The Curse of Time (Harry Potter Fanfic)

Chapter 111: Hufflepuff VS Gryffindor

It was very amusing to see the students waking up, confused about where they were. They looked completely lost until the teachers approached them to instruct them to return to their common rooms.

At 7:30, we had to wake up the rest of the students because they had to leave anyway so that we could set up the tables for breakfast.

Classes started later than usual since the teachers needed time to prepare and get some rest.

Our first class of the day was with Professor Lupin.

"How can you be so energetic after a sleepless night?"

"I've been living without sleep and suffering mental damage for five months to adapt."

This is one of the advantages of parallel thinking—some parts of the mind can rest while others continue working.

The number of sleepless nights I've had has already exceeded 100, but it's mostly because I never really paid attention to the time.

Professor Lupin is an excellent teacher; he balances theory and practice effortlessly and always tries to make the lessons as engaging as possible.

Neville loves him because, unlike Professor Snape or the others, he encourages his students and helps build their confidence, which is why Neville feels more at ease in his class.

This is the first time he has succeeded in a subject that requires practical skills, apart from Herbology.

I know he has greater magical talent than I do, but the expectations placed on him by our family—and the talents that Dad, Mom, and I possess, even if mine are more intellectual—have shattered his confidence.

Of course, I have read all the books, so I know that the rest of the year will be just as captivating because he is a teacher who can be compared to a certain professor who is now slowly rotting away in Azkaban.

The school days resumed their usual rhythm, and it was finally time for Hufflepuff's match against Gryffindor.

Most of the girls were cheering for Cedric Diggory, a very kind and handsome young man, though I personally have no attraction to him.

On the other hand, Cho doesn't just admire him—she truly loves him, as they have been childhood friends.

"Do you have the game plans, Evelyn?"

"It's very difficult because the weather is terrible, so the real challenge is understanding what's happening."

The weather was so rainy that even a car wouldn't be able to drive through it due to the poor visibility.

Luna, as usual, was dressed eccentrically, wearing a lion's head, because her two friends, Neville and Ginny, are in Gryffindor.

"I hope everything will be fine."

"We can't be sure of that, Ginny. The match could last a long time, because seeing the Golden Snitch will be extremely difficult, and on top of that, Harry is at a disadvantage. With his small frame, he could be blown away by the strong wind."

I don't understand why they change the teams who will compete, but don't postpone the match due to the extreme weather conditions.

Additionally, the rain was so loud that we could barely hear Lee Jordan.

Harry's shadow could be seen flying over the completely lost field, as if he were blind.

"Hermione, when the time-out is called, and it definitely will be, put the Impervius charm on Harry's glasses because he can't see anything."

And as expected, two minutes later, the break was called.

Hermione returned later, announcing that she had successfully cast the charm on Harry's glasses.

"That's good news, now the game can really begin."

Gryffindor was leading for now, but that didn't mean much.

Suddenly, I heard the ticking of a clock.

At the same time, I felt a drop in temperature.

Harry and Cedric started to race toward each other as the Golden Snitch was spotted, but they weren't alone.

"Damn it, Expecto Patronum!"

My mini-dragon Patronus rushed toward the Dementors.

Marie joined my attack shortly after, and I was shocked because it felt like a real Patronus.

This Patronus reminded me of the big sister of the dream, and she looked like a real person, not just a Patronus.
