Chapter 8: To The Rescue!
"Aaahhh!"
The researcher cried in despair as one of the Antimatter soldiers lifted its sword above her head. Closing her eyes, she prayed her end to he swift and painless. Anosta, I'm sorry for not fulfilling our promise.
But the promised pain did not come, only searing heat...
Opening her eyes, she was met with only the lower half of a body, its upper portion missing, the only evidence of its existence being the molten remains beside it. "Child, are you okay? Here, take a lollipop, it will make you feel better..."
As a weirdly archaic doctor popped out a lollipop from his bag, she turned her head towards his back, where she heard more sounds coming from.
Wielding his spear, Dan Heng easily dispatched the Antimatter soldiers, skewering them into shish kebab wherever he went. March 7th, with her (amazing) bowmanship, froze each Distorter that attempted to aim the Reavers towards the fleeing researchers.
And just when March was about to be shot at by an Eliminator, a metal bat swung itself onto its head, crushing it into meat paté. The researcher could only watch in awe as the Nameless that had descended upon their station easily dispatched the invading army, beating them back slowly.
But she paid more attention to the 3 m tall hulking brute, wearing what appeared to be a very primitive looking powersuit. Though it seemed to weigh nearly half a ton, the being wielding it used it with great finesse, dancing through the reavers, demolishing them with ease. She could only watch in abject awe as the warrior, with his bare hands, crushed every Reaver's head into paste, as if they were oranges. When a Trampler came charging through, she nearly peed in fright. Just as she was about to warn him, her jaw dropped to the ground.
Without turning their head, it took out an archaic chainsword. Before it could even register itself, the Trampler found itself impaled onto the sword. "For the Emperor!"
With a quick swipe, the Trampler found its upper half detached from the rest of the body, bisected by the sharp blades of the chainsword. Using all its strength, the mysterious warrior, using its sword as a fulcrum, flipped the upper half into the air. Deftly grabbing a large Bolter from its holster on its left side, it quickly aimed up, firing three bullets rapidly. With large explosions, they burst into the body, showering the floor with their flesh, before rapidly decaying into black smoke.
As the researcher sat paralysed from the spectacle, the warrior noticed her. With large steps, it inched closer and closer, until her vision was filled blue. Just as she was wondering what it would do, it removed its helmet from its head.
"Young miss, are you alright...?"
Her breath was taken away. Expecting a robot for a head, or worse, a cockroach, she felt herself dizzy at the sight in front of her.
A smooth, chiselled face stood right in front of her, his face scarred from various battles. His lips were mismatched from various wounds, making them asymmetrical. Two golden studs were seen protruding from the top of his brows, clearly embedded deep in his skull. Yet despite all these flaws, she felt herself being drawn into his calm, collected demeanour.
She fell in love
"U-umm mister? Are you free this coming weekend–"
"Hey, Himeko and Mr. Yang, we're here!"
