Chapter 16: Chapter 16

Actually—Yoruha never meant to throw shade at the Third Hokage.

After all, if Sarutobi Hiruzen were truly a villain,he wouldn't have risked his life during Orochimaru's invasion.

When it comes down to it…the real issue was Hiruzen's incompetence.

He simply wasn't capable enough to bear the weight of being Hokage.

That's why so many tragedies happened under his leadership in the Village Hidden in the Leaves.

Of course, not all the blame should fall on Sarutobi Hiruzen.

He probably had the equivalent of a grade-school education at best—completely clueless about politics, ignorant of economics, and dismissive of science.

For someone like thatto have developed Konoha Village to this point?

It was already a miracle.

It wasn't great leadership…

But it was at least hard work.

And that, in Yoruha's mind, was the highest praise he could offer the Third Hokage.

After the entrance ceremony…

Yoruha returned home with his sister.

The moment they stepped inside—

"Father, you're back!"

Ino beamed with joy, practically bouncing off the floor.

She was clearly thrilled to see their father home so early.

Yamanaka Inoichi smiled warmly, stepped forward, and patted Ino's little head. Then, turning to Yoruha with kind eyes, he said:

"I heard about your exam scores from a few friends.""So I rushed back to celebrate with you two—especially you, Yoruha.""You actually got 10 points on the chakra exam? Come on, tell me what really happened."

As a high-ranking official in Konoha,Inoichi naturally had access to detailed reports from the ninja school.

To be honest—Yoruha scoring well in taijutsu and weapon handling? That was expected.

But ten points on the chakra extraction exam?

That was unbelievable.

Was this really the same son who had long been considered unable to extract chakra?

Was there some secret behind it?

Inoichi narrowed his eyes slightly.

He hadn't even handed out any bribes yet, so this couldn't be favoritism…

Facing the curious eyes of his family,Yoruha simply gave a small shrug.

He had seen this coming a mile away.

Having lived two lifetimes now,Yoruha had never experienced the classic "cold family" trope. No betrayals, no neglect.Just a genuinely kind and loving household.

In such a family, there shouldn't be any secrets.

But…

The system was a whole other matter.

There was no way he could tell them about that.

"Honestly? I'm not sure," Yoruha said with a confused look."Maybe it's related to my training over the past few years?""Or maybe the daily medicinal baths finally kicked in?"

He kept his explanation intentionally vague—playing the role of the clueless prodigy perfectly.

Inoichi paused, then slowly nodded with a thoughtful expression.

If Yoruha had said something like this before the exams,Inoichi would've dismissed it completely.

You can't just willpower your way into changing your chakra-affecting genes.

But now?

The facts were right in front of him.

He couldn't not believe it.

So he started working it out in his head.

"Chakra is formed from stamina," Inoichi began,"which itself comes from combining the body's physical energy and one's spiritual energy."

"If you've been sticking to physical training and medicinal baths from such a young age…""Then maybe—just maybe—your spiritual energy has developed far beyond your peers.""That could explain it."

He didn't think Yoruha was hiding anything.Instead, he rationalized the situation himself—coming up with a plausible explanation on Yoruha's behalf.

After all—

Spiritual energy is a unique kind of power.

While it's mostly known for helping ninjas extract chakra, its significance goes far beyond that.

Here's a simple analogy:

Imagine two people with the exact same physical strength.Give them the same weapon.Have them train in the same combat style.

Then—put them in a life-or-death arena.

Who wins?

The one with stronger spiritual energy.

The one with greater willpower, focus, and mental clarity.

That's who survives.

As the old saying goes:

"A masterless swordsman is no better than a dog—But with enough resolve, even three thousand soldiers of Yue can crush the Kingdom of Wu."

That's the truth behind it all.
