Chapter 187: Unbreakable Vow
Lynn chuckled quietly and said calmly, "But with your current strength, even killing a werewolf might be difficult. What confidence do you have to face Voldemort?"
At this, Irwin's expression darkened for a moment, but soon, his black eyes began to shine again.
"I will work hard to improve my magical abilities. Maybe I won't be as powerful as you, but I will never be a burden to you!" Irwin said.
Lynn chuckled again and said, "However, what some people can achieve in their entire life is just the other side of what others can reach with a simple wave of their hand. But a wizard's magical level doesn't represent everything about them. Irwin, what if I can make you stronger?"
Upon hearing Lynn's words, Irwin was stunned.
Irwin asked, "Lynn, what do you mean?"
Lynn smiled and said, "You know, I studied with Wallison Green, and I am an alchemist. Maybe you don't know this yet, but I learned the method of refining the finished work of the master, the Anti-Magic Stone, last year."
Irwin exclaimed, "The Anti-Magic Stone?! Then couldn't you use the power of that magical artifact to suppress the Dark Lord's magical power?"
Lynn smiled and said, "That's nothing. The Anti-Magic Stone is just one part of grand alchemy. Do you know that the equipment I refined with my own hands can grant a Squib a combat ability comparable to an elite Auror's in a short period of time?"
Irwin's astonishment was beyond words. He couldn't imagine what kind of magical item could give a Squib—someone who couldn't even perform magic—the combat power of an elite Auror.
After all, an elite Auror can take on hundreds of ordinary wizards!
"Then, what do I have to offer? I know nothing comes without a reason."
Irwin wasn't dazzled by the surprise in front of him; he said calmly.
Seeing this, Lynn nodded in satisfaction.
Over the past three years of study, Lynn had observed this young wizard, his classmate in Potions and other classes. Whether in magical level or talent, he could say that Irwin was among the best among the young wizards of their grade.
Moreover, his hard work and character were enough to take on great responsibility. Additionally, in their conversation, Irwin had expressed his determination to fight against Voldemort, which made Lynn finally choose him.
Lynn's voice softened, and he said, "I need you to be my companion, my comrade. Fight side by side with us in the future. Never give up, never betray."
Lynn knew that it was impossible for him and Irina—two reincarnators—to resist the power of the large number of Death Eaters and pure-blood families who sided with Voldemort's pure-blood ideology.
Even if he and Irina had magical levels comparable to Dumbledore, it would still be impossible because what they wanted was to defeat Voldemort, not to destroy the wizarding world.
After all, with the power behind those pure-blood families, it was possible not only to completely destroy the wizarding world but also to set it back hundreds of years in a desperate situation.
Therefore, he needed to gain more allies, preferably pure-blood families who were willing to resist Voldemort. Only by using pure-bloods to fight against pure-bloods could the massive energy behind both sides maintain a delicate balance, preventing the entire wizarding world from being buried with Voldemort.
Winning over the majority, leaving a very small minority, and defeating Voldemort's power with the strength of the masses was the best solution for the wizarding world.
After hearing that Lynn wanted to win him over, Irwin agreed without hesitation.
Irwin believed that Lynn, who had once defeated the lingering soul of Voldemort face to face, would definitely be able to lead the wizards to victory in the future.
As for the child savior, Harry Potter, let him enjoy the fame of that useless name.
"Yes, Lynn!" Irwin said solemnly.
Lynn set aside his cynical smile, looked at Irwin with serious eyes, and said calmly, "Do you dare to make an Unbreakable Vow with me?"
Irwin chuckled and said, "Why wouldn't I dare?"
Lynn said, "Alright. But the Unbreakable Vow requires witnesses. Come find me under the Whomping Willow after curfew tonight. I believe you have a way to sneak out of the castle after curfew."
Irwin nodded slightly and said, "Of course."
If he couldn't sneak out of Hogwarts Castle after curfew, then there was no point in talking about going up against You-Know-Who.
In the blink of an eye, curfew arrived.
After guessing that curfew had started, Irwin Foley, who had been lying in his bed in the Slytherin dormitory with his eyes closed and dozing, suddenly opened his eyes.
He turned over and landed on the floor. After looking around to make sure all of his roommates were asleep, he drew his wand and lightly tapped his head.
It was as if a stream of icy liquid flowed from the top of his head, and his figure disappeared in place.
This was the Disillusionment Charm.
The door to the dormitory opened silently and then closed just as quietly.
Ten minutes later, outside Hogwarts Castle, under the Whomping Willow.
Lynn and Irina were waiting there. Lynn had already told Irina about his plan to win over his comrades and to make the Unbreakable Vow with Irwin.
Irina had also happily agreed to witness Lynn and Irwin's Unbreakable Vows.
"I'm coming, Lynn."
Irwin dispelled the Disillusionment Charm he had cast on himself and spoke to Lynn, who was standing by the Whomping Willow. He was a bit curious as to why, despite being clearly within the Whomping Willow's attack range, the tree was acting like an ordinary willow, without any intention of attacking.
Lynn took a step forward and grabbed Irwin's hand.
Irina also approached and nodded, her wand pointing at the hands held by Lynn and Irwin.
From the fourth-floor books of Rowle Castle, Irina had learned not only dark magic but also more difficult contract magic and defensive magic.
The Unbreakable Vow was just one of them.
"Irwin Foley, after Voldemort is resurrected in the future, are you willing to raise the banner of resistance and stand forever on the opposite side of Voldemort?"
Lynn looked calmly into Irwin's eyes and asked.
Irwin nodded and said, "Yes, I do."
A thin, dazzling tongue of fire shot out from Irina's wand, like a red-hot metal wire, wrapping around the hands held by Lynn and Irwin.
Lynn continued, "Irwin Foley, are you willing to be our comrade forever, no matter how the situation changes, and never give up or betray us?"
