Rise of the Rejected Deity from Chaos

Chapter 205: Seiya and Denga’s Bicker

"What are you doing?" Seiya's voice was cold, dripping with edge as he gazed up at the monster—evidently angered.

As if standing before a being higher than he could defy, the orc's muscles stiffened to a frozen state, stilling him in place. Seiya's words had come heavy enough to descend on the orc like a meteorite, making it impossible for him to even move.

The other monsters all halted, ceasing their attacks and turning their attention to Seiya. Neither of them moved, they simply stood still, eyes glued on Seiya.

Still maintaining his posture—hand raised with his sickle—the demon stared at Seiya in silence, mirroring the silent shock on all the others.

"Did he just…stop the monster with just his words?"

"The monster isn't advancing any further. He really stopped."

"They all stopped, and aren't making any move to attack him."

Murmurs rose from the Humanity Saviors at the sight before them, the demons watching with widespread eyes of shock, speechless.

As if still not satisfied with the demon halting, Seiya remained gazing at the demon, his anger not subsiding. He really would've liked to obliterate the monster with a single blow….but, he preferred it if the fight remained exclusively between them and the association.

That way, they can kill one another while he just watches.

A low sigh escaped Seiya, turning away to continue on his walk. As he walked down the path of blood and lifeless monsters, no one dared utter a word or block his path—not even the monsters. For they remained still on their spots.

At the far end of the village where a path trailed toward the temple, Seiya stopped.

"Will you come out or do I come fetch you myself?" He called out, looking toward the temple grounds.

For a moment, everyone wondered who he was speaking to, looking toward the direction he faced and seeing no one. But in the distance, a figure loomed, peeking from behind the temple walls.

They were all taken aback to discover someone still outside—an unsettling realization, as none of them had sensed it. Had the intensity of the battle blinded them to this presence, or was it simply a failure of their own ability?

"Come out," Seiya said, his voice steady, but a bit harsh—unwilling to waste anymore time.

Skeptical but unwilling to defy the words of their Lord, the figure—a young boy looking about 14 slowly walked down, coming toward Seiya.

Reaching Seiya, he crouched into a bow, straightening the next moment.

"Follow me," Seiya said and turned to start walking away. Behind him, the boy trailed, trembling slightly and avoiding the eyes of the Humanity Saviors and demons that scrutinized him.

He drew into himself, shoulders slumped like a boy chilled to the bone, trailing close behind Seiya, keeping as near to him as possible.

As they reached the center of the battlefield where monster corpses littered the ground with blood here and there, the monsters parted, paving way for Seiya to pass.

No one was fighting, everyone was on their spot, frozen in silence, and the fight looked as if it had been put on hold. All eyes were on Seiya like he was some art being displayed.

With every step he took, their eyes followed. As Seiya neared the barrier, Denga moved, appearing right in front of Seiya, causing Seiya to halt.

"Who could've guessed…" he grinned. "That one of them was out here." His eyes shifted to the young boy, piercing him intently and causing the boy to shudder.

"Confidently walking past here, acting calm and unbothered," Denga shifted his eyes back to Seiya, mildly angered. "We can tolerate you walking away as though there's nothing happening, but what made you think we'd let the boy go?" Denga asked, his face taut with simmering rage—feeling disrespected by Seiya's actions.

Clearly, Seiya had thought little of them to casually try to walk past them with one of the villagers they seek to exert revenge on.

Seiya kept silent, acting as though Denga's words hadn't reached him at all—blatantly disregarding him.

Denga's face twisted more in rage, Seiya's disregard an insult to him.

"He will die here!" Denga declared, his voice tight with finality.

A streak of movement was all their caught their eyes. Like a blur of moment that is caught with the blink of an eye. Before anyone could even realize, Denga was behind the boy, his claws sprout to dig and tear the young boy apart.

Denga towered over the boy, looking like a dark shadow, causing the boy's legs to wobble, bringing him to his butt on the ground.

The boy's eyes widened, trembling frantically within their sockets. His expression was dark with dread, sweating profusely, with low whimpers escaping him as Denga attempted to tear into him.

Seeing Seiya stand still with no attempt to even intervene or intercept Denga's incoming attack at the boy, one of the Humanity Savior's captains clicked his tongue in disapproval at Seiya, launching forward to intercept Denga's attack.

However, before the captain could reach or Denga's attack could connect with the boy, Seiya pivoted his foot swiftly, turning.

By the hand Denga extended forward, looking to tear the boy apart with his claws, Seiya caught him, ripping it away from his shoulder with effortless ease like one accustomed to it.

This not only ceased the captain mid-flight, it astonished everyone present. Without a second's waste, Seiya grabbed Denga by the throat, slamming him to the ground with such force that the impact erupted a cracking noise—kicking up dust.

The impact was so severe it cracked some of Denga's back bones, and as Seiya pinned him to the ground, pressing him down, pain jolted through his system.

Denga coughed up blood, thick and dark. But even then, a widespread grin bloomed across his face, his fangs gleaming with blood.

His stump from where his arm had been ripped, regrew anew in no time. With his claws still sprout, long and sharp, he wrapped both palms around Seiya's arm that choked and pinned him in place—his grin never wavering as he peered into Seiya's blindfolded gaze.

"You seem to be forgetting something," he cackled softly, a wet cough following the next breath. "My powers had only been bound against the Humanity Saviors, not you," he revealed with prideful confidence—hinting at Seiya that he held the upper hand—for he could just call over Seiya's heart or any part of his body.

"But with no mouth to utter those calls, it will all be pointless," Seiya responded immediately, crushing Denga's mouth with his other hand.

It was such a simple thing for him. He had simply wrapped a hand around Denga's mouth with his other hand, and crushed it beneath his weight so that it shattered Denga's mouth and jaw.

But in a minute, Denga's jaw regenerated. "And I could just heal every time you shut me up like that," Denga taunted with a mocking grin.

"Then I have no choice but to silence you." With a motion so swift that no one even knew would come, Seiya grabbed Denga by the hair with one hand, dug into his throat with the other and severed his head—then sent it hurtling into the barrier.
