The Almighty King Reincarnated

In Xero's mind, the date was progressing smoothly than he had imagined.

Honestly speaking, he was fairly satisfied with it. All that there was left to do was wait for the fireworks display with Misaki and then he could go home, and that would be mission accomplished with amazing results. 

The fireworks display was being held in the evening, and the sky was showing strong signs, with a purplish, orange hue. 

But in Misaki's mind, she thought the opposite. 

Although this date was planned ever since Misaki had interest in him, the two hardly even talked — even on the date itself. Especially Xero, since he's the silent type. She had worked so hard to drag Classmate Xero out from his zone, only for the conversations to be dry and quiet. But no way in hell is she gonna give up now! 

The maiden blinked her beautiful emerald eyes to Xero, perhaps after the fireworks we can… do something else? 

Like find a dark secluded corner or spot, two people face-to-face…

And maybe a little… "romantic" closeness. 

There were actually a good number of couples that had gathered at the Yang Family Area for the display. It was actually really popular among couples to come here for a date. So Misaki had this deeply planned! 

Cuddling, hugging, offering chocolates, wrapped around each other's arms, and even sitting on a flying sword, cuddling… There were taking all kinds of positions to show their affection. 

Xero and Misaki took a seat at the secluded spot, it was the best place to watch the fireworks with beautiful display. Shortly after, they waited obediently for the fireworks to start. 

And once again… the situation turned awkward. Usually in the romcom manhuas, they would just kiss at this point. But them? They were awfully quiet! 

Humans were quite strange. They would work so hard to be close with someone, only for them to be too flustered to take the first step.

Xero's heart skipped a beat. A danger warning? Why would there be a danger warning now, especially in this moment? 

Whatever the case, Xero was constantly on guard because of his twitching nose! Like a f*cking security guard on steroids! 

At that very moment, the fireworks display officially began. 

Standing on the high platform, two Yang clansmen fused two clusters of brightly and vividly colored natural fire together, slowly transforming them into a fire Phoenix and throwing them into the air. 

Everyone there watched with great interest and awe. 

The fire Phoenix hummed to life and flew around, with a fiery breath. At the same time, Lotus roses that were made the same way, were floated into the air, creating several colors. A dazzling display was shown before them. 

Suddenly, Xero saw in peripheral vision, two men in black walking towards them rapidly. 

His instinct told him that they were coming for Misaki.

Misaki did not sense the two men coming at them at all, and was engrossed in the view. 

By the time she felt something cold pinned against her back, it was already too late. 

One of the men stretched out a hand by the shoulder to restrain Misaki from escaping, while the other quickly pinned a gun against Xero's back. 

"Who are you two? What do you want from us?" Misaki was a little startled, but at the same time, she was actually pretty calmer than Xero had imagined. 

He leisurely raised one eyebrow. After all, the Young Miss of the Yunhua Lotus Group did not earn her reputation for nothing. She was calm in critical situations like these.

"Us? No, no." The man in black chuckled. "We're not here for Mr Zhang and you. We're here for Miss Aoi only." 

Misaki's eyes widened a little, they were here for her?

Cold sweat dripped down Misaki's forehead. 

The Shadow Emblem was notorious for its flawless assassination attempts. It was a secret organization that had been run for one-hundred years, and during its time, not a single victim had came home alive. They were feared, especially in Qinghai, but the government couldn't do anything because of how smart the leader actually is. Until this day, the leader of the Shadow Emblem has not been caught. Even if you even want to organize an attempt with them, you have to pay in bitcoin! So the families that do this, aren't less powerful than the Aoi Family! 

Misaki knew all too well that the gun that was pinpointed against her back was made with qi enhanced bullets, so if that gun fired, it would have no problem going through a Foundation Phase cultivator's chest. Misaki had received special training from the Yunhua Lotus Group, and knew how to respond in such a situation. Although she didn't want to die early, she also didn't want Xero to die too. So, she made a prompt decision.

"He's just a classmate, not my boyfriend! Fine, okay… Take me. But leave Classmate Zhang alone. Let him walk free!"

Xero was quite surprised. That she was willing to risk her life just for him. 

Through the strength they possessed, Misaki could tell that they were at least at Golden Interior Stage. 

"You guys are Shadow Emblem's best killers right?" With the badge that were on their chests, she knew that they were masters at this, and have probably did this hundreds of times. 

One of the men in black chuckled darkly, "She's quite perceptive. Especially in a situation like this…" 

Yunhua Lotus Group had made enemies here and abroad — who was it that wanted her dead so badly? But all that aside, this wasn't the right time to ponder about this. 

Her best plan she could quickly come up with, was to decrease the number hostages first and then find a way to inform someone on the outside. 

Meanwhile, Xero was reading Misaki's mind…

But the two confident men in black were especially prepared for this attempt to go smoothly as the others. 

One men in black, brought out a black sleeping pill. "This is an instant sleeping pill that will make the target sleep the second the person swallows it. If your supposed classmate eats this, we will let him go." 

If Xero ate the pill, the men in black could be even more relaxed as he would not be able to alert authorities if he walked free. 

With so many people around, Xero didn't want to lift a finger to erase the men permanently because that would be too eye-catching. The least he could do is to retain his position and eat the pill, then fake sleep, after, like what Misaki had considered, alert the Yunhua Lotus Group about the situation. 

… Not a bad idea now that I think about it. I could seize this opportunity to end this child game, Xero thought. 

But just as he was stretching his hand to take the pill, he could clearly hear what Misaki was thinking in her heart: Good… as long as Classmate Zhang is safe… as long as he can walk out of here alive, I'll be satisfied.

And eventually he instantly destroyed and seized the guns. 

Looks like the quality wasn't that fake after all. I think they could've bought this on Amazon… Xero thought, his expression indifferent. 

Relying on this piece of sh*t to pierce, even faze his divine godly body? That was just too naïve. 

"You… little brat!—"

The two Shadow Emblem assassins were too slow to even react.

A ringing crack filled their ears, as their pupils constricted sharply! 

They sweated profusely as they took in the scene before them. 

Xero had actually directly smashed the guns with just a faint touch of his hand! 

Picked up by the light wind, the pieces wear reduced to plain dust as they were swept away from Xero's hand…

"What the hell…" The two men in black stared wide-eyed. That gun had been made of f*cking Ninth Coal! The hardest material on Earth today!

"Your majesty, who are you?" The faces of the two Shadow Emblem assassins betrayed their terror.

Without saying a word, Xero just grabbed their heads with each hand.

After all, even if they died, they wouldn't admit who their client was. 

"…What do you want from us?"

"Nothing, I'm just sending you two to hell." Xero responded in their minds. He lifted them with each hand, it was as if he was pulling two feathers. 

Imitating the Yang clansmen on the high platform, in a blink of an eye, Xero reduced them to elemental particles, and then slowly warped them into a energy orb that was identical to a Lotus Fire Flower, with a burst of light, sent them thousands of li into the beautiful night sky.

A moment later, this "Godly Buddha Divine Lotus" exploded into the sky alongside majestic fireworks. 

Beautiful sparks which dazzled the eye scattered across different directions, then gradually drifted downwards, turning to sky dust that faded. 

Xero quietly watched the fireworks fade and clapped his hand free of dust. It looked like the true, full extent and use of the legendary lost skill of the Yang clan, "Godly Buddha Divine Lotus" wasn't as difficult to perform than he had imagined.

When Xero had tossed the energy orb into the air, he had extracted all of the assassins memories in passing. Later that night, he created an image of the information and sent it anonymously to the Yunhua Lotus Group business account. 

And then, Xero spent his entire weekend carefully removing any traces that involved him.
