The Alpha's Stripper Mate: Sold To Be His.

Chapter 15: 15

NYLAH

I didn't know whether to rejoice or feel bad about the information I'd been given. I felt happy and sad at the same time.

The thought of not being useful to the Alpha anymore, the thought of not having him look at me with those lustful eyes anymore made it sting but on the bright side, it meant that I was no longer going to be answerable to him, I could push for him to let me go since he had no use of me.

Despite the weight of the news, I decided not to let it show.

"The... guard said you will show me around," I said, changing the topic and ready to get settled.

With a scoff, she turned around and bellowed with her fingers above her right shoulder to follow her and I did, dragging my luggage with me.

'How thoughtful of her not to help with even one luggage' I thought but pushed the thought off and focused on the elaborate building she led me into.

It was a two-story mansion filled with numerous rooms with tiny windows.

She stopped before one of the doors on the second story and gestured with her face for me to get in.

The room was portable... My room at the previous mansion was more spacious and luxurious but the lighting and decoration of the current room were impressive, I couldn't complain. It also had a decent-sized bed, for one.

"Drop your bags, we need to get back." Her rather impatient voice put an abrupt stop to my mental processing and comparison of the room.

"Okay," I replied and walked out.

We got back out and it was as though we were in a different place.

The once empty, spacious land was now filled with pack members roaming around, to and fro, some setting up poles and lights while some set chairs and tables.

With a confused expression on my face, I turned to Sofia.

"What's going on?"

"It's the pack's bonfire night tonight, it's not supposed to be something serious except that the Alpha would be bringing his intended mate from her pack today." She sounded distressed as she finished her last words and I could tell that she was affected by the Alpha bringing a mate.

I would've asked why but I thought it wise and courteous to keep my thoughts to myself so I swallowed my words.

"Hi, Sofy." A soft and sassy-like voice called from behind and I caught Sofia rolling her eyes before turning to meet the source of the call.

"Hii Lily..." Sofia replied just with the same amount of sassiness.

"I see you've been given another newbie a tour of the pack." Lily started, darting her eyes to me and back to Sofia.

"Meanwhile, I'm going to be taking care of the future Luna of this pack. I told you that this is all you can ever be; a tour girl." Sofia's eyes lit up with anger but she didn't say a word which was unlikely for the sassy Sofia I'd known for a couple minutes.

"And she seems dumb too," Lily turned to me again with a mocking smile plastered across her face. "I guess that's two-zero."

Still, without a word from Sofia, Lily's face expressed how victorious she felt like she'd won in life.

"I better run along, I have much work to take care of. More serious work." And with those words, she sashayed away.

"Who was she?" I asked, still trying to process the conversation.

"So now you can talk?" Sofia hissed and walked away, leaving me with no other option than to follow behind her.

After showing me to a few places like the packed kitchen where we met a middle-aged female who was in charge of the kitchen, I was more positive about staying at the pack than I was when I decided to come.

'It might not be bad after all, I'll settle in soon enough' I assured myself with a smile that irked Sofia.

"Eww, your face is horrible when you smile." She said, shifting her body from me with irritation written all over her face.

"Go get ready for the bonfire. It starts at six. You can be late if you want, nothing serious happens until eight. That's when the Alpha comes." I nodded and watched as she walked away with her shoulders squared and her head held up high.

She disappeared in the crowd soon and I turned to look at the buildings one more time, I must've forgotten which one I was led into with all the buildings looking identical, it was hard to tell their difference and as I scanned the buildings, my eyes fell on a female trio, with Lily leading the crew, they marched towards me with mischievous smiles on their faces.

My stomach turned at their sight and I quickly turned around and tried to walk away but one of the girls was quick enough to pull me back.

"Not so fast newbie, I heard you're dumb, don't prove Lily wrong now." I hated the mocking smile on her face and even hated the way she spoke to me more.

Without replying to her or trying to prove a point, I turned around and walked to one of the buildings that turned out to be the one Sofia took me to.

And just like Sofia advised, the party didn't start off fully until eight and after each activity, I was convinced that most attendees were there because of the Alpha and they were more females, but what could one expect from a 'perfect Alpha like Xavier?

I tried to find him through the crowd but it was a thick crowd, a full pack and he was in the middle of the crowd, probably with his intended mate, introducing her to his pack.

It stung a little knowing that he didn't come to welcome me or acknowledge my arrival because he went to pick her up.

Tired from minutes of straining my neck in search of him, or Sofia, I thought to find a seat and take a breath of fresh air, away from the thickness of the crowd but I bumped into someone familiar as soon as I turned.

One of the ladies from the trio who confronted me earlier and she had the same smile on her face as she did earlier the mischievous smile.

"Oh, it's the dumb newbie, you look lost. Maybe this will wake you up." And with those words, she turned the contents of the cup in her hand over my head, making me wet from my head to my waist.

For a moment, I thought I was in a trance, I thought I saw wrong. Maybe she was handing me the cup instead of pouring the content over me but looking down at my dress, I knew it was no entrance, that she'd just ruined my dress and shattered my confidence.

Slowly, the crowd that seemed oblivious of what was going on behind them turned to me and I could hear the side talks and the sneers. I felt defeated, like a show thing people could entertain themselves with.

I was done, all I wanted to do was run back to my room and hide from everyone and everything that night but as I made to leave, I saw him.

I saw Xavier, walking towards me, the largely distracted crowd drew his attention to where I stood.

He stopped in his tracks when he saw me, drenched with alcohol that had a pungent smell
