Reborn As A Phoenix With Beast Taming System

Flying in a circle above the forest, Ash sent his Qi detection ability onto the ground like pinging with high-frequency sonar. When his Qi Energy hit the ground below him, any common animal or weaker Earth Rank Immortal Beasts scurried away when Ash did a flyby above them.

With the strong wind beneath his wings, Ash thoroughly combed every plot of the forest for a whole day. After a while, he finally detected a signature Qi Energy that was similar to the Alpha Wolf. Before long, the horseshoe-shaped cliff with a huge cave opening in the deepest curve came into his view. A perfect dwelling for the communal Immortal Beasts.

By the time Ash descended from the sky, the wolf's puppies who were playing outside ran frantically into the cave when Ash's silhouette casted on the ground by the full moon's light.

A massive Alpha she-wolf emerged from the cave, stood imposingly at 15 ft tall on all four. Although she was a tad smaller than her Alpha Male, the Qi Energy around her was fiercer. Even without looking at the system notification, Ash could tell that she's a Fourth Stage Earth Rank Immortal Beast! Two rank higher than him.

However, the power gap was not such a big issue for him as long as he knew the weaknesses of his enemy. The Alpha she-wolf might have superior strength and agility. But, just as any land type beast, their feet were as frail as twig if you know where to hit them.

Upon landing on the ground, the Heavenly Phoenix was immediately surrounded by the young Abysmal Wolves who hadn't developed their Beast Core yet. Ash was utterly disinterested in killing these bunch of weaklings.

"How did you find us!?" She growled, transmitting her mind voice into his head.

Ash stepped forward, no fear was shown on his face despite the glaring difference of their body size when he looked straight into her eyes as if to challenge her into a fight between life and death. When he was close enough, he took out the Alpha Male's head and threw it like a bowling ball in front of her.

"I killed your husband. And now, you only have two choices! Surrender, and cripple your womb. Or, submit yourself to me and be my concubine!"

"What?!"

The Alpha she-wolf was utterly flabbergasted, her jaws were wide agape after hearing his ridiculous proposal. Killing another male Immortal Beasts in order to usurp their territories and take their partner of the same species was common practice in the Immortal Beast Realm in order to rise in power.

However, Abysmal Wolf and Phoenix mixed together? That was unheard of. In fact, no Immortal Beast in their right mind would do a cross species breeding attempt since it would be very dangerous for their genes.

Little did she know, everything that he said was a calculated plan that he cooked before he even landed his talons. Without a second thought, Ash summoned his [99 Feathered Arrows] and unleashed his [Feather Sword's Gather Array] consecutively.

"Xiao Shan!"

"Yes, Master!"

She already knew what to do without being told by him. In the next second, each of his arrows was charged with Lightning, ready to be released. Everything happened so fast, even the Alpha she-wolf couldn't even react in time. 

Stab! Stab!

Two arrows hit the ankles of her front legs, effectively incapacitated her mobility. Seeing their mother grimaced in pain, the young wolves attempted to help her but his Feather Sword's were already flying towards their neck.

"Nobody moves!" Ash spread his wings to the fullest, enacting his absolute dominance.

"No!" The Alpha she-wolf tried to bite the arrow but she got electrocuted instead. Shanguang made sure that her lightning energy was still tethered into the arrows.

"I suggest you not do anything rashly. That little Ligress of mine could fry your brains if she wanted to."

"What do you want from me?! My Beast Core?! Take it with you! So I can curse you for eternity! And you'll never reach the circle of samsara!"

"Circle of samsara? Hold on a minute. It sounds very familiar. Where or when did I hear it though?" Ash recalled the moment when he was reincarnated to this world. Though he felt he was in the void for a really long time, he indeed saw something or maybe even met with someone. But those memories were completely shrouded in white mist.

"Well, we can talk about it later. More importantly, who said that I will kill you? I just want you to become my concubine so we could live in harmony without killing each other." Ash said, puffing his chest.

"Hmph! I better off myself rather than being a slave of another tyrant!"

Ash sighed dejectedly. He really didn't want to end it this way. But, sacrifice has to be made and he will remember this moment for the rest of his life as the Heavenly Phoenix.

"As you wish. May your soul rest in peace."

As the Alpha she-wolf closed her eyes to accept her grueling fate, Shanguang felt a faint yet very palpable sadness from the wolf. She pounced forward before his talons pierced through the wolf's skull when she saw a scar on the wolf's nape.

"Master, wait!" The young ligress stood before him.

Ash's commanding gaze demanded an explanation from his disciple. However, he trusted her judgment and didn't act arrogant.

"Explain yourself." Ash said calmly.

"Can you please reconsider? Her Alpha Male might be an evil Immortal Beast who has a bottomless thirst for power and strength. But, she is different! Look at the scar on her back." Shanguang climbed onto the wolf's back, pointing at the specific spot with her left paw. "This is no ordinary scar. It's a brand which indicates that she was groomed by her Alpha Male against her own will! Please, Master! Trust me! Don't kill her yet!"

"Is that true?" He asked the wolf.

The Alpha she-wolf snorted. "Why would you care? You won the fight, just put me off already."

Ash caressed his lower beak. "For a second thought. You'd be more useful for me, alive. Moreover, you possess some information that I need… Tell me everything about the Circle of Samsara."
