Rise of the Rejected Deity from Chaos

Chapter 206: Entertainment Show

Seiya severed Denga's head, and sent it hurtling into the barrier. Or at least that was what he attempted. But as is well known, nothing can pass through the barrier unless it possesses any of Seiya's belongings or it's Seiya himself.

"You might not know this, but that barrier is an absolute defense, an unbreakable one. We all know you can't generate a new head when the old one is still alive, and with it trapped with me inside that barrier, you can't do much. Not when I'll be restraining your mouth," Seiya said, following the head he threw with an impeccable speed.

He caught up to it in no time, catching the head just before it reached the ground after being knocked off by the barrier. Seiya gripped the demon's head with one hand, while the other was wrapped tightly around his mouth—rendering the demon unable to speak.

Because Seiya had followed the demon with a speed so swift in order to catch up to it, he left the young boy behind by himself. Seeing Seiya leave the boy exposed with no means of protection, the Humanity Saviors couldn't quite understand his way of doing things.

Had he simply left the young boy exposed knowing fully well the demons were after him because he was so focused on getting to the demon's severed head?

Or had he done that because he was confident enough that he could still protect the boy despite their distance?

Standing in front of the barrier, Seiya turned his gaze toward the boy he had left in the distance.

"Come over here," he said, more like commanded because his tone was strict.

The young boy, still on his butt on the ground from Denga's attempt to kill him, couldn't put enough strength in his legs to rise. They all watched him in silence as he struggled to rise only to fall back over and over again.

After much struggle, the boy finally got on his feet. As he looked ahead toward where Seiya stood, he realized he would have to pass by several monsters to reach him.

The thought sent chills down his bones, chiding him to the core. How could he possibly walk past the monsters like they aren't monsters? It seemed too big a task for the boy, but it wasn't just anyone that had asked him to go over—it was Seiya—their Lord.

Despite the raw fear streaming through his veins like his own blood, the boy bravely took a step forward. Trembling, he took another, and another. Slowly, he started walking toward Seiya despite being shrouded in a gripping fear.

He walked past two monsters, and the monsters remained silent, not harming or blocking his way. However, before the boy could go any further toward Seiya, the two demons that were on the sidelines suddenly launched forward.

They aimed directly at the boy, fangs gleaming in the daylight, claws splayed, causing the boy to cease in place, trembling frantically.

Seeing what Seiya was capable of, the demons intended to activate their abilities once they got within range. But Seiya had no time for that. He was already getting impatient.

A streak of movement was all that caught their eyes. The next thing they saw was Seiya before the two demons headed toward the boy. Not only had he appeared before them mid-flight, he had also ceased them mid-flight.

With a hand each to their faces, wrapped and clenched, Seiya ceased them in place. Denga's head that was initially in his possession was nowhere to be found.

The Humanity Saviors were confused, glancing around for Denga's head. What had Seiya done with it? In that instant that he moved too fast for their eyes to follow, what did he do with the head?

Seiya hadn't actually done anything with the head. He had simply thrown it inside the barrier. Since nothing can access the barrier without possessing any of his properties, he plucked some strands of his hair, placed it atop Denga's head and shove it inside the barrier.

The villagers within were, of course, taken aback, shock and fear rippling through them as they saw Denga's head suddenly appear inside the barrier.

They maintained their distance, keeping far from it. At first, Denga was overjoyed, thinking he finally had the villagers at the tip of his fingers. But when he tried using his ability, calling over the hearts of the villagers, nothing happened.

It was a barrier for protection, after all. One that delivered ultimate protection.

Outside, the demons thrashed about, digging their claws into Seiya's arms, struggling to break free. But Seiya's grip was firm, never wavering.

"What exactly has got you both bustling about when you merely possess five measly hearts?" Seiya asked calmly, awaiting their responses like he doesn't have their jaws wrapped in a firm grip that they can't even utter a word.

The demons' eyes flickered to the side in their sockets, side eyeing each other as Seiya's question left them shocked. They were puzzled how Seiya came to know the amount of hearts they possessed.

Just who had snitched on them?

Even the Humanity Saviors, including the commander, were astounded.

He can tell how many hearts the demons possess just like that? The commander's mind reeled, evidently shocked and amazed at the same time.

He didn't know whether to be wary of Seiya since his capabilities only seem to be expanding. Or whether to be proud of him because he's his son.

"Just what is he?" A young Humanity Savior muttered under his breath.

"I would have ripped out all fives of your hearts had I not wanted this fight to solely be between you and the association," Seiya said quietly, unbothered whether it reached the Humanity Saviors' ears.

"Focus on what needs to be done, and never get in my way again," he commanded, letting them drop to the ground.

Under Seiya's unyielding grip, the demon's jaws had been wrenched from their hinges, sending waves of discomfort through them. They worked their mouths side to side, realigning the bones as the injury slowly knit itself back together.

Without another word, Seiya turned, walking back toward the barrier. The young boy immediately sprang to his feet, trailing hurriedly behind Seiya—unwilling to relive the misery of having to walk alone in the midst of the demons and monsters.

As Seiya walked away, Denga's headless body fussed aimlessly about—with no eyes to see, he could only wander. However, he continuously made hand gestures, aiming to get through to Seiya since his head was inside the barrier and in there, he couldn't communicate with the outside.

When Seiya and the boy made their way in, his mother immediately reunited with him, their emotions flowing freely about.

Seeing Seiya in the barrier, Denga immediately opened his mouth, pleading desperately.

"Let me go this once. I promise I won't get in your way until I finish wiping out the pests outside."

Denga pleaded over and over, begging Seiya to pardon him once more, and that he would actually focus on getting rid of the Humanity Saviors before turning to him.

After a while, Seiya gave in.

"Fine then, you better put on a good show out there. If you can, eliminate them all except the commander."

Plucking out his hair once more, Seiya used it to get Denga's head outside the barrier, waiting for the fight to resume like it was an entertainment show.
