Rise of the Rejected Deity from Chaos

Chapter 207: Mercy?

"This is stretching longer than it needs to," Denga said as his head rejoined his body.

Turning to the Humanity Saviors who stood opposite them, already almost done with dispatching the monsters, Denga stood tall like a grand commander of some sort—glaring at them with intense bloodlust.

"I ask you this. Will you all surrender now because you're clearly on the losing end," he said, eyes darting among the Humanity Saviors who looked bloodied and tattered from the fight.

"With no single weapon to fight, I don't see exactly how you'll destroy our hearts. Most of you here rely on the weapons," he added. "So how's it going to be? To surrender? Or to die?"

The male captain with his hair tied behind him smirked, his shoulders bobbing slightly.

"Weapons you say. We don't exactly need them but it is vital. And for possessing them, we do!" He swiftly turned his head to a female Humanity Savior, nodded at her and the girl responded with a single nod.

She stepped back, activating her ability and materializing a gate. Slowly, the insides of the gate thinned until it became transparent, revealing a warehouse of weapons.

Several kinds of weapons were arranged neatly. Swords, guns, axes, spears, daggers, and all sorts of weapons.

With a smirk still plastered across his face, the captain turned to Denga, a prideful air of confidence about him. "A direct gateway to the Association's weapons," he revealed, his smirk broadening into a mocking grin.

"We have no weapons, he said," he whispered, chuckling softly to himself.

"And the amazing fact about this ability is that…," he continued, pausing briefly to draw suspense from Denga. "…it's that your ability can't work on it. Not only yours, an outsider's ability can't! Amazing, isn't it?"

"Now, let's get this done with," the captain declared, turning to the girl.

He gestured to her with his head, and the girl nodded, stepping into the gate. Everyone watched as she walked about, gathering several swords and daggers.

After a moment, she stepped out with the weapons, and the gate closed behind her. Denga wanted nothing than call over the stack of weapons she carried. But with the blood binding his leg, he knew he couldn't.

The girl passed the weapons over to the Humanity Saviors in need of it, and they all went back into formation—ready to put an end to it.

Even though Denga's been bound to not use his ability against them, he still possessed weapons to fight them.

The fight between both parties resumed, drawing an intense clash that rippled through the village grounds.

It went on for a while, weapons clanging, abilities clashing, fleshes tearing, and blood pouring. Though the demons were a force to be reckoned with, making the Humanity Saviors exercise their abilities and skills to the fullest, at the end of it, the Humanity Saviors stood tall—taking the victory for themselves.

After so much struggle, the Humanity Saviors defeated the monsters, and the two demons—with Denga severely injured and barely alive.

Seeing his comrades and their minions dead, and him on the verge of death, Denga knew his fate was already sealed. And as always, he had to make use of his singnature move—running away.

As Denga is blasted toward the entrance of the village by a female captain, he crashed through the air, skidding across the ground and landing far away from them.

He immediately saw it as his opportunity to escape before any of them could reach him. Like before, a tiny pool of wind like a vortex, resembling a gate, whirled behind Denga.

A small smile graced his lips as he lifted his bloodied gaze at the Humanity Saviors whose faces beheld shock. They had all thought his ability was solely limited to calling and claiming things.

The Humanity Saviors took off immediately, desperation fueling their movements as they saw Denga's escape as a dangerous threat they couldn't allow.

"Damn it! We can't make it in time!"

Before any Humanity Savior could close the distance, Denga was already being swallowed by the vortex, his smile broad and prideful.

While still running toward him, the Humanity Saviors had already known within them that they couldn't reach him, and that his escape was inevitable.

But from out of their line of sights, a streak of movement flashed past them. And the next thing they saw was Seiya tearing Denga from the vortex.

"Not today, no," Seiya said as he ripped Denga from the vortex, slamming him onto the ground.

The Humanity Saviors halted mid-flight, their faces blooming with brief surprise then relief that Denga was caught.

They watched from their spot as Seiya pressed a foot atop Denga's wounded form that was already healing, pinning him in place.

"Didn't you say today was the day we fight?" Seiya asked, standing tall and peering down at Denga trapped beneath his feet.

"Agh!" Denga breathed, pain jolting through his injured body. "You're really that obsessed with me, aren't you?" He smirked, coughing up blood.

Seiya's gaze turned blank behind his blindfold, Denga's words too silly for him to even respond.

The Humanity Saviors simply watched in silence, unsure what to make of the interaction between Seiya and Denga. They didn't know whether the relationship between them were of friendship or enemies.

"How about you let me go this once, hmm?" Denga quipped softly, his eyes pleading. Seiya remained gazing down at Denga, silent and not doing anything.

"He's not really going to let him escape, is he?"

"You must be kidding me."

"Surely not."

The Humanity Saviors watched in anticipation, a bit nervous since Seiya wasn't taking any action after pinning Denga in place. Surely, he wasn't going to let a demon escape just because he pleaded….right?

"If you let me go—" Denga coughed, spitting out blood. "If you let me go this once, I promise I won't run away again when next we meet."

"And I will make sure to put up a good fight that will entertain you," he added, his breaths shallow and painful.

As Seiya remained silent, the eyes of the Humanity Saviors widened, a creeping unease settling over them like an unwelcome chill.

"You must be kidd—He's really going to pardon him?!!!"
