Chapter 12: Chapter 12
The second exam began.
This round tested the candidates' proficiency with throwing weapons.
Needless to say…
It was yet another disadvantage for civilian children.
Because let's be honest—
Throwing tools aren't cheap.
And during training, they break a lot.
What ordinary family would be willing to let their child burn through equipment just to practice?
So naturally…
There was already a built-in gap between civilian kids and the so-called "RMB players" — children from wealthy or prestigious clans.
The first to take the stage was Uchiha Sasuke.
"Sasuke-kun, please choose the throwing weapon you'd like to demonstrate," the proctor said with a polite smile.
Sasuke stepped forward confidently, his expression full of cool arrogance.
"As a member of the Uchiha clan, of course I'll choose the shuriken," he said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
As he spoke, Sasuke cast a glance toward Yoruha, the corners of his mouth lifting into a subtle smirk.
The message was clear:
"Watch carefully. Today, I, Uchiha Sasuke, am going to be the most handsome guy in the room."
Soon, the examiner brought over the standard target used for shuriken testing.
Just as he was about to signal the start of the exam, Sasuke suddenly raised a hand and interrupted, smirking smugly.
"Sensei, isn't this test a bit too easy? It's honestly kind of boring. Could we make it more challenging—just for me?"
He turned to the other students with faux generosity and added,
"Of course, the rest of you don't need to worry. After all, unlike the Uchiha, you weren't born with talent for throwing weapons. Just stick to the basic test."
…
Was this kid even speaking human language?
No wonder the Uchiha clan had a reputation for arrogance in the village.
The examiner's smile twitched slightly—clearly annoyed.
But in the end…
This was the son of the Uchiha clan head.
As a mere chunin, the proctor knew better than to offend someone like him.
So the test room was rearranged to Sasuke's liking.
This time—
Six targets were set up.
One directly in front.
Four hung from trees at diagonal angles—two on each side, higher up.
And the sixth target?
Hidden behind the first.
A complete blind spot. Impossible to hit with a straight throw.
Then, the test began.
Uchiha Sasuke raised an eyebrow and pulled out four shuriken, two in each hand. With practiced grace, he tossed them high into the air.
Immediately after, he jumped up in a clean arc—
And released two more shuriken midair.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Clink! Clink! Clink!
The second wave of shuriken collided midair with the first batch, altering their trajectory.
A symphony of tinkling metal filled the air.
Finally—
Five shuriken embedded cleanly into the bullseyes of five targets.
And the sixth?
It didn't hit the red center, but it did strike the hidden target in the blind spot, dead-on.
"Tch. The sixth one missed the bullseye… guess I was a little off today," Sasuke said, pretending to be disappointed while clearly basking in the praise.
Look at that smug face.
This was the proud bloodline of the Uchiha clan on full display.
Just one question: are you scared yet?
"Uchiha Sasuke… 10 points!" the examiner declared, swallowing hard.
Even he was shaken.
Big clans really were in a different league.
This kid was barely a student and already showed that kind of precision?
It was outrageous!
The surrounding candidates were stunned.
Even the examiner's voice felt heavier than usual.
A large group of girls—led by Sakura—stared at Sasuke with literal hearts in their eyes.
Sakura: "Sasuke-kun is soooo amazing!"
Inuzuka Kiba muttered through gritted teeth:
"Damn… that guy's strong. A real threat."
Uzumaki Naruto pointed at Sasuke dramatically and shouted:
"Hah! That's what I like to see! A worthy rival… so that beating you in the future will mean something!"
Akimichi Choji stood frozen, a potato chip halfway to his mouth. He didn't even realize it had slipped out of his hand.
"Ah… Shikamaru… what just happened?" he asked, eyes wide.
Shikamaru sighed, rubbing his temples.
"You saw it yourself. He controlled the strength and angle of each throw perfectly… the Uchiha really are built different."
