The following morning, Julian arrived at Blackwood Enterprises, fully prepared to confront the board. But as soon as he stepped into his office, Claire burst in, her face tense with worry.

"You're not going to like this," she said, handing him a fresh news report.

Julian scanned the headline:

"Blackwood Enterprises Under Federal Investigation CEO Julian Blackwood Implicated"

His heart pounded. This wasn't just a smear campaign Marcus had escalated things to a criminal level.

"How did this happen?" Julian demanded, his voice low and furious.

Claire shook her head. "Someone leaked falsified documents directly to federal investigators. If they open a full investigation, you could lose everything even if you're innocent."

Julian's hands curled into fists. Marcus wasn't just trying to take the company he wanted to destroy Julian entirely.

At her apartment, Emily sifted through the last files from the USB drive, frustration building. She needed hard evidence connecting Marcus to the illegal activities but the encrypted files weren't yielding answers quickly enough.

Emily grabbed her phone and called David Wu, the former insider. "Do you know anything about Bryce Holden?"

David hesitated. "He's the one who handles all of Marcus's dirty work. If you're going after him… be careful. People who cross Marcus don't usually walk away unscathed."

Fear twisted in her gut, but she pushed it down. If Bryce could tie Marcus to the fraud, she had to find him.

That evening, Julian stormed into Marcus's sleek, minimalist office without knocking. Marcus, seated behind his polished mahogany desk, smiled like he'd been expecting him.

"You're getting desperate, Julian," Marcus said, leaning back in his chair. "The board's already doubting you this investigation will be the final nail in your coffin."

Julian's voice was dangerously calm. "You crossed the line, Marcus. I know what you're doing, and I will destroy you for it."

Marcus laughed softly. "Big words from a man about to lose everything. Face it you're not the untouchable Julian Blackwood anymore."

For a moment, they locked eyes two powerful men in a battle where only one would survive.

"You should've never betrayed me," Julian warned before turning on his heel.

As he left, Marcus's smile faded. He knew Julian wasn't finished and the real fight was just beginning.

Back at Julian's penthouse, Emily updated him on her findings.

"I'm close," she said. "If I can track down Bryce Holden, I can prove Marcus is behind everything."

Julian stepped closer, his voice filled with resolve. "Whatever it takes, Emily. We're in this together."
