Princess Fischl

Chapter 70: 69. Initiation 1/2

Chapter 69

As I rushed from street to street, I began to notice a certain trend more and more often. Overnight, many streets became empty, zombies gathered in separate piles consisting of literally thousands of zombies, some, like yesterday's, were tens of thousands, and knowing how huge the population was in this city, I would not be surprised if in densely populated areas the crowds were hundreds of thousands. However, this was only to my advantage, because according to my feelings, since arriving in this world, my reserve has increased by about 50% due to killing zombies, and although I do not plan to finish this quest until I learn Rune magic from Takashi, it is quite useful to have the ability to very quickly finish the stage with killing zombies in an emergency.

- How I miss wings. - I complained out loud. Although I left Oz to look after the others, and so that he could intervene in case of extreme danger. However, because of this, I can no longer fly on wings, the feeling of walking in the sky thanks to infinity is not as exciting as flying on your own wings.

However, even so, for the sake of completing the two-handed weapon daily, I blinked at another small group of zombies and began the massacre, acting according to the already proven tactic of containing my capabilities at a human level. Killing with skill, and not brute force, really speeds up progress.

"If only everything were so simple with the bow…" I sighed heavily, looking at the progress after another destruction of a crowd of zombies.

Only 20%. That's how much progress I was able to make in the daily shooting quest for the entire evening + night yesterday. Only the energy quest makes me happy every time. Thanks to the fact that I automatically maintain infinity, this quest can be said to be performed passively.

- Okay, I have two more hours. I need to spend them usefully before going back. - I said, putting the katana back in its sheath and taking out the stringless one. I have grown quite fond of this bow over the past months, I even seriously think about restoring the strings on it from time to time, so that in addition to being a murder weapon, it could be used as a harp. True, I don't know how to play it, but I think with my musical ear, it shouldn't be too difficult, and my experience playing the piano and singing in a choir from my past life will help.

Thinking about different things, I, no longer limiting myself, tried, making faster and faster and more accurate mass shots, mowing down as many zombies as possible in a short period of time.

Why didn't I limit my physical abilities during the shooting quest? Because it doesn't make sense when shooting, because the only thing that changes is the speed with which I shoot arrows, and so I shot five or more arrows at a time, at various, seemingly absolutely impossible angles, but despite the fact that I didn't use energy on the arrows themselves, they always hit the target, and my fantasy about what more complicated thing could be done, began to frankly pass. With the exception of perhaps the idea of aimed mass shooting from a long distance. However, due to the speed at a closer distance, the quest progressed faster. So I just shot crowds of monsters one after another, until it was finally time to go back.

Returning to the apartment we had chosen as a temporary shelter, the first thing I noticed was the slight smell of blood, as well as the noise coming from the kitchen, where I had actually headed. Entering the room, the first thing that caught my eye was a table set for five, at which the three of them and Oz were waiting for me, and then I noticed Takashi's bandaged leg, clearly indicating where the smell of blood was coming from.

- Haaa. - I sighed heavily and asked the question that was bothering me. - And how did you manage to get hurt again?

"We ran into some bandits at the supermarket," Takashi replied.

- Um, there were so many of them that even with Oz's help it was hard for you to fight them off? - I was surprised.

"Not exactly," the Guy answered evasively.

- Oz? - I looked at the raven.

- Sir Komuro eliminated the enemy quite quickly, but due to an amazing coincidence, the last bullet fired ricocheted right into his leg.

"Is this… Is this a joke?" I asked, amazed.

- No. Not a joke. - Takashi answered sullenly.

- There's clearly something wrong with your luck.

"It's more like the world is trying to hint to me that a craftsman shouldn't go to the front lines," the guy answered, still frowning.

- Okay. I see you've prepared dinner, so after eating I suggest we move on to the initiation you were talking about. - I said, sitting down at the table where there was rice and tempura-fried fish for everyone.

- It smells delicious, who cooked it? - I asked, taking the chopsticks in my hand.

"Saeko prepared all this," the teacher said with a smile.

Although what was prepared was not something complicated, it was still very tasty, so I could not praise the cook. - Your chosen one will definitely not have to starve.

- Well, it's not that it's anything special, it's just fish with rice. - The girl was surprisingly embarrassed, while shooting her eyes at Takashi, who also began eating with pleasure.

- You shouldn't belittle your skills, I'm sure many of our classmates haven't even been behind the stove, let alone cooked something as tasty. - the Guy began to speak.

"I'm glad you liked it," Saeko smiled.

- Gojo-san, I would also like to discuss our plans for the future journey, - Takashi addressed me.

"I already told you, just call me Fischl or Amy," I shook my head before throwing another piece of fish into my mouth.

- Yes, that's right, - said the boy. - I would like, after we sort out the initiation, to unite with the others, and then go after my mother.

- Do you know where they are? - I asked.

- Yes, today I was able to get through to my mother first, and then to them. Actually, I want to unite with the others because my mother asked me to take care of Rey.

- Hmm, so that's how it is. And where are they? - I asked.

"They gathered at Marikawa-san's friend's house and managed to get drunk yesterday," Takashi answered with obvious condemnation at the end.

- Drunk, huh? It's stupid, but understandable. In one day, their familiar world collapsed.

- I can understand it, - Takashi agreed. - But it doesn't make it any better.

- I'm interested in everything, - Kyoko began. - What initiation were you talking about?

"In short, I will give Takashi energy so that he can become a magician," I answered simply.

- Mmm... Can Saeko and I also undergo this initiation?

- Well, I don't mind giving energy, it all depends on Takashi. - After my words, all eyes immediately turned to the guy and he realized that refusal was not an option.

- Yes. Of course I don't mind.
