Chapter 11: Chapter 11

After the invigilator finished explaining the basic version of the chakra extraction technique, he first allowed the children from ordinary families some time to review the method on their own.

Then—

The invigilator began assisting the candidates who had already practiced chakra, helping them revert their chakra into pure spiritual and physical energy.

This ensured one thing:

That every student would begin the exam with zero chakra in their system.

Then, according to the exam requirements—

Every candidate would have five minutes to extract as much chakra as they could within the allotted time.

Of course…

This system was far from fair, especially for children from civilian backgrounds.

After all, kids from major clans had often begun chakra training from an early age. Their familiarity and proficiency were naturally far superior.

And more importantly—

The techniques they used for chakra extraction came from high-level clan archives. Refined, efficient, and often generations ahead of anything a civilian child could learn.

There was simply no comparison.

But… that's reality.

No amount of complaining could change that.

Five minutes passed.

The examiner began scoring each student according to the amount and purity of chakra they managed to extract.

"Uchiha Sasuke, 10 points!"

"Nara Shikamaru, 8 points!"

"Hinata Hyuga, 8 points!"

"Uzumaki Naruto, 3 points!"

"Yoruha Yamanaka, 10 points!"

...

As soon as Yoruha's result was read aloud—

Uchiha Sasuke frowned slightly, his expression making it clear what he was thinking:

"How can a kid from some tiny clan score the same as me? That's impossible."

That's right.

In the eyes of the Uchiha—

Every other family in Konoha was a minor clan.

There were no exceptions.

"Big brother!!"

Yamanaka Ino stomped over to Yoruha with a pout on her lips, scolding him in a half-whiny voice:

"Your health's been cured for a while now, and you didn't tell me? Do you even think of me as your sister anymore?! Was I adopted or something?!"

Seeing her sulking face, Yoruha smiled gently and patted her little head.

"I honestly just found out today. Maybe it's fate giving me a second chance. Anyway, let's focus on the next exam."

He didn't bother to explain further.

Because the more you explain, the more suspicious it sounds.

Sometimes it's better to just act clueless.

After all, he was still "just a kid" who supposedly didn't understand anything. The adults would come up with their own conclusions.

After speaking, Yoruha turned and walked calmly toward the next testing area.

Ino stared at her brother's back, blinking a few times as if something clicked in her mind. She fell deep into thought.

Right.

When Dad was teaching her chakra extraction, he'd told her specifically not to pass it on to Yoruha—not without permission.

But judging by what she saw today—

Her brother must be a genius.

He just hadn't been discovered before!

With that thought, Ino couldn't help but grin proudly to herself.

Of course!

How could her brother—Yamanaka Ino's brother—be a loser?

Just then, Haruno Sakura came over.

She walked beside Ino and whispered softly into her ear:

"Ino… your brother is so cool. And handsome too. You're so lucky."

Ino immediately turned and looked Sakura up and down. Her eyes were full of warning.

"Hey, hey, Sakura. That's my brother you're talking about. Hands off. Besides, let me tell you—my brother might already have someone he likes!"

She leaned closer and whispered the last sentence like a secret.

Then, she sneakily glanced in Hinata's direction.

Sakura followed her gaze…

Her expression shifted as she gave a knowing nod.

"Ohhh… so it's Hinata-chan…"

Hyuga and Yamanaka… that pairing actually made a lot of sense.

A noble family on both sides. Properly matched.

Sakura lowered her eyes, quietly sighing.

"It really is tough for us girls from ordinary homes…"
