Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 716: Like A Guardian Angel

(Elarion – The King's Palace)

The revelation Kent made threw the king and his elders into a state of contemplation, leaving them wondering if turning Kent over to the Hand was a wise move or not.

Of course, they didn't want to become enemies of the Hand—that was the last thing they wanted. So they were drawn into a state of uncertainty.

Then there was the fact that Kent had just offered them an offer they couldn't refuse. The Spirit Grape Fruit he gave them was enough to raise their soul strength to a new level.

This meant that when offered to the people who would be entering the Flame Tower, their chances of comprehending a Flame Art were high. Flame cultivation mostly relies on the soul.

Of course, Kent said he would be giving them a thousand Spirit Grape Fruits and even help raise the Spirit Root of all four who would be entering the Flame Tower to the Immortal Grade.

That was just too much for them... but to Kent, it was nothing.

So they were caught in a bind, unsure of what to do.

But then Kent told them to contact the Hand and inform them he was in their kingdom. This gave them a way out...one they needed. However...

That was enough to tell them he had no intention of backing out, regardless of what they did. Kent already planned on setting the Hand straight, so he was waiting for them.

At that moment, the King had just informed the Hand of his whereabouts and put down the communication crystal.

"It is done," King Thalirion said with a sigh, unsure if he had just made the biggest mistake of his life. He never expected Kent to be this bold.

"No need to look down, King Thalirion. I am merely making sure that after today, the Hand won't set their sights on your people. Informing them is the right thing to do.

Now, as promised, here are the 1,000 fruits." Kent produced a pouch containing the fruit, which flew into the king's waiting arms. Then he retrieved another one.

"Inside this pouch are four Immortal Grade Ambrosia apples. You already know what they can do..." He gave that to the king and started walking away.

"I will be staying with a few friends after I take care of the idiots on the way. And don't worry, I will ensure no harm comes to your people."

After saying that, Kent walked away. He first headed to the city gate, where he planned to wait for his visitors.

Meanwhile, back at the palace, the king held the two pouches with delicate hands.

"What just happened?" one of the elders asked.

"Did we just receive not one but a thousand 10,000-year-old Spirit Grape Fruits?"

"Not just that, but four Immortal Grade Ambrosia apples. This is just too much by all standards."

The elders were shocked beyond their understanding.

"Is this the reason the Hand wants him dead? To steal his wealth," one of the elders wondered, and the rest couldn't help but think the same thing.

From their perspective, anyone would want to have a fraction of what Kent has, so it didn't take much to suspect the Hand wants his wealth.

"I mean, they did say he is wealthy, so I think they want his wealth."

"I think we will be able to raise more geniuses who, in a few years, will bloom into powerful warriors capable of standing toe to toe with the best in the world.

The time for our race to rise has come."

The elders were over the moon.

Even the king couldn't hold back his smile. "With this, we can finally show the Elves what it means to be hybrids... They have suppressed us for a long time. Finally, we can rise to the peak and challenge them on equal footing."

The elders clenched their fists, feeling anticipation wash through their bodies.

"What about Kent Madson... Do you think he will be fine? Shouldn't we go help him?" Naturally, as their benefactor, the elders started to worry about him.

However, the king shook his head.

"He said he will handle it, so the least we can do is trust him. If we were to join him, the Hand would start targeting us, and while we may be safe here, our people on the outside wouldn't be safe.

So we should trust him and see if he can handle it on his own, as he claimed."

The elders nodded, though they still felt like they were betraying Kent.

"Lord Yael, you will be overseeing the competition, so ensure Kent's name is added to the candidates' list. Though we don't know if he qualifies without doing the testing, he did say he met all three requirements."

Lord Yael, a pale-skinned, black-eyed, short-wavy, gray-haired, handsome man in his late 40s, nodded with a smile.

"Lord Zaltarish, be sure to find out who his friends are and make sure their status is raised. They may have just brought us a Guardian Angel."

Lord Zaltarish also nodded with a smile. As someone with Elven heritage, he was undoubtedly handsome, with amber eyes and wild crimson hair.

The elders and the king decided to raise the standard of living for their people immediately. They wanted to ensure they reaped every benefit from the wealth they'd just accumulated.

They no longer had to fear spending their reserve funds; they could tap into their backup funds and other resources. Just one Spirit Grape Fruit was already enough to keep them afloat for years to come.

And now they had 1,000 of those. So, as a race suppressed by others, this was their chance to spread their wings and ensure everyone had something to eat and a place to lay their head.

It wouldn't be an overnight change, but as it stood, they had gathered enough wealth to make life much more comfortable for everyone.

"Looks like they are here." After about 20 minutes, the king spoke, turning toward the city entrance.

"Let's go." Though they wouldn't be joining the battle, they would at least watch. However, regardless of the outcome, they would remain mere observers.
