The tall man who let Isaac in spoke, "We still need to do some checks on you, so you will be given a room separated from the others until further notice." The man spoke loud enough to be heard by everyone, most likely to soothe the nerves in the people's hearts.

The tall man started to walk deep into the village, signalling Isaac to follow. The town was encased with log walls, plant all dark in colour grew, which Isaac thought was weird since he didn't see a single tree, or plant during his journey across the dunes, so what made this place so different to where plants could grow, could it be that someone has a core power that could do that.

Isaac was in deep thought, which made the silence between him and the Tall man almost palpable. The man spoke, "My name is Mercer, I am one of the elders of this village, and I am also the main hunter of the village, so if you really can teach the ability to see into the dark, then I will be the person you have to teach."

Isaac looked at the man silently, doubting that this man was an elder he couldn't have been over 40. Mercer spoke again, "I highly doubt that you can teach skills no one ever has been able to, well, according to the books at least, but then again, core powers are made by who you are, hidden away from others, so maybe you can. I don't even know what I am saying, just trying to make conversation." Mercer makes a nervous chuckle, which doesn't match Isaac's predetermined assumptions of him.

Isaac spoke, "How is that you have plants here, I didn't see any outside, yet you have fruit and veg galore, and don't even get me started on the trees, this places is practically a forest" Isaac also lets out a nervous laugh but it seems forced almost like Isaac is trying to calm Mercer.

The two men talk while walking, and Isaac gets a semi-decent grip on the situation of this place. This place is called Light Shroud by the people. The reason that there are plants and light is due to the core power of Mercer's sister, which allows her to compress parts of objects together, so think of it like a big 3D puzzle, but it's being made of tiny pieces of sand. It really made Isaac appreciate the trees around him, knowing that Mercer's sister must have spent weeks or even months making each one.

The two men walk into a hole in the ground the is enveloped with a smoothing light, Mercer goes over into the corner of the room and presses a button, this gives time to Isaac to look around the room, it seems to be filled with the food and water of the town as well as the tools for hunting and farming, this wide stone encased room is just a glorified storage shed.

Gathered around a pair of broken bows, two girls are kneeling down, inspecting them. Isaac racks his brain trying to remember if he saw them at the gate when he first entered Light Shroud, but he is drawing a blank, which makes him think that these people must be either deaf, weak, or too important to risk.

The girl closest to the broken bows who was clearly distraught with the bow's being broken had short, rose pink hair that only fell to shoulder height, she wore a cream dress that fell to right below the knee, her face was slightly babyish but you could tell at a glace that she had been thought her own share of trouble, her shoes looked well wore yet not breaking at all, matter of fact non of the people of light shroud had torn cloths yet Mercer said that his cloths often got torn while hunting, Isaac concluded it must be Mercer's sister that repaired everyone clothes.

The girl standing next to the rose haired girl looked to be only a few inches shorter than Isaac which seemed to hurt his pride, The girl had long wavy strawberry blond hair that fell half way up her back, she wore a mix of green clothes with brown accents, with a black leather jacket that must have been brought with her or someone else when they were brought to the hero's world.

Almost like the girls could tell someone was looking at them, they both turned to look at Isaac. The rose haired girl has light blue eyes with a tint of green around the iris. She looked to be of European descent, but that didn't matter in the hero's world all that mattered was if you could live. The girl with strawberry blond hair has dark grey eyes that give a very rough feeling to look into, almost like you are looking at someone who is better than you in every way possible. She seemed to be from the States, but Isaac wasn't too confident to confirm that judgment.

The rose haired girl looked him up and down before cheerfully waving before going back to inspecting the bows. The strawberry blonde girl seemed to be checking if Isaac was a threat to her or her friend before scoffing and turning away. Almost sensing the tension, Mercer walked over and told Isaac to follow him into a passage that had opened from the button that he had pressed.

Mercer took him into a small 2 meter by 2 meter room made of a stone that seemed to be older than him yet still sturdy beyond doubt, Mercer spoke "you will be staying in here for 3 days, 4 nights, we wont be providing food just water, some Puppet Master's can Puppeteer people remote distances, so by not feeding you we will be tricking the Puppet Master into thinking you are dead, that is assuming you are infected by it, if you are not then nothing bad with happen, you will just be a bit hungry for a few days, use this time how ever you want, learn you core power better, or work out, just no leaving this room."

After saying that Mercer leave and speaks beyond the stone door that separates them " and those girls out there are Macy my sister she is the pink haired one, and the other one is cherry, she can be a bit up tight but she is the best of us, anyway don't go dyeing in there." mercer leaves, and for the first time in awhile Isaac is alone just like before being brought to this world.
