Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Attacked.
"This is harder than it looks." Knauk struggled to lift a ball of water the size of his fist. The water was lifted up, but it was unstable as it looked like it could fall apart in seconds.
Splash!
The water ball burst apart, sending the water onto the icy ground, freezing into more ice in seconds. With a frustrated sigh, Kanuk tried again.
[Water bending Lv.2 [0-> 34/200]
It had been a few minutes since Katara left. Leaving Kanuk to train alone by himself. The water bending has levelled up a single time, and the difference was not huge.
Before Kanuk levelled up water bending, he could lift about a pound of water. At level 2, he could lift about 3 kg of water, although it was not as stable as he would like.
"No matter. I will have to keep at it until I level up more." Kanuk did not let the small improvement deter him from his training. The progress he sees each time he tries makes him want to keep going.
An hour later, a tired Kanuk drops to his knees, breathing and panting as he feels his hands shake. His Chi was at an all-time low, with barely 10 points of chi remaining.
"Phew! I am tired. I should eat to refill my energy?" Kanuk wiped the sweat that formed on his brows from his training. He crawled to his spear and bag and opened the bag to reveal fish.
Taking the fish out, Kanuk wasted no time filling his stomach with the food. After an hour of training, he managed to increase his Water Bending to level 5.
Level 5 may seem small, but Kanuk can now lift at least 24 kg amount of water, and it is not as hard as it was in the beginning. It still takes concentration, but he can move it.
With a lesser amount of Water, Kanuk could move it easily. He could even use some less water in combat situations. With his Water bending at level 5 he can now manipulate Water.
With less water, Kanuk could move it easily. He could even use less Water in combat situations. With his Water bending skill at level 5, he can now manipulate Water effectively.
A mile away from where Kanuk is resting, a huge creature that can easily eclipse a car scrunched its nose up as it lay on the cold snowy ground.
It growled as he looked in Kanuk's direction.
"Growl!!" The massive polar bear creature stood up, its weight shaking the ground under its clawed paws. With narrowed eyes, it started walking towards Kanuk. Despite its large stature, it barely made noise.
Back with Kanuk, he just finished eating the food in his bag. Standing up, he stretched with a comfortable sigh as he popped his joints. He smiled as he was about to get back to his training.
Thud*
"Hmm? I can hear something... But it is hiding very well." Kanuk stopped what he was doing as he heard a sound that was similar to a padded punch into a pillow.
His eyes looked around, but without being able to copy anything that could enhance his eyesight, he was just like any human. The white surroundings could hide things.
Kanuk stomped on the spear in the ground, and it sprung into his palm. Kanuk put his bag onto his back. Kanuk walked towards the ocean to make himself look small.
Leaning down, he pretended to let his guard down. The giant bear saw this as a sign of weakness, and it drooled with an excited look in its eyes at the opportunity.
With the swiftness of a wolf, the bear ran towards Kanuk, its paws making such little noise that a normal human would not be able to hear it until it was too late.
Kanuk listened to the sound. Kanuk judged the distance between him and the animal based on sounds the the animal made while running. It was about 15 meters away from him.
Kanuk waited with his heart racing at a million miles per hour. The bear kept getting closer and closer to him.
10 meters...
7 meters...
5 meters...
3 meters...
"Now!" Kanuk rolled to the left, his enhanced legs gave his jump extra power, just throwing him out of the range of the bear's bite. The bear growled in anger as its momentum carried him into the ocean.
"Shit, you are a big back!" Kanuk started sweating at seeing how big the bear was. It fell into the water, causing a huge splash that made Kanuk wet.
'It is in the water now is my biggest chance! I have to injure him seriously or when he comes out, I am cooked!' Gripping his spear with all his strength. Kanuk acted.
Swoosh!
The spear blurred as Kanuk threw it with all his strength towards the Ice Stalker that had already climbed onto the ice. The Bear looked at the spear and growled as he could not dodge it with his massive body.
Squelch!
"ARGHH!!!" Kanuk jumped back, making a distance of 4 meters with the jump. The Ice Stalker rolled around the ice, smashing it into pieces with its massive strength.
The spear went into its chest. It was lodged deep in his chest, with blood spurting and melting the snow around its huge body. The Ice Stalker growled as it stood on four again.
Kanuk and the Ice Stalker locked eyes, one driven by survival and the other consumed by hatred and madness. With a powerful charge, the Bear made a thunderous roar that vibrated through the air.
Boom!
Under the Ice Stalker's paws, the ice was crushed. Its speed is fast for a huge bear its size. With the speed of the fastest human, the bear charged at Kanuk, intending to crush him into pieces.
Too bad he was against something that was beyond him.
Swoosh!
Using his enhanced legs, Kanuk jumped to the side and ran towards the water at full speed. The bear turned around and followed after him, not caring about anything else.
With a jump, Kanuk fell into the ice-cold. The bear followed him like he was food, jumping straight at Kanuk. Using water Bending, Kanuk dodged out from under the Ice Stalker.
'It's now on my turf, I have underwater breathing, so I am good. But the cold will kill me if I stay more than 5 minutes in the water.' The bear locked its eyes on Kanuk.
It flapped its paws, swimming towards him at a surprising speed. Kanuk dodged to the side before using the water around him to tie the bear's legs and hands.
"Growwl!" The Bear struggled for a second before breaking the water around his hands and legs into splashes. Kanuk groaned in frustration at seeing his strongest hold be so easily broken.
'This bear is at least 5 times stronger than a normal bear in my world!' Kanuk dodged another charge from the bear, but not without its claw finding his arm.
"Argh!" Kanuk felt his eyes open wide as on the side of his arm, a gash that was not dangerous but would definitely leave a scar was made. His blood leaked out into the water.
'Shit! My blood might attract water predators! I need to finish this quick!' Kanuk grabbed his wound before barely managing to dodge the charge from the bear.
'How!...' Kanuk looked around for anything, but with his Water bending still so weak, he was not able to do anything useful with it. Until his eyes landed on the spear lodged in its chest.
'That's it! I can kill it with the spear!'
