The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 188: The contract is done, and those who break their promises shall die!

Upon hearing Lynn's question, Irwin's eyes shifted slightly.

You must understand that when Lynn said, "no matter how the situation changes," he was not only referring to the changes in the battle's circumstances, but also to possible changes in Lynn's own position.

In other words, if Irwin accepted Lynn's request, even if Lynn were to become the third Dark Lord in the future and be the enemy of the entire magical world, Irwin would still have to follow him and be his eternal comrade!

Otherwise, once the Unbreakable Vow was broken, the only outcome would be death!

"Yes."

Irwin said softly. After thinking through countless possibilities, he still decided to trust Lynn.

In other words, he chose to believe in himself and trusted that he had not chosen the wrong person.

As soon as Irwin spoke, a second tongue of fire shot from the tip of Irina's wand, intertwining with the first one, forming a fine chain glowing with a red-golden light.

Lynn then asked, "Irwin Foley, are you willing to do everything in your power to improve your strength and dedicate it all to possible future wars?"

Irwin answered, "Yes, I do."

Beneath the Whomping Willow, the faces of the three were illuminated by the third tongue of fire. The dazzling fire erupted from Irina's wand and intertwined with the previous two flames, binding Lynn and Irwin tightly. The two hands they held were now like ropes, coiled together like a serpent spitting fire!

"The contract is made, and anyone who breaks their promise will die!" Lynn said, releasing Irwin's hand.

After the two men let go of their hands, faint red-golden lines still flickered on their wrists.

Under normal circumstances, these red-golden lines would not reappear unless someone broke the Unbreakable Vow. When that happened, these lines would turn into chains that could threaten the life of the vow-breaker!

"Come with us, we have somewhere to take you."

Lynn said to Irwin as he crawled through a hole beside the Whomping Willow.

Upon seeing this, Irwin discovered the entrance to the secret passage next to the tree.

After watching Irina follow Lynn through the secret passage, Irwin entered without hesitation.

After passing through a long secret corridor, the three arrived at the Shrieking Shack.

"This is... the Shrieking Shack?"

Apparently, Irwin wasn't unfamiliar with the Shrieking Shack. He had visited the place during a trip to Hogsmeade and found that the Shrieking Shack wasn't as haunted as people claimed.

Lynn nodded. He looked at the claw marks on the surrounding walls and asked, "What can you tell me about the Shrieking Shack?"

Irwin hesitated and said, "If I guess correctly, all these claw marks should have come from a werewolf. And the Shrieking Shack is connected to Hogwarts... Wait, Lynn, are you saying that this werewolf is at Hogwarts? But... this shack must have been built decades ago..."

Irwin seemed incredulous.

Lynn replied, "Maybe it was left here on a full moon night by a werewolf who studied at Hogwarts many years ago. Let me remind you, that werewolf is still at Hogwarts today. In the castle."

Irwin was even more stunned.

That werewolf was still in Hogwarts Castle?!

How is that possible? Obviously, the Shrieking Shack hasn't been haunted for over ten years!

If the werewolf was still in Hogwarts, how has he been spending the full moons for over ten years?

Unless the werewolf left the castle over ten years ago and has only recently returned!

Irwin seemed to realize something. He thought of the ragged and pale Professor Lupin. His pupils dilated: "Lynn, are you talking about Professor Lupin?"

At that moment, Irina stepped forward and smiled, saying, "Yes, but don't worry, Professor Lupin is a good person. During the time when Voldemort was in power, he was a member of the Order of the Phoenix founded by Dumbledore. He and we are on the same team."

After hearing Irina's words, Irwin calmed down.

"But how do you know about the Order of the Phoenix?"

Irwin asked, confused.

Everyone from that time knew that Dumbledore had founded the Order of the Phoenix when Voldemort was active, but no one from this generation of young wizards knew about an organization called the Order of the Phoenix.

The reason was that the Order of the Phoenix had kept a low profile from the beginning, and after Voldemort's fall, Dumbledore immediately disbanded it.

The reason Irwin had the luck to learn about the Order of the Phoenix was that he saw it in the Pensieve.

Lynn calmly said, "My father was a member of the Order of the Phoenix, but unfortunately, he was killed by Voldemort."

Upon hearing this, Irwin was stunned and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't know..."

Lynn gestured with his hand, interrupting him, and said, "It's fine. We didn't bring you here to talk about these things. Now that you've joined us, you are our comrade and partner. I think I need to give you some self-defense items."

Irwin's eyes lit up as he looked expectantly at Lynn.

Lynn pulled out five items from the stretchable bag and placed them on the table in front of Irwin.

"These are alchemical contact lenses, based on Muggle contact lens technology. After using these alchemical contact lenses, you will be immune to most dark magic cast by looking at them, including direct death magic from a basilisk and petrification magic!"

Lynn opened a small wooden box and revealed two small pieces of glass inside.

"Wow," Irwin put on the alchemical contact lenses and was surprised by the magical wave emanating from them. "Did you and Miss Lowell use these alchemical products to kill the basilisk last year?"

Irina smiled and said, "That's right. Also, call me Irina from now on."

Lynn continued presenting: "These three are the alchemical pendant, alchemical ring, and alchemical bracelet. They all play a role in resisting offensive magic. If the magic is weak, they can even make you immune to it! Additionally, they offer some resistance to dark magic that affects the soul, like the Cruciatus Curse, and reduce its damage to the host soul."

Irwin put on the three alchemical products in awe. Alchemical products that could weaken the power of the three Unforgivable Curses were rare even in the entire magical world!

After Irwin put on the three alchemical products, Lynn smiled and placed the final item—a magical stone tied with a golden cord—into Irwin's hand, saying calmly, "And finally, the Anti-Magic Stone."
