, Dorothy sighed.

Damn it, I had no idea I was so good at socializing. I have social anxiety for crying out loud, how can you be so capable? You must've also inherited the characteristics of the Carmine of True Red (small version).

...The Homebody Witch shivered with frustration...
