The Adaptive Quincy of Bleach

Chapter 24: Peer pressure (24)

The next day, Sora surprisingly was back home.

He got up with his usual giddy attitude; there seemed to be a pep in his step. This was where the fun of messing with them really began.

"What's got you in such an eager mood?"

Uryu asked as they were getting ready.

Sora just smiled—a bright, wide smile.

Uryu felt a shudder run down his spine. This was not good at all.

He truly felt bad for whoever Sora was planning this for.

Somewhere in someone's closet, a small girl sneezed.

She touched her nose, wondering who could possibly be talking bad about her. No worries; she had a book to finish.

Time skip.

Later that day, as they approached closing, Sora waited with a giddy expression, thinking, Oh, this is going to be fun. So fun.

As Rukia walked into the class, using her usual kind demeanor, Sora cleared his throat and approached the girl.

"Rukia-san…"

The girl turned around to look at him.

"Do you need anything from me, Sora-kun?" Her act was perfect, though Sora wondered how long it would last.

"Yesterday night, when I asked you out, you agreed. I wanted to know when we could hang out again," he said while nervously making his index fingers touch over and over again, mimicking a shy anime girl.

This was perfect. Rukia's face dropped, and she didn't seem to understand what was going on. She shot a glance at Ichigo, who just acted like he didn't see her.

"Sora-kun, you must be mistaken. You must have gotten the wrong person." Once again, she kept her demeanor composed.

"Oh… but Dad said you carried me back home last night. Apparently, he even told my relative overseas," Sora replied, his voice just loud enough for everyone to hear. He, on the other hand, acted all innocent.

He turned around to look at Uryu.

"Cousin, you were there too. You were the one who told me she dropped me off."

Upon realizing what Sora was doing, Uryu, for just a split second, felt bad for Rukia. She probably thought Sora was just an ordinary student. How wrong she was.

He pushed his glasses back before saying, "You are correct."

Sora turned back to face Rukia, a bright smile on his face.

Rukia was on the losing end here. Who could have thought carrying him back to his place would doom her like this?

Out of all the scenarios she could have imagined, why was the one she saw the one where they dated?

Realizing all the glances directed at her and the murmurs in the class, alongside Sora's little act, she was trapped.

"Oh my, how silly of me. I must have forgotten," she said sweetly, though he knew she was faking it.

Well, who cares? He wondered how much more he could tease her.

"Great! Here, I got a little gift for you."

He handed her a cute bunny plushie. He chose a bunny because he knew it was her favorite. He had learned that from one of her visits to Urahara's shop.

Oh, was that a genuine blush on her cheeks? How cute.

Getting a Shinigami to blush was not something he expected to see.

"Thank you," she replied softly, trying to hide her blush. How fun.

Uryu, meanwhile, sighed to himself.

Here his cousin went again with one of his elaborate schemes.

One second, he seemed average in intelligence, but the second it had to do with something devious, he suddenly became a genius.

Oh well, at least this time it wasn't targeted at him.

POV change.

Ichigo could be seen trying to hold in his laughter as Rukia looked annoyed.

"Don't you dare laugh."

"…So, how was the date…?"

Rukia looked visibly annoyed.

"So, how do you plan on solving this?" Ichigo asked after he finished laughing.

"I was planning on just not showing up. I can just undo his memory again," Rukia said with a thoughtful look.

"But then you'd have to undo everyone's memory—all the students, his dad. No matter how you look at it, you'll have to show up," Ichigo added.

Rukia nodded but looked annoyed.

A light bulb seemed to go off in her head.

"Fine, I'll go on the date. However, at the end, I'll find an excuse to say we don't click."

Her eyes then went toward the plushie. It looked very cute, and she couldn't help but feel like snuggling it.

Timeskip.

As Sora was working at the shop, he made sure to put a bit of effort into it.

Urahara noticed the pep in Sora's day and decided to inquire.

"Someone seems happy today. May I inquire as to the reason?" the man asked, sipping on some tea.

"I got a date," Sora said with a smile on his face.

"Oh really! May I know who the un… lucky lady?"

Was that bastard trying to say "unlucky lady"?

"Rukia…"

"..."

Everything went dead silent.

"As… in… Rukia Kuchiki?"

"Yeah, that's her," Sora said with a smile on his face.

Urahara's brow furrowed a bit.

"Didn't take Miss Kuchiki to be into dating."

"I didn't either, but yesterday, we went on a date."

"You DID, huh!" Urahara glanced at Sora. Something here wasn't adding up.

"Strangely enough, today when I asked her about it, she seemed unaware, like it was some sort of fake memory or something."

The man spat out his drink.

Oh, damn.

However, even if she had used something to implant fake memories, it shouldn't work. Sora's Reiatsu level was way too freaking high for it to be effective.

So, it was either that Rukia had a technique that worked against people with captain-level Reiatsu or… due to his Reiatsu being suppressed so much, it worked.

Either that or Sora was just messing with her.

Never thought he'd find another Yoruichi here, but oh well. He decided to help with the shenanigans.

"Oh, then I've got exactly what you need for her."

Sora followed the man. This was going to be fun.

A/N...Sora mentions the oversea relative thing basically in order to say, she is cornered, there is no way she can memory wipe everyone, especially if she doesn't know where they live and how they look like.

He got his mischievenous from his mom, along side her eyes.
