The Backbender (Avatar: The Last Airbender)

"Wow! This fish tastes like heaven!" Kanuk let out a gasp as he tasted a piece of cooked fish. The water tribe survives on fish, so they know how to cook the fish.

"Why, thank you, dear. I tried my best for today." Gran Kanna smiled as she watched Kanuk, Katara and Sokka eating. Her eyes wandered to Katara, who was looking at Kanuk with a light in her eyes that she knew all too well.

 "Katara, Kanuk. I want to talk to you. Please listen to this old woman." Kanuk and Katara looked up, food still in their hands. Seeing the serious look on Gran's face, they stopped.

"What is it, Grandma?" Katara asked with worry. Kanuk put his food down, listening with a serious face. Sokka looked at Gran with confusion. What was she gonna say?

"Listen, Katara and Kanuk. I see how you two look at each other, and I want to ask you two. Do you love each other?" Silence filled the tent as Katara started blushing. Kanuk smiled as he saw this as a chance.

"Gran Kanna. Me and Katara are already together." Katara looked down at the floor with a blush. She still remembered the morning when Kanuk asked her to become his.

Gran smiled with relief. Sokka felt his jaw hang open large enough to fit a plate inside. He looked at Katara and Kanuk and finally realised why they were so close on the boat.

"I am glad. I want to bless you two. May the spirits bless and guide you both down the right path." Katara smiled as she looked at Kanuk. She felt her heart race with heat. She wanted to hug and embrace Kanuk right then and there.

As Kanuk was thinking, he suddenly got a notification from the system. He looked at the quest, and he smiled.

[First quest!]

[Propose to Katara.]

[Reward: A silver ring that enhances learning speed and ability.]

'A ring that enhances learning speed! Could I use that to gain exp faster?... No, I should give this to Katara. I already have a system.' Kanuk shook his head with a smile. Is there anything more overpowered than having a system? He does not need that ring.

Kanuk got on his knee in front of Katara. Kanuk reached into his pocket and took out the ring the system gave him. Katara felt her face heat up as she looked at Kanuk on his knee.

"Katara, I know I already asked, but now I want to ask you officially. Will you be mine?" Kanuk smiled as he got on one knee in front of Katara. In his hand were a silver ring with his name on the outside and Katara's name written on the inside.

Gran and Sokka watched with a smile as Katara and Kanuk stared at each other. With a huge gasp, Katara jumped and embraced Kanuk, burying her face in his neck.

"Yes, yes, yes, yes and Yes!" Kanuk smiled as he gently held Katara's hand in his palm. Taking the ring, he gently slid it onto her ring finger. Katara watched with a huge smile on her face.

Katara and Kanukd embraced each other, and the night passed with the four of them eating and drinking. Once they were done, they did the tradition of the tribe.

Katara and Kanuk are now wife and husband. They have to sleep in the same house and room. Of course, they did not do anything other than sleep with each other.

[Next day.]

Opening her eyes, Katara smiled as she placed her palm gently on Kanuk's sleeping face. She leaned in and planted a kiss on his lips. She blushed as she noticed Kanuk looking at her.

"I want to wake up like this every day." Katara smiled as Kanuk brought her closer to his embrace, pushing her body closer to his own. Standing up, Kanuk stood up.

"What you say we go and train our water bending?" Katara jumped up with a smile and immediately put her clothes on. Kanuk smiled as she watched how eager she was.

The two of them ate food for energy for training. The two then went out a little further away from the village. Kanuk carried his spear since they could be attacked by some wild animals.

Once they reached a good enough place, they stared at each other before Katara started teaching Kanuk.

"First of all, feel a cool sensation inside your stomach, and then use that sensation to guide it through your body," Katara explained while showing some movement with her hand.

Katara made the motion of push and pull, the water from the ocean surging before a ball of water lifted up from the ocean. Katara watched with surprise.

'This usually takes more time and is more taxing on me...Why is it easier?' Thinking she was just better today, Katara let it go to the back of her mind since it's not like it's bad.

Kanuk closed his eyes. He has more knowledge than Katara since he watched some of the avatar shows. Chi is from the stomach and then goes through a series of pathways, like the chakra from Naruto.

"Just keep trying. It takes time to feel that sensation." Katara advised as she started doing her own training. Kanuk sat down on the ground and started concentrating.

In his last life, there was no such thing as chi in the body, so sensing the chi in this body was much easier than someone from this world sensing chi.

'I can feel it faintly... It feels cool and comfortable, probably because I only have water bending. I wonder if it is hot for fire bending?' Kanuk concentrated on moving the chi into his pathways.

Kanuk felt a smirk make its way onto his face as he started sensing his chi better. The chi inside his stomach moved for a few seconds before going back to its shape.

'It's harder than I thought... I wonder if I can use chi the way that Chakra functions?' Ideas entered Kanuk's head. Could he walk on water if he masters Chi control?

Just a minute after trying to control his Chi. The experience gained was already good. There was no noticeable difference in his sense and control, but it was getting there.

Time passed with Katara training and with Kanuk sitting there trying to level his sense and control up. One hour later, Kanuk opened his eyes with a smile on his face.

Kanuk instantly felt the difference between level 1 and level 2. The Chi sense now allowed him to sense his chi 50% clearer compared to before, and his control was at least 50% better.

'I gained Chi? Is a hundred Chi good or bad? I don't know.' Kanuk was concerned about seeing the amount of Chi he had since he did not have a way to compare how much 100 Chi was.

[100 Is about twice the amount a normal bender has at birth.]

"Twice, huh? Not too shabby." Kanuk smiled upon hearing this. He knew that he could increase Chi by training, so he was not worried about having a small amount of Chi.

"Kanuk, I am kind of tired, wanna go back home?" Katara dropped the ball of water that was noticeably larger than what she normally trains with and turned to Kanuk with sweat on her face.

"Katara, if you are tired, you should go home. I don't want you to get sick after all." Kanuk stood up, and he embraced Katara in his arms. With a sigh of tiredness, Katara nodded.

"You are right. See you at home." Kanuk smiled as he kissed Katara, he released her and watched as she walked towards the tribe. Once she was gone, Kanuk walked towards the water.

"let's start the real training~"
