Part Time Teacher in Konoha

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Youth!

Forest of Death

Two figures were intertwined in combat, moving so fast their faces were impossible to make out.

Kitazawa came to a halt, surprise flickering across his face.

He had left the academy to look for Might Guy.

Bringing Hinata Hyuga along was simply a chance to give her some extra training.

Kitazawa did not step forward; he stood where he was, quietly appreciating this one‑on‑one duel between men.

He knew both fighters well.

Might Guy, clad in a tight green jumpsuit, looked distinctly eccentric.

Yet his opponent, Kakashi Hatake—with his shock of white hair and a black mask that revealed only his right eye—was just as eye‑catching.

Kitazawa kept his eyes fixed on Might Guy.

Soon, he saw Guy unleash a Leaf Great Whirlwind.

With nothing else to do, Kitazawa memorized the movements.

But movements alone were not enough—taijutsu hinged on how you generated power.

Unless one possessed a Sharingan, proper instruction was essential.

Bang!

The two men broke apart the instant they clashed.

"That's it for today," Kakashi said calmly after a pause. "Kitazawa's here—he must need something."

"Then we'll pick this up next time," Might Guy replied, still eager for more.

"Guy." Kitazawa stepped forward to greet them. "Kakashi."

"What brings you to us at this hour?" Kakashi asked, glancing at Hinata hiding behind Kitazawa.

"I just finished teaching and happened to be free."

Kitazawa gestured toward her. "This is my student, Hinata Hyuga."

"I'm very interested in the Hyuga clan's Gentle Fist," Guy said, eyes shining.

"She's only a child," Kakashi reminded him.

Guy scratched his head at that.

Though the Hyuga had a decent reputation, like the Uchiha they weren't easy to approach—the Uchiha because of their pride, the Hyuga because of their strict rules.

"Guy, I actually came to ask a favor," Kitazawa said bluntly.

"Then you two talk; I'll head back to Anbu," Kakashi said, disappearing before either could answer.

Kitazawa's mouth twitched.

He suspected Kakashi fled so fast to avoid being pestered by Might Guy.

In the original story, Guy saw Kakashi as his lifelong rival, constantly challenging him and wearing down his patience.

Truly, even heroes dread a persistent challenger.

"Can you teach me the Leaf Great Whirlwind?" Kitazawa asked outright.

"Of course!" Guy gave a thumbs‑up, teeth glinting. "Hot‑blooded youth should train together and sweat together!"

In canon, he even taught Kakashi the forbidden Eight Gates.

Compared with that, the Leaf Great Whirlwind was an ordinary taijutsu move.

"Thank you." Kitazawa's eyes lit up. "By the way, do you know Rock Lee?"

He always repaid kindness and grudges alike.

Though mighty, Guy's odd personality meant he had few friends.

Rock Lee was different—almost cut from the same mold.

In the original story they became near‑soul‑mate teacher and student—six years from now. Kitazawa could make it happen sooner.

"Never heard of him," Guy said after a few seconds' thought.

Kitazawa wasn't surprised—Lee was only a second‑year.

"Rock Lee, Class 2‑A," Kitazawa explained. "If you have time, look him up."

"Why?" Guy asked, puzzled.

"I think he overflows with the spirit of youth," Kitazawa smiled. "He'd be perfect for your taijutsu."

"Really?" Guy suddenly grew excited.

Teacher‑student bonds were common yet vital in the ninja world; most shinobi hoped to pass their skills on. Guy was no exception.

Finding his kind of student was tough, though—the Eight Gates were brutal to learn.

"See for yourself," Kitazawa said confidently. "He won't disappoint you."

"Wonderful!" Guy trembled, tears spraying. "This must be the power of youth!"

Kitazawa could only marvel.

Hinata simply gaped—What is going on? These adults are so weird.

"Excellent!" Guy wiped his tears. "Let's start a youthful lesson right now!"

"Hinata, since you're here, you'll learn as well," Kitazawa said, following Guy.

"O‑okay," Hinata answered, snapping out of her daze.

"Watch closely!" Guy stopped before a tree and shouted, "Leaf Great Whirlwind!"

He lashed out with a low kick that struck the trunk, then spun, turning it into a high kick.

Boom!

The tree shuddered violently; leaves showered down and a deep dent appeared in the bark.

"What incredible power," Kitazawa muttered.

Then again, in canon Guy's dedication was unmatched—aside from eating and sleeping, he trained ceaselessly.

"Your turn," Guy said, stepping aside.

Kitazawa copied the move exactly.

"Amazing!" Hinata blurted out—he'd nailed it on the first try.

"Have you learned this before?" Guy asked, noting the perfect form.

"No," Kitazawa shook his head.

He hadn't learned the Leaf Great Whirlwind, but he had mastered the basic Leaf Whirlwind.

"Kitazawa, study taijutsu under me!" Guy said, eyes shining with hope.

"I don't have that much training time," Kitazawa coughed and declined. "And we're classmates; becoming teacher and student would mess up the tandem."

Learning the Eight Gates meant a life of hardship.

Now that he had a system, he intended to enjoy himself a little.

Noon arrived.

After two hours of practice, Kitazawa fully mastered the Leaf Great Whirlwind.

[Current Mission: Learn a C‑rank jutsu faster than Sasuke Uchiha.]

[Reward: Manipulated Shuriken Technique.]

[Mission complete—reward granted.]

The Manipulated Shuriken Technique was both a jutsu and a shuriken‑throwing skill: by controlling shuriken with nearly invisible threads, one could strike unexpectedly.

"Guy, thank you for today. Lunch is on me," Kitazawa said, wiping the sweat from his brow. "What would you like?"

"Ichiraku Ramen," Guy answered after a moment's thought.

"What about you, Hinata?" Kitazawa asked.

Her fair cheeks were flushed, and her usually neat hair was in disarray from sweat.

"I‑I'm fine," Hinata panted.

"Then Ichiraku Ramen it is," Kitazawa said—already planning her second round of training.
