Chapter 8: Explicit's fall
There was a sudden beating on the door in the dark of dawn, like someone was literally trying to break in through it.
He gets up with a wild panic and opens the door, again, it was those three. The pale face of Ashvini was surely in total fright of the physical training he had been informed about,
They were on a physical remend,
From 5 am, they started with the running of 5 km run around the outskirts of the city,
Those thin limbs, how can they bear this much strain?
The instructor to Ashvini.
Then they took them to a football field nearby, the old mansion where they were brought in yesterday.
The five boys and one instructor, and the rest of it were empty, as if society had its authority.
They all were panting and out of breath, maybe it was their first into this type of marathon that wasn't even voluntary.
'Warriors!!!' he shouted to alert them all, as if they were some kind of troops in World War.
followed by different physical trials to test their capabilities, medical trials, and tests for so-called mental fitness.
At 9 am, they were released from the process, and the happiness on their face looks like they have already given everything for the freedom, but from society.
The sound from each of the joints in the body was asking for mercy, and the breath just wants to leave this body.
Ashvini describes his situation to other members in the mess; this time, the food wasn't awful, but delicious to their needs.
Just at the moment, once again, those two men and the warden took them aside,
"No! I'm not here to be a soldier but to study!" Subhash said to the warden
But they still drag them to the old building, and this time
It was well lit, and the curtains still had to be unfolded,
" You all are the youngest members of our society and first in is to learn manners and elegance in case for disguise yourself as reality in the elites of government."
This is the same man from yesterday. Ashvini thought.
And there enters a typewriter in the hall,
Who just vigorously started typing something, the noise of typing was pretty sharp from pressing a key to printing on the page, after completion of a line, he turns the dial and starts again…
"Any questions?" the man asked,
" Okay, so those girls who were selected for the scholarship will also become members?" Subhash said with a slack tone
"They'll not, they are the daughters of those who have served society for a long period of time." said the man. To Subhash's disappointed face…
And the typewriter stops there, hands over a few pages to the instructor.
One by one, distributed it to five of them,
It was some kind of Stamp paper of 500,
"This is the contract of secrecy, which states to maintain confidentiality. All the things we do here, and you hear, are fully classified. And you have five minutes to read it and sign it, submitting to me, and you can leave for now."
Upon reading, they found it has pretty thin conditions for spreading, and even for leaving the society, you need to give an advanced application a few months in advance. Have to attend eighty percent of the meetings as well.
They were nothing but a few young, dumb, and ambitious teenagers.
Didn't give much thought, because it felt like a lot of their benefits.
They just signed it and left as soon as it was possible for them, without any major issues to deal with further.
During lunchtime, they were supplied with the manuals and literature to read to educate themselves on worldly orders, conditions, and revolutions that have been led before in history.
The routine follows through the course of ten days, every day, they were woken up at 5 in the morning, running, athletics, boxing, wrestling, martial arts till 10, then going through the literature and history for hours.
With a blink of eye the school opens up, now there were freaking classes for 8 hours, first four with the theory and next four with the lab practicals.
On the very first day, Ashvini sat in the front row.
"So, Mr. Dubey, we found a way to complete our conversation here!"
Ashvini turned up his head and found it was Palki, standing there, her hair's end was tinkling about the shoulder, but didn't curl up, remaining straight. Big eyelashes were curling up, touching the brows.
'Oh, glad to find you here in the very own class,' Ashvini replied
'Why are you here, so early?'
'Madam, the same goes for you?' With an elegant head gesture, he asks
'Ahh!.. My father wants to drop me off on their way to work early today, but why are you here so early, being in the hostel?'
'I see, Miss deductivist, I just wanted some solitude and time to gain some clarity, with this new science we are about to learn here.'
'An Explicit lie, he is telling,' she thought
It was pretty clear on his face that he was lying there and trying to hide a reason. But instead of confronting him, she played along
By saying, 'It's fine, I'll leave you in peace'
And sits in the other row.
Ashvini went back to staring at the illustrations and turning slightly yellow, heavy, grainy-textured pages of the thickest textbook he had ever encountered in his life.
