Supreme Upgradation System: Cultivating in a Demonic Sect

The next day, the same old man appeared again and took all the children trapped inside the cell out of it. Then he ordered them to follow behind him and started walking without giving any of the children a second glance.

This might look like an opportunity to run away but all the children were aware that currently they were inside a scary demonic sect. So even if they could manage to get out of this jail, they would still not be able to run away.

So none of them tried to run and just obediently followed behind the old man. Most of the children were scared of the demonic cultivators and they did not even have the courage to look up at them. So they kept their heads lowered while following behind the demonic old man.

After walking for some time through the streets of the demonic city, all the children appeared before a large cave. There was a rock blocking the cave and the surface of the rock had some pattern drawn with deep red blood.

The old man made some complex hand signs and the blood red pattern started to shine with a black radiance. Then the closed cave started to slowly open.

While that was happening, the old man turned around toward the scared disciples and started to tell them about what was going to happen next with a disinterested tone of voice.

What he told was common knowledge for anyone living in the world of cultivators. But as all the children present here were mere mortals before coming to the demonic sect, this simple common knowledge was a very valuable peace of information to them.

It turned out that the source of the cultivation talent was the spiritual roots. These roots could naturally awaken after a children had turned 15 years old but there were ways for this awakening to happen artificially before the predestined time.

Righteous sects normally did not use those kinds of forced awakening methods as that might hurt the cultivation potential of a disciple but the demonic sects gave no regard to that thought.

That was especially the case for the Blood Sea Sect as their foundational cultivation technique did not required a high talent threshold. For that reason, they always awakened all their seeds forcefully without worrying about if that was good for them in the long term or not.

So today, all the children present here were going to have their spiritual roots forcefully awakened. There was a chance that this forceful awakening would harm the children here. There was also a high chance of death. But that was not a problem for the old man. If anyone really died then he would just absorb their blood. No one was going to blame him for the death of an useless little child.

Most of the children here were scared about what was going to happen to them next but at the same time they were also a little bit excited as now they would finally be able to cultivate like immortals from legends. Even though they were in a Demonic sect, this thought still made them excited.

Li Feng was also looking forward to it. He could have awakened his spiritual roots in just a few months without even the forceful awakening but now that he might be able to start cultivating early, he did not mind it at all.

After walking for 20 minutes, the old man and the children appeared in the middle of a large cavern. The old man then again made some complex hand signs and an underground passage suddenly opened up. The old man immediately entered that underground passage and the children also followed behind him without even being told.

The underground passage took them to a medium sized room. There was nothing in this room except for a red orb and as soon as Li Feng saw that he got notified by the system that an advanced upgradation card could be used on this orb.

This was actually the first object that Li Feng had seen which could be upgraded by an advanced upgradation card. But this orb was not something that he owned. So he was not foolish enough to use a precious advanced upgradation cards on it.

That old man stood before the orb and took out a blood red token. After touching that token, the blood red orb became activated. It started to glow with an eerie red light which quickly filled the whole dark room. This creepy red light made the already scary room to become even scarier.

As the red glow of the eerie light washed over him, Li Feng suddenly started to feel a burning sensation in his chest. After that, suddenly a strong sense of pain assaulted him.

This pain was quite severe but Li Feng was able to endure it. In his previous life, he had the experience of breaking quite a few of his bones in an accident. That painful experience helped him to cope with the pain here.

He was not the only one who was feeling this pain. All the children around him had also started to feel the pain when the red light had reached them. Most of them did not have the mental endurance of Li Feng, so they could not help but scream in pain.

But fortunately, this pain did not last for very long. After just a few moments, all the pain suddenly disappeared. Immediately after that, the system notified Li Feng that his spiritual root had awakened and now he was able to use an ultimate upgradation card on it.
