Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 857: 854: Liked It

As Corey gazed at the rewards listed on the translucent screen before him, he did not need to think twice on what decision to make.

He already knew what rewards he wanted.

'Maledro's Gu Evolution Catalyst and Death's Key.'

'These two are definitely what I have to get.'

Every reward that was listed out was truly incredible, and even Corey knew this.

The first reward, a skill evolution stone that worked only on Domains.

When Corey's gaze first landed on the words- Skill Evolution Stone- he had already told himself that he was going to choose the reward, thinking that it was the same Skill Evolution Crystals he had used in the past.

However, when he read its description, his desire for it reduced.

Unlike Skill Evolution Crystals which could evolve any skill of his and also allow him to make changes to any skill he created, The Domain Skill Evolution Stone could only work on Domain Type skills.

And it could only evolve a domain to the peak of its realm.

The effect of the Domain Skill Evolution Stone felt lackluster to him, especially when he was certain that with his vast mental prowess, he would definitely be able to improve his only Domain Skill- Toxic Domain, to the peak of the Astral Realm.

As for what it meant for his Domain to be evolved to its peak state, Corey had a few guesses.

And the one that is most likely to be correct is that his skill proficiency of Toxic Domain would evolve to the Creation Level.

The skill proficiency levels were Basic, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, Master, Unparalleled, Transcendent, Origin, and Creation.

He had increased his skill proficiency level of majority of his skills to the Transcendent level, and Toxic Domain was one of them.

Although there were only two proficiency levels left, the difference between Transcendent and Origin was as vast as the difference between Basic and Transcendent.

It was maybe even greater.

And for Creation?

Corey had no idea, and he had never read or come across information on skills at the Creation level.

In fact, what he knew about Origin skill proficiency level was extremely little.

However, despite the fact that he currently has the opportunity to have a skill at the Creation Level, it was not so appealing to him.

Not only did he have the confidence to improve his skill proficiency level of his skills to the Creation Level, he was also put off by a single word in the definition of the Domain Skill Evolution Stone.

----

1. [Skill Evolution Stone- Domain Tier]: A mysterious crystalline item that forcefully evolves a single Domain-type skill to its peak state within its realm i.e Astral Realm or Mystic Realm.

WARNING: May cause backlash if user's comprehension of the skill is insufficient.

----

The words, forcefully evolves, was something he did not like at all.

He did not like the fact that the evolution of his skill would be fixed and he would have no say in it.

As for the warning?

It did not matter to him because if there was one thing he did not lack. It was comprehension.

The second reward was one which was surprising to him because it was something he never expected to get.

A title.

He had never received a title as a system reward, and after all the knowledge he obtained in the Underworld and outside the Underworld, he knew that Titles were rare.

Although there was no official grading system for Titles from the Universal System, it was said that Titles themselves had grades.

There were some titles that were extremely common and had basic effects like a minor increase to one's strength, agility, or constitution.

For example: Goblin Slayer, Wolf Slayer, Dungeon Explorer, and so on.

And there were some titles that were rare and had uncommon effects.

Regardless of whether a Title was common or not, nobody rejected having a Title or looked down on any Title because it was not only a boost to one's strength, it could also serve to improve one's foundation when ascending to the high ranks.

Corey did not need anybody to tell him about the Title that was offered to him.

Eclipse Slayer.

Once he read its definition, he already knew that the Title was extremely unique and powerful.

In fact, he had a feeling that the Title was something that even the elites of the Universe could not obtain so easily.

Why?

Because it dealt with Eldritch Beings.

----

2. [Title: Eclipse Slayer]: A unique Title granted to those who defeat beings whose cores possess dimensional mutations

Passive Buff: +20% resistance to conceptual damage and spiritual corrosion.

Title Effect: Grants minor passive suppression effect against Demi-Eldritch Beings

----

Not only did the Universal System state that the Title was unique, its passive buffs and title effects showed just how unique the Title was.

Corey was not a 100% sure what conceptual damage was, but he had an idea.

And if he was right, then the Title would have been a little bit helpful to him.

And it was just that... A little bit helpful.

A 20% resistance was not something he looked down on, but the reason why it was not truly helpful to him is because if he ever fought beings that could use concepts to fight, he would lose regardless.

If he was right, Eidolon was able to use a fraction of a conceptual power in its last spiraling beam of attack, and just a tiny beam had been able to bypass his defenses like it was non-existent and cause him serious injuries.

Having the Eclipse Slayer title would definitely be extremely helpful against such attacks in the future, but he knew that it wasn't enough to guarantee his life.

A 20% resistance was not a 100% resistance.

As for Spiritual Corrosion, he was less worried about that because when it came to his spirit, he was confident in being able to protect his spirit from Tier 6s, and maybe even from Tier 7s.

Apart from the passive buff the title gave him, the title effect which granted him a minor passive suppression effect against Demi-Eldritch Beings was tempting.

But not tempting enough.

Many individuals would choose the skill because it allowed ones presence to have a passive suppression effect, no matter how little, on Demi-Eldritch Beings.

If there was one thing that Corey knew, it was that beings that creatures that possessed Eldritch properties were extremely rare. In fact, they were so rare to the point that only 1% of the entire Universe had encountered them.

Unlike Corey who always seemed to encounter creatures with Eldritch properties all the time, what others encountered were ferocious beasts and 'normal' monsters.

Corey had taken note of this for some time, but he did nothing about it since in a way... a part of him expected it.

He was a Demi-Paragon with the blood of the Paragon Ancestor in him. He was a being that had the potential to conquer the universe and beyond.

Normal beasts and monsters like goblins, orcs, bears, apes, lions, golems, and the likes were beneath him.

He was not surprised that he was always drawn or placed in situations where he always had to fight extremely horrifying beings or beings that were far beyond him in power.

Some would be afraid or paranoid if they were in his shoes, because encountering horrifying Eldritch Beings so many times was not normal at all.

But Corey?

He was used to it.

And...

He liked it.
