Chapter 18: Teach me your ways (18)
For those wondering, yes Sora did it, the way he did was quite simple really, first step all he had to do was take some of the Reishi that Uryu stored near himself in case he needed to use it for something.
The reason why he needed the Reishi that Uryu stored was simple, he didn't want any evidence of his Reiatsu anywhere near the crime scene, so after taking that Reishi, like a good Quincy, he made a Reishi construct, something basic really.
Something that helped him put the glue in the shampoos, genius really, the second the deed was done, he let the Reishi scatter everywhere cause why not, with the Reishi now basically at multiple places at once and probably all over Karakuta town at this point.
He was free, and he did all that while training with Sokken the whole time, jeez being able to form Reishi constructs was a plus, and even if he did slip up and make a construct there, he could just chuck it up to his training.
A perfect plan indeed.
Well, enough of him being devious, he hoped that he didn't fail, as he was in no mood to repeat a class, especially after pranking Uryu that hard.
Though he has to get his acting right, it felt off...heh, acting like that didn't fit his outgoing style but Uryu deserved it.
How dare he not tell him a test was coming, he the great Sora, the strongest Quincy, debatably, you know what just the strongest 10-year-old in this town, probably in the world, he alone stood at the top of all the kids.
Speaking of which, he could switch between blue vein and blue arteries, takes like 3 seconds to switch but it is better than the 10 seconds he started with, with adaption he can probably switch between them every 0.001 seconds, like 1/100 of a second, probably could get it up to 1/1000 of a second with another spin but that wasn't on his mind right now.
He opened his mouth and yawned a bit, with Blue Vein, he could take a fully charged arrow from Sokken and take no damage, and with blue arteries, all his attacks were boosted to no end, something around like 10x to 15x times more.
Though it really depends on how much Reishi poured into it, looking at his hand, he felt like he could just continue getting stronger and stronger without stopping at all.
The sky was the limit, with that power he would make sure no one he loved got hurt.
He wondered if he could make an area of effect shield, like pushing blue Vein out of his body somehow and use it like a Reishi-constructed shield.
Heh, he will figure it out soon, he practically mastered all the Quincy stuff, all there was left was the forbidden stuff and well you know, Letz Still or whatever it is called.
Though training was beginning to feel way too easy, Reishi was coming to his way too fast and he could feel like this would make him slack off.
And thus, he went to Ryuken with his trouble.
Upon noticing the boy, Ryuken raised an eyebrow. Sora looked at the man before saying.
"Mean adult sir, Can I ask you for...a favor"
Ryuken brow furrowed a bit, at first at his name being called mean adult, however, he gazed at the boy before saying.
"What do you want?"
"So, hum, I wanted to help make some food for Uryu, but I don't know what he liked, do you know his favorite food"
"homemade mackerel miso stew"
The man replied sternly as if he had memorized by heart.
"Can you..teach me" Sora looked like an adorable child, far from the truly devious child he actually was, he was quite adaptable.
The man's expression remained quite cold, however, he went toward the kitchen and Sora followed after him.
Sora was going to see a master at work.
Ryuken stood in the kitchen, his white hair waving with the wind, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, he was going to show this young man what he truly was capable of.
Sora could already smell the simmering Miso filling the air, the wheel above his head spun as he watched the man go to work.
He could smell mackerel, he could feel it cook gently in the pot.
Ryuken moved with practiced ease, his large hands deftly slicing ginger into thin, even match sticks.
The rhythmic sound of the blade against the cutting board punctuated the quiet hum of the stove.
He watched as the man added ginger to the pot, he watched as the man controlled the heat, and he could smell the earthy fragrance that complemented the savory broth.
Oh yeah, this smelled nice.
*Click*
Using a wooden spoon, the man begins to stir the stew carefully, ensuring the miso paste dissolves completely, giving the broth its creamy texture.
Well this was like watching a master at work, he liked that.
The Mackerel pieces floated in the golden liquid, their silvery skin gleaming faintly as the stew thickened.
Ryuken paused for just one moment, he first tasted the broth to make sure it was up to his standard.
Though he used a different spoon for the tasting, that was good to know.
He seemed to like it, he took a bottle of mirin before pouring a precise splash into the pot in order to balance the flavors with a hint of sweetness.
He watched as the man added vegetables like- daikon radish, scallions, and a handful of shiitake mushrooms into the mix.
Almost felt like the man was born with those skills
When it was done, the man added some finely cut scallions into the mix.
Sora got on his knees before bowing down to the man.
"Please teach me...pretty please"
Yes...he had no shame, he wanted to learn how to cook, no biggy, it had nothing to do with the fact that he wanted to be able to cook Uryu's favorite to use it as bl...to be a better big brother yeah, nothing to do with using it as a way to get the boy to do what he wants.
Nah. he was a good boy, not devious at all.
A/N
For anyone trying to guess where he is at right now in terms of strength, he will beat Renji while the seal is on the Gentei Reiin, and if the seal is off, as long as he keeps his range he wins, Renji does not want a drawn-out fight.
The same goes for Soul Society Byakuya, though that fight more likely end with Byakuya winning as once again battle experience is busted, though his progress will start slowing down as barely anything is a challenge anymore. As for the Byakuya fight, if Byakuya goes for the kill instantly which he probably won't, and Sora adapts to it, it's gg. Senbu Zakurai doesn't shit to him anymore.
